Well well well. I had just flown in from NYC. Had been about 2 1/2 weeks since I did my nails and I was struggling. Had to go buy glue and lock these nails down because I didn't know where to go or who to trust out here bc I go to the same bloody people all the time. It had also been a year since I did my nails so ya know... who is gonna hook your girl up?? I must have looked for 4 days at reviews from all the varying nail salons in my area. Most of them were looking hella crusty. Finally I came across Tina Nail. Took a look at the photos, comments, designs, and I said to myself cue the Lou Armstrong bc it's a beautiful world and this beautiful girl is about to get these nails D O N E! Pulled up to the spot and got my temperature checked, hand sanitized and then they set me up with this nail tech... from NYC!! Who would've known?? The lady drilled my nails so hard and I tried to tell her stop but she didn't understand English enough so I had to speak Spanish (I'm Jamaican) but I noticed she wasn't skilled enough to do a quality set so I stayed quiet the whole time leaving my nails crooked. Horrible customer service from the owners. I had my nails done like always. This particular time I chose the color yellow (gel). The very next day it had started peeling. I text the nail text to show her. She told me to come in. By the time I got there both hands had started peeling. She asked me did I want the same.. they only had one color in that yellow. She changed colors, unbeknownst to me that I would be charged for something that was wrong with there polish. The owners weren't there and she said they are the only ones who can correct the charge. Today I went to get my nails done and the owner was there. I approached him being civil. I tried explaining what happened.. he told me he didn't want to hear what I said only from my tech.. I said to him. I'm the one with the issue.. he ignored and walked away. I turned to the wife, she was just as bad and just as rude. I told both of them how they don't value customer service. I am filing this complaint regarding a service I received from this Full Specialist located at Tina Nail Salon. The unsatisfactory behavior has prompted me to write directly to you. This nail technician was immensely unprofessional and unforbearingly unpleasant in attitude. When asked if I could remove a 2nd layer of gel polish she stated " I hate when you come wait until the last minute to change your color" the polish had not yet been cured under the light so it was an easy removal with just the wipe of acetone. I stated to the nail tech that this was my first time ever being service by her she then stated " I don't care, it will be your first and last." I then asked what her name was and if there was a manager available she refused to provide correct license and identification which is a penalty under code 477.029 (f) REGULATION OF PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS COSMETOLOGY. This had to be the most disturbingly uncomfortable situation I have ever experienced as a consumer who is paying for a service in what is supposed to be an environment of self care. The worst possible experience, didn't get what I asked for. Overpayed and was yelled at. This was my third time going there. Yesterday, there was a short Asian man I have never seen before running the place. Usually there's two Asian girls running this business. I went in and immediately told this man that I wanted a regular pedicure, and a gel manicure for my daughter. I explained a design my daughter wanted and he said sure no problem, and we were sat. I immediately told the man doing my daughter's nails about the design, he said NO they can't do that. So I thought, I will just ask the main host again. I did and once again he said NO problem, we will do it. Then the nail tech doing my toes, finishes the pedicure, brings me the color palette and I asked him: those are regular colors correct? He said YES. Nail tech seating next to me is my witness. So, I thought ok, that means he is doing a regular pedicure which means NOT GEL. Great. Then I get up, my daughter is still there. I notice she has two stickers on her nails, so her nail design was not done at all. Then when I am ready to pay, I notice a $37 bill for my regular pedicure and $32 for my daughter. I asked the short Asian guy to please explain what I was paying for. A regular pedicure is $25 and a gel manicure with two stickers is NOT $32 sorry. Then my nail tech told the host he gave me a gel pedicure. At this point, I am upset because first of all that is NOT what I asked for, and second of all, the guy was accusing me of lying and yelling at me that I had gel on my toes, which I know I didn't because I NEVER get gel on my toes. He screamed at me: "Get OUT" at this point, I am thinking "doesn't matter, I will over pay now" in order to make this abuse stop." So, that's what I did. My daughter told me that the nail tech who did her manicure was rude and mean to her. That it HURT her. To my 13 year old. This place isn't clean, or staffed with the best costumer service, it is actually the worse costumer service. I do NOT recommend this place at all. 3/9/2021 My first visit here. I was looking for a Black Owned business close by my home. This salon was listed on Yelp as Black Owned. I don't believe it is. I called to inquire their hours and was told they close at 7:30 PM last walk in they take would be 7 pm. I arrived at 5:45 pm for an eyebrow wax & pedicure. This felt VERY VERY RUSHED. I wasn't happy with my waxing. It was extremely too hot! The lady didn't even both with trying to shape my eyebrows, instead she tried to upsale me on tinting which I wasn't interested in. On top of the waxing being extremely hot. It caused a bad skin reaction. Though the young lady that did my pedicure was very nice. It was very very rushed. She didn't allow my feet to soak. She ran the water put my feet in it and immediately began the pedicure. She didn't even let my feet soak for 2 minutes. I had to ask her to smooth them out a little more. I saw all the good reviews on Yelp prior to going which lead me to choose this place and the fact it said it was Black owned but I don't believe it's Black Owned nor do they take time and care with their services. The manager is very disrespectful, I have been spending my money here for a long time I only go to one person to do the liquid gel nails. This man tried to force me to put acrylic on top of the gel which was stupid and told me to go elsewhere to drill the gel off my nails because I can't soak them off when your nail tech was the one who did them but she's out of town. Then told me to go around the whole shop and ask them if the coat on my nail was acrylic and if one of them say it gel he'll give me 1000 dollars. I know what I pay for I pay extra to get gel liquid on my nail don't be rude and disrespectful because no one else in your shop can do the service I been getting when I walked in I said if the person I made a appointment isn't there I would like to drill it off and I'll wait until she returns next month... A little information I first went to this unit and I was impressed the second time I receives eyelashes eyebrows waxing and my eyelashes fell out the same night I left a message to the owners about my encounter they invited me back for which I still pay full price and when I got home the second time my lashes fell out again I return to get them replaced but the technician Vivian was gone when I ask a gentleman about my issue he looked like he was not even concerned he ignored me and look down at his phone a young lady that was sitting in the chair getting ready to get her eyelashes done allow me to skip her so the other technician can't fix the issue but this gentleman told me to come back. The next day if it wasn't for the customer overhearing the conversation and allowing me to skip her I would've not got serviced. First and foremost I did not come after hours I came back at 6:15 I need you to check your video so that you can get factual information when I spoke to the young lady over the phone she told me to come back this was way before 7 o'clock do not allow your employees to give you false information I understand the seriousness of you being understaffed is the way you guys handled it you guys are the largest you're the largest because of where you guys are located but if you treat people unprofessionally everything will change so in the statement that you just said was not an apology it was an excuse so check your recordings because you do have video and watch and see the treatment and you spoke on a receipt I paid you personally Vivian so you can't even comment on this because you remember me and I tipped you twice even though you gave me poor service so give everybody a receipt because you don't give a receipts. By far the worst experience I've encountered. It was my first time visiting this nail shop. And it will be the last. First of all, booking an appointment on the website is a joke. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME. I scheduled an appointment 2x on the site with no confirmation both times. I decided to call and schedule. I did receive a text confirming the appointment. However, I had a family emergency and had to reschedule the appointment. I called on Friday to reschedule. A guy answered the phone and said it's rescheduled. I asked how when he didn't ask me for my name or phone number? He then asked me my name and said I'll receive a confirmation text. Never received one. So I decided to keep my original appointment since the 2nd one wasn't confirmed. Saturday (8/21/21) was my appointment for 9:30 am. I originally requested Tina though the site since she was recommended but like I said, No one confirmed the online appointment. They opened at 9:30 but Tina was not there. Some new guy (that's what the associates were calling him) did my nails and I'm highly disappointed. I had to tell him how to do my nails. I have my own natural nails and all I wanted was a polish change on my nails and toes. In the middle of him doing my nails, he got up and began a whole conversation with other clients and the associates. I said .."um excuse me, I have to go", he sat back down and continued. He clearly did not know what he was doing. My natural nails look big and bulky like I have on acrylics. The glitter polish is snagging everything I touch. He did not clean up around my nails or toes nor did he apply cuticle oil. I'm very unhappy with the service and I won't be visiting again. The worse nail shop I've been to.
