I love this place because they serve breakfast all day! I've tried several of their dishes, but my favorite are the Chilaquiles. They have a good selection. I personally love their spicy Chilaquiles a la Diabla, but you can choose from verdes, rojos (mild), and con mole (which are my second favorite). Their Oaxacan mole is delicious. I also like that they have the perfect crunch to them. Maybe due to the way the chilaquiles are cut in small squares. I specifically like that they hold up a better crunch than other places. Also, their thinly sliced side of potatoes have a nice O'Brien taste while still tasting Mexican. My mom loves their fish soup. The soup comes with all the garnish on the side that allows you to really find your personal taste. It never gets too busy, but don't let that get you thinking that it's because of the food. My family and I have been eating here for years, they have the best fish ceviche and shrimp tostadas. I always order a fried fish taco with all the works and a side of rice too. The horchata is a must try, it is not too sweet and a joy to the taste buds. The service is always good, the waitresses are attentive and very polite. The only reason I took a star away is because they really need to invest in air conditioning, they just have a huge fan blowing which only circulates the hot air. I've heard of this restaurant for years now from mutual friends and up until recently decided to give it a try since my boyfriend recommended it. There are three local chain restaurants near us but this El Pescador in particular my bf spoke highly of. The interior of the restaurant was pretty outdated and small. I guess if you're looking for a place to watch a game on tv this restaurant could be an option to choose from but do keep it on the bottom of your list. Alcoholic drinks were a bit watered down and plates ranged from $14-$18. I wasn't impressed with my steak dish but did enjoy the chips and salsa. If you're looking for a Mexican restaurant pass on this place. Be sure to use yelp to find some actual good Mexican restaurants because theres plenty of them out there. read more

Eddy!!! One of the nicest servers ever; This is what many establishments need, people who offer great attentive, service. Besides the service, El Pescador offers daily promotions from Monday-Friday and today we took advantage of the Mar y Tierra special (buy one get the other one 50%). One plate Mar y mar consist of shrimp, fish, beans, rice, salad and soup. The Mar y Tierra had the same thing, shrimp and I asked for chicken instead of beef. Hate to say it, but stay away from this plate. The Rosarito combo plate which comes with a shrimp burrito, and fish taco. It was ok, dont get me wrong, but the taste was kinda bland. Found out this location was under the same family ownership so I had to come here right away. Food is good..not great but good. They have many many locations open so it has fame ..it makes money and I guess they got the right concept for a restaurant. The food items are pricey.. the soups .. the seafood.. the carne asada even the chicken. The kids menu is bad and so are the old items they feed them...the food taste fresh overall except the rice taste old and reheated. The fried stuff such as taquitos is all tortilla and no meat. The service is great overall..they're good workers. Parking can be difficult but is ok overall. Service: When we started out here, the hostess wasn't the best, but once we met our serving staff (Nora), she was extremely attentive. She made the experience a little better Food: the food here is always pretty good, but takes a very long time. We ordered A chicken burrito and 1 shrimp tostada, and it took over an hour to come out. I would understand if the place was packed, but it wasn't. The place just seems to be under staffed most of the time. I think we've learned a lesson. We've lived in uptown for 2 1/2 years, maybe visited this place 5-6 times and have always had a similar experience. Next time, we will order take out, or just not come.
