El Pescador in Pico Rivera has that true homestyle Mexican taste that makes you feel like you're eating a meal straight from the kitchen at home. The flavors are rich, authentic, and comforting--exactly what you want when craving Mexican food done right. From the seafood to the traditional plates, everything is well-seasoned and fresh. You can tell the recipes come from tradition, not just a menu. The portions are generous, and the food comes out looking and tasting homemade, which is hard to find these days. The restaurant itself has a casual, welcoming vibe that fits perfectly with the food. It's the kind of place you can come with family or friends and just enjoy a good, hearty meal. If you're looking for Mexican food that feels like it was cooked with love and tradition, this is the spot.

My family and I have been eating here for years, they have the best fish ceviche and shrimp tostadas. I always order a fried fish taco with all the works and a side of rice too. The horchata is a must try, it is not too sweet and a joy to the taste buds. The service is always good, the waitresses are attentive and very polite. The only reason I took a star away is because they really need to invest in air conditioning, they just have a huge fan blowing which only circulates the hot air. Nobody wants to eat while sweating, it is uncomfortable.

A great gem of a restaurant.... The flavor on their dishes are top notch and great prices and good portions , their agua Fresca of pepino is refreshing and staff is super friendly and food was prepared really fast. Place has really cozy seating and good parking Really you should try it out

Food was great I'm upset with the Late Breakfast fee. After the waitress pointed it out. In small writing I mean our party had lots mix of shrimp cocktail to menudo I never heard of this kind of thing . What a joke go somewhere else .

An impulsive stop... that paid off ! Best chips inLA county, by far. I then ordered a 4 seas soup, that was very good, one of the best. Service was good. I highly recommend this hidden gem.

I've heard of this restaurant for years now from mutual friends and up until recently decided to give it a try since my boyfriend recommended it. There are three local chain restaurants near us but this El Pescador in particular my bf spoke highly of. The interior of the restaurant was pretty outdated and small. I guess if you're looking for a place to watch a game on tv this restaurant could be an option to choose from but do keep it on the bottom of your list. Alcoholic drinks were a bit watered down and plates ranged from $14-$18. I wasn't impressed with my steak dish but did enjoy the chips and salsa. If you're looking for a Mexican restaurant pass on this place. Be sure to use yelp to find some actual good Mexican restaurants because theres plenty of them out there.

I order molcajetes for pick up here almost weekly. Today I came to eat at the restaurant. It's so good. Under rated and everyone locally should try it. Let's support our community & their good food. We are lucky to have them nearby. Also, please see the shrimp cocktail. Not stingy with their shrimp at all! Will continue coming of course. Breakfast next!

Eddy!!! One of the nicest servers ever; This is what many establishments need, people who offer great attentive, service. Besides the service, El Pescador offers daily promotions from Monday-Friday and today we took advantage of the Mar y Tierra special (buy one get the other one 50%). One plate Mar y mar consist of shrimp, fish, beans, rice, salad and soup. The Mar y Tierra had the same thing, shrimp and I asked for chicken instead of beef. We also ordered Micheladas and they were really good. Definitely coming back if we're ever in the area.

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

It was a cold day and we were hungry so we got the large Cocido De Res and the Costello De Puerco with a Pina agua Fresca. Cocido De Res - Very good, like my grandma used to make. I don't care for corn tortillas but I liked them a lot here! Costello De Puerco - Great, delicious salsa verde. The chips went well with the beans but it was overall a great dish with a nice big portion. Pina Agua Fresca - They give you a huge cup, they even put the leftover in a to go cup and it lasted all day! It was delicious and fresh. Overall it was a solid 4/5, would come back if we're in the area and in the mood for Mexican food.
