Love this place. I don't go here often enough because I don't usually drink coffee outside of work, but this is a great spot in the neighborhood if you want a caffeine kick better than just Dunkin' Donuts down the street. The place is really cute, has good food and good coffee (although be warned it's on the strong side). The staff is also super friendly. Definitely a staple for me in my neighborhood. read more

This is near my workplace and the options to eat in the area are very few, so I am pleased they offer healthy fare. The food is very good and fresh and they are friendly. The shop has a quaint charm and they sell Dough donuts. But there is a problem. They are SO slow. I am the only one ordering and they will take forever to put the meal together. They also seem to allow dogs in here which is neither safe nor sanitary. I remember when the shop was Spanish owned, and it also kind of sucks that this is a more gentrified cafe than that was. But the food is good and fresh, so have to give them that. Plus free NY Times. Prices could be better, though. Sunset Park is not Manhattan. read more

Great neighborhood cafe. I always stop by for a coffee when I'm nearby. The owner and baristas are friendly. They have dough donuts and I love their egg sandwiches. The place is cozy but there is space to sit and read or use a laptop. read more

A cute and quiet space on 4th, not 5th, which is a welcome change of pace! Chill people, Irving Farm coffee, free wifi, and ample daylight make this a lovely addition to the neighborhood. I wish the seating was less spartan, but the Tin Cup nevertheless impresses. read more

Great new coffee shop. The co owner Henretta is most friendly and it has a very cozy atmosphere. Exposed brick walls and seating area feels like someone's house. If they throw in some cushioned high back chairs it would be even better. Free wifi and growing menu I recommend everyone make this their new coffee location and ditch Dunkin donuts! read more

Great little spot! There really isn't another cafe like this anywhere nearby this area so it was a life saver. They also open earlier on weekend than most brunch spots so if you're like me and need breakfast before a train ride, it's perfect! Their croissants are great. Coffee is decent. read more

I love this place to get some work done, ie study! study! study!, while having excellent coffee. I also love the Tin Cup panini. I don't know where they get their bread from but it's so fresh and fluffy - same with the prosciutto! The owner's son is so nice and thoughtful. I loved the latte sprinkled with...nutmeg...I believe? It's definitely one of my favorite cafes in the area. Oh and great music is always playing too. read more

Five stars for the pastries here, easily the best in the area, as I mentioned in my review of nearby Roots Cafe. That said, I think Roots has slightly better coffee, so in my opinion these constitute the two best cafes in the area. You get A+ pastries and B+ coffee at Tin Cup, or A+ coffee and B pastries at Roots. Take your pick. That's not to say their coffee is bad here, it's actually quite enjoyable, but it seems like the focus is on offering food. I suppose I should try some of their sandwiches next. read more

My friend and I stopped into this little cafe in search of a hot chocolate to warm us up on this cold New Years Day. What we found could be better described as liquid gold. I wouldn't go as far as to call myself a hot chocolate aficionado, but i have had quite a few cups in my day. I can honestly say that it was better than Starbucks, but not too much cheaper since a one-size-fits-all cup falls at $3. Though new to the neighborhood, I am sure this will be fixture here for years to come. read more

Tin Cup is tiny, but very good. They have a limited food menu consisting of sandwiches and pastries. I had a cup of excellent coffee and a really good scone for about $5. It seems to get a decent amount of traffic, but never gets too crowded. Good place to read and enjoy a coffee on a Saturday morning without being disturbed. read more

This is a very quaint, eclectic, and tiny coffee shop in between a laundry mat, restaurant, and barber shop. The regular coffee was pricey for being fairly small and the condiment area was messy the several times I've gone here. And their lids never fit right, I end up spilling my drink everywhere. There's definitely better coffee north east from the location like Roots or Southside. read more

To be quite honest, I have not eaten nor drank anything here yet. However, I'm writing this review because the place looks great. They have healthy sandwiches listed on their sandwich board and the coffee selection is rather good for this part of town. It's also down the street from Dunkin Donuts and I feel that a small business that offers FREE WIFI is an asset to the neighborhood. It's a small and quiet place with easy on the eyes decor. I was offered a free cappuccino just because I was happy the place is there. I turned it down because I don't drink coffee but I appreciate the friendly and generous gesture. They were brave to open up today on 12/12/12. That takes chutzpah! The hours are 7am to 7pm though that time might be flexible depending on patronage. As soon as they have hot chocolate and a wide array of herbal teas, I'll be a constant customer on Sunday mornings or afternoons. read more

Their cold brew is the best thing about living in this neighborhood, and they even had paper straws for a minute. (Save the environment!) Also a huge fan of their tuna sandwich and all around vibe. read more

What really puts this place over the top is the service. The employees here are just so friendly and generous. Now, I'm not a coffee person, but I've had some pastries and panini from this place. It's not common that you can find a gourmet sandwich for under $8 anymore, and this place delivers. It even comes with a tiny house salad with homemade dressing that they put together upon your order. Everything tastes quite fresh. The pastries are pretty good too, and at the end of the day they often discount them to half price. This small business is a gem. read more

As I walked passed this place a few mornings in a row, I knew I couldn't let another day go by without stopping in. I couldn't be happier! Craig is awesome and makes a mean cappuccino. Everyone who walks in is super friendly and they play a nice mix of frank Sinatra and Etta James. Their wifi frequently has issues, the coffee here just is not very good, and the music is disturbing if you're trying to work (pop, big band). I so badly want this place to be good because it's close to my apartment, but it's not. Also, it's way overpriced for what it is. There are better cafes in the area with more delicious (and cheaper) coffee. I would check out Roots or Southside if you're looking for a regular cafe in the neighborhood. read more

I am seriously in love with this little café. Their iced coffees and chais are absolutely delicious. And the staff.. I truly do not think they could have better people working there. They are all so friendly and laid back. And I love that they do not rush to make your beverage like they do in busy chain stores. They legit take the time to make you a wonderful coffee.
