Based on that job, we had Jose come back to price planting of sago palms and trimming trees/bushes/hedges. His price sounded good so we scheduled a one-day job for the work. On the scheduled Tuesday, a crew of three arrived (but not Jose to lead the work). We had to explain to the lead what we wanted done (same as we had explained to Jose before). The lead did not appear to understand us completely. The lead even FaceTimed with Jose for clarification. Apparently, that didn't make it any clearer for the lead...as evidenced by the crew's work. During the first three hours, the crew only managed to plant the sago palms...half of them planted too deep in depressions. They ran out of soil. The lead found a bag on my property and asked if they could use it. After I told him no, he used it anyway and said he misunderstood me. One guy also had to leave to buy more soil for the sagos. After I complained to Jose, the crew provided a replacement bag of soil. The crew trimmed the palm trees and hedges ok. They, however, botched the rest of their work. They butchered the bushes, fruit trees and other trees. They only completed about have the work and didn't cleanup at the end of their day...saying they'd be back on Friday. We feel it is unacceptable for them to have left the job site in such a state...even if they planned to return. The crew also broke a yard lantern. Not sure if we can get a replacement. We cancelled their Friday return and only paid them for the work completed. We are not satisfied with either the partial job done or the price charged for that partial job. It's crap. Vega Tree Service clearly had a more important job elsewhere and sent an inexperienced/subpar lead and crew to do our job. Poor customer service. We will not be using Vega's Tree Service again. We also cannot recommend them to other customers.

The trees always look excellent afterwards but yesterday I had the opportunity to watch them in action as I was working next door. Before starting they tarped all the flower beds underneath the tree so as not to crush the smaller plants with falling branches. The crew was efficient, careful, and impressively quiet. They used pole pruners and had a spotter to help guide the ones in the tree. Their cuts were clean, even, and at the appropriate distance from the remaining branch. Afterward they picked up all the branches and debris that fell over the fence. They did use a blower at the end to clean up smaller debris, but it was amazingly quiet compared to the monstrosities most people use. The tree looks amazing now. The crew were very friendly and respectful, letting me know when they were coming over to clean up since I was working nearby. I have observed many other tree services at work previously and this one by far did the best job of actually caring for the tree, not just hacking it.

Assessed the situation and told me my options for tree removal, just a cut down or cut down + trunk removal. I opted for the latter. His price came in lower than someone else I had come and give me a quote, which I was surprised. My smallish pine tree (15 - 20 ft tall) was cut, stump removed, and cleaned up in 2.5 hours. Leo double checked if I wanted the hole to be left open where the stump was removed or cover it back up with dirt before they finished the project. I opted for them to cover the hole back up since I'm not ready to put in a new tree. He & his team trimmed, removed deadwood from two Pines trees, cut off a huge branch from my Oak Tree that was too close to my roof as well as cut down at least 5 ft. from our large Tree/scrub. We had three trees from our neighbors yard with their branches overhanging our fence, two of which were in tight spaces. The branches were all cleared out with no mess left behind. The small project was to take a pittosporum down about 5 feet and enhance the canopy shape. They did a very nice job on this. Meanwhile, the bigger project was being done by the rest of the crew. We have a very large Monterey Cypress. It needed to be cleared or dead branches, a good deal of weight, and a large lateral "window" created to allow a clear view from a back deck. With guys on ropes and a guy on the cherry picker truck (bucket truck), they go the job done. All of this was completed in an afternoon and within about a week of my contacting them. Additionally, I enjoyed interacting with the crew and with Willy. Certainly worth getting an estimate!

The job required precision cutting because the trees were surrounded by other houses on 500 square foot lots. They cut the trees branch by branch. If I hadn't stayed for the beginning to watch them work I would have thought they Harry Pottered them away. They did great work and were competitively priced.
