I was the first customer that walked in at 7:30am when they opened and I was the first order placed (I ordered a sandwich). 5 minutes after placing my order a large group of people walked in. 20 minutes later I still had not received my sandwich and the large group that came in after me started receiving their food! Walked over from our hotel , decent enough from the outside ...then things went downhill fast . Hardly anyone in the place and were out of bacon first thing in the morning , cappuccinos were terrible and service was crap, brought out a grilled cheese to replace the bacon and tomato sandwich and it was garbage !! Got one of the best dirty soy chai lattes I've had in a while. They're astronomically expensive at $7+, so I don't know that I could justify spending that more than once. But.... with Yelp check-in you get a free food item. There weren't any more of the pastries I wanted, so I was allowed to order anything off the food menu. Yelp for win! Club sandwich is tasty - thick cut bacon cooked crispy, quadruple slices of thick turkey, plenty of sandwich. Came with a side of bagged kettle chips. Limited parking on the side, free with validation (have to go inside and get a receipt to display in your window). Brought my computer and powered out a few emails. There were several people touring the restaurant as a possible event space, so could see this working out for those looking for large group accommodations. read more

Eh... eh... meh... I went to this place about four times, and I just can't get excited. I went before they got a fridge, after they got a fridge. I tried hot coffees, cold coffees, and nothing sparkled. Nothing was special. It was all so dull. On top of that, the people behind the counter are the clueless college kids who were taught to pull shots, mix drinks, and pretty much nothing else. Because they no nothing about coffee itself, they can't really answer my questions about the coffee itself. Downtown Nashville is kind of a dearth of really good coffee places, which is a shame. I had hoped Rockhouse would fill the void in the downtown area, but it's lacking. Still waiting for something really good downtown. read more

The coffee was good and the one staff person working was really nice! Losing a star for lack of vibe. The space itself is beautiful, but seems awkwardly large (too big for the smaller number of customers) and poorly decorated. There were outdated chair and table sets on the "stage" in the corner, then various mismatched chair/table sets throughout the huge room. I like to go to coffee shops to work while soaking in the energy and hustle, so it was surprising that this place was so slow seeing as it was downtown. The space has so much potential and I hate that it's being wasted with awkwardly placed seating (all very far away from each other) and lackluster decor. However - this place could be great for a business meeting because you'll likely have privacy and quiet. Hopeful that they will get a professional in here that will tie the space together and create more of a vibe to go with their yummy coffee:) read more

This spot is right at my bus stop and makes the whole trip worth while. I leave 30 minutes early so I can have a tea and read a book before work begins. Tin Cup has all of the coffee store essentials, good tunes, and no commotion. It's a great place to read a book. Needs bike parking! If you sit in the window seats you can keep an eye on what time it is using the union station clock tower. Also a great spot to watch punk teens shred the wave between 8th and 9th on their sk8boards. read more

Love this spot. The space is beautiful and the coffee is great. My drink of choice is an Americano with a little vanilla. Super friendly staff. One block off of Broadway, so it's just a little tucked away, but still accessible. Definitely recommend. Parking lot is kind of small, but there are reserved spots you can park in. What an amazing place! While visiting Nashville, we ventured out looking for good coffee. This place showed up as the closest so off we went. The outside is very low key, and it's actually called The Tin Cup, so we were not sure we had the right place. But once we opened the door, a lovely waft of roasted coffee beans filled the air. We got to meet the sweet Irish carpenter responsible for the beautiful new wood floors and these amazing hand crafted guitar tables. He gave us a tour and his vision for the future of this space, which will be a coffee house by day (roasted in house!) and a bar by night (with a stage, of course). I've been visiting from San Francisco for a convention the past few days and I've aimlessly ended up here twice. First, I came in during the afternoon with a guy working. Great, super friendly, made a perfect drink - was also one of the few people to give a recommendation on where to go in Nashville! Then, I came in during the morning with a girl working. Soooo nice, a little bit more quiet which is prob a good thing at 10am on a Sunday. Wide variety of coffee options. Staff seemed very friendly. We didn't get any of the food but that looked good as well. This place is cool. They have a great breakfast menu and quality coffee. I was happy to discover it on travel. This is my last day here, and unfortunately, they must be having an off day. The kitchen was closed because the manager hadn't arrived yet. Whatever, coffee's more important anyway. I ordered a small coffee and the barista made an americano instead. I'm assuming she did this because the coffee wasn't brewed yet (the coffee is self serve). I wish she would have told me first. It wasn't good, and it wasn't what I ordered. I didn't say anything because the line was getting long, and I gathered the barista was in training. Management let her down and the result was bad service. If I'm in town again I'd definitely come here again because my experience earlier in the week was good. I just wish it had ended on a good note. read more

This morning, I stopped by Tin Cup Coffee for the first time. To quote Freya from Valkyrie Profile, "It is magnificent!" The coffee house has tons of space and tables. While I wasn't there long, it looked like the menu had something for everyone. The best part was the gentleman behind the counter. When I walked in, he immediately got off the phone and eagerly took my order. The people at other coffee shops *COUGH DOSE COUGH* could learn a thing or two. We chatted for a bit and then I was on my merry way. The coffee itself is delicious, too. It's giving me the energy I need to write this Yelp review. The only qualm I have is that they open at 7:00 AM. During a normal work day, I am at the office by 7:00 AM. This stinks, because Tin Cup is so close to my work and it would be THE perfect place to call my new "go-to" coffee shop.
