Simply put, simply wonderful, good food, happy hour is great, ambience nice, came away stuffed and satified.

LET ME BLOW OUT THE BIRTHDAY CANDLES.... So, my friend decided on this place for a few of the fellas to celebrate him (his 50th was last weekend) and with this being in his neighborhood and him driving past it all the time, he wanted to try it out. This was a big step considering his Social Anxiety Disorders and his aversion to plan such gatherings. The setup is interesting: the outside area has a food cartish feel with a bunch of overseas shipping containers cut in half forming a perimeter, encircling an area covered by an event tent with picnic tables serving as the seating underneath and in the containers (booths). We arrived right around happy hour, did a precursory glance of the patio area, and made our way inside. Kind of a bizarre clash where as the inside is decorated in somewhat of a German bratwurst house feel in comparison to the outside and the restaurant name. One upside is that their liquor collection is impressive....and that's about as far as it goes. As my friend and I were examining the options to partake in a tasty beverage, the pretentious bartender (I think his name was Josh) put forth "You can order your drinks with your server outside." The first time you say it is informative, the 2nd time you say it, is you trying to move us from inside to outside. Sorry Josh, with this being my first time here, I need to know what my options are without having the server running back and forth to find out whether you have my drink options available. As I see some Hibiki on the wall and am speaking to my friend about it I slide in "So we can't order drinks here at the BAR, huh?" which prompts Josh on cue to repeat himself. Thanks for proof positive, GUY! We manage to snag the last "booth" and settled in waiting for our 3rd to show up to meet us. Each booth has a propane fire strip in the center of the picnic table which throws off light and heat. This one was out. When asking to have it turned on the excuse was "The long lighter is out of fluid, and I'm afraid to light it with a regular lighter." Mind you, this is Portland in the beginning of Spring (2nd Winter here) so we will definitely be needing this lit as the sun goes down. They didn't want to do it...FINE...we'll wait. SO this place was chosen because he wanted to try out the Cajun cuisine. And if by Cajun you mean unseasoned and maybe burnt, then this is right on point. I ordered a fried shrimp po boy and "spicy" tots with a side of greens. The cornmeal coating is the same that was on my friend's order of catfish. The shrimp was bland and overcooked, the coating was roof shingle consistency, and the tater tots summed up the mediocrity of the meal. The greens were unseasoned except for the overwhelming taste of vinegar which was only cut by hot sauce. With no salt and pepper shaker in sight, I picked over my meal and only found solace in washing it down with my whiskeys. As our 3rd showed up, he went to his car, grabbed a regular lighter, and WE lit our fire strip up and continued socializing. Another positive was their selection of casual 90s R&B music playing in the background. The downside is that this place felt somewhat more like a boutique dog park than a restaurant. I like animals...but not necessarily around when I'm eating. One guy showed up with 2 dogs, one of which looked like it had mange. A golden retriever came on set prompting a server (our primary server) to bend over and pet the dog. Then, in the next blink, that same server is carrying multiple food items and running drinks out to a table. NO BUENO!! Non-animal owners pay attention to things like that, just like the actual amount of dog fur that was in our booth as we had to unplug the electric seat warmers that were on the benches attempting to give us 3rd degree burns on our ass. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the point. In summation, our group of 3 spent more than a family of 6 sitting across the way from us (we were enjoying some of the higher end sipping teas) but the service level was on par with the overall decline of this city. As we were leaving, I decided to make a birthday wish and blow out the propane centerpiece that we had lit. I'm sure they'll find a way to light it now.... read more

Talk about the perfect neighborhood restaurant! Indoor/outdoor seating abounds, consistently great and massive rotating beer list, really tasty bar food with a good southern twist. The jambalaya in particular is killer! read more

Tiny Bubble Room definitely makes room for the new age of 2021 going out! I love the outdoor heated padded seats in the make-shift semi-private outdoor rooms. The rooms they created for an indoor/outdoor vibe are comfortable even during a grey rainy Portland day. The beer menu is sizeable and will surely let you find something you like. They have both QR codes and paper menus. Service was prompt (almost too prompt) and won't leave you with an empty beer glass. Minus one star since I felt like something was missing, but I can't put my finger on it. I wasn't able to try any food this time around, but would like to try a few things next time! read more

Met a dear friend here for an aperitif at supper. The good: Use of shipping containers for outdoor seating was class. Seats are heated, and the table heating provides extra warmth. The covers on the seats was also not to shabby. Only did outside seating since it is the quietest place available. The bad: The food....... If you find a dish you like stick to it, as the most dependable yummy thing I had were the pre frozen crinkly fries... the catfish was over crusted, salty and trash. As a southerner, catfish is the first thing I learned to fry, I'm certain the cooks may want to use a better recipe for that salty mix they use. The jerk wings..... all the maroons, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer all roll over on their graves daily when they hear the wings being called jerked...‍.. the wings are soggy, with a sauce made of cilantro, parsley and other seasonings.... Maybe I'm too southern, but these wings get a 3 out of 10 at best and that's generous, very generous. My friend likes them because she likes parsley and cilantro but a soggy wing...‍.. c'mon man, y'all got to do better.... Last but not least dessert.. had the deconstructed key lime pie..... but why, why!!! It comes in a 12 oz canning jar parfait style, crumbs on top and bottom. It's a tasty cream mix, but it has 0 key lime flavor or any flavor at all. Well, that's not entirely true, sorry. They do use goat's milk for the dessert, which most people know will over power and lighter flavors. That being said, it's a decent dessert, but mislabeled, I'd just 86 it off the menu to be safe. No do overs. The ugly: 2 parter- GET PAPER MENUS!!! For crying out loud, last thing I want to do when I go out is touch a cell phone. Some people are not doing it for the gram. Id usually have just left if a place didn't offer paper menus since I always leave my mobile at home when I leave home. the server (if that's what they're calling him these days)...dude sucked, not in a good way either. I arrived ordered a couple of beverages, and food. All of which turned out to be lackluster in flavor. Server brought 0 extra napkins the entire time, answered all questions defensively and very condescending, did his very best to not make eye contact with us, never actually checked on our table. Spent more time socializing, with his "friends". Also, upsold me on a beverage, that was absolute trash, smelled like vomit TBH, it had some big name, was red and full of lost hopes and dreams=Trash. But when it came time to tip, he hovered over the table like a blood thirsty vulture. Embarrassing for an adult to act in that manner, hope he pays whatever he needs to. Perfect example of knowing when to move on gracefully from something you clearly hate doing. Total rating: 1 for service, 2 for food, a solid 8 for ambiance They get a total score of 3/10 I don't like to write bad reviews but it's honest. Do better bubble room, please do better. This place is amazing. The entire thing is built out of shipping containers and it looks really cool, and the food is fucking phenomenal. We tried the gumbo, catfish sliders, hush puppies, and a boozy slushy. Every single thing was 10/10, to the point where I wanted more despite being stuffed. The happy hour deals are also fantastic. Food isn't really all that good. The prices seem right until you get a sandwich that is basically just bread. (Etc) Service is usually horrible. Sometimes you'll get a bartender who is kind, mostly they are indifferent to you being there. But the servers I've had are usually the worst. Literally turning away as they toss things in front of you just to go back to the bar to chat it up with the other staff. They actively make you feel unwelcome and ignore you. read more

The bartender is amazing and the tamarind Margarita is tremendous! Their beer options are fantastic and the staff is so friendly here! Also so many fun places to sit! The food could use some help though. Unfortunately the buns on all the sandwiches and burgers are the type that disintegrate when you try to eat the burger. Their red beans and rice and Mac and cheese are a bit plain tasting. If you're looking for a place to grab drinks, then this is the place! Their drinks are outstanding and the vibe is fun! If you're looking for a bar that has a good amount of covered seating outside and also enough heat so you aren't freezing, as well as, delicious food and drinks, then this place is it! Got the fried chicken and waffles and burger here and it was delicious! Usually I don't see too many places serving chicken and waffles on a dinner/bar menu, generally it's only on a brunch menu so it is good to know you can come here for your chicken and waffle cravings! I'm so glad that I visited this place! They have a heated patio with ample airflow. Tables were well spaced out. Almost all of them had personal heaters. Staff was wearing masks and practicing social distancing while taking orders. There were multiple hand sanitizing stations. Staff was nice and friendly which I always appreciate. I ordered a veggie jambalaya and tater tots. Delicious food! I also got a gin negroni which was mixed done, exactly how I like it. For my 2nd drink, I ordered a glass of tempranillo, that's the only red wine they had by glass. Sadly the wine wasn't great, it tasted like the bottle was left open for longer than it should have. That's alright though! The place attracts more beer crowd it seems like anyway and they mixed a good negroni. I'll be back! read more

The food and service was excellent. However, this restaurant is not wheelchair friendly because of a step into the restaurant from the back - which is the main entrance. Both bathrooms in the back are not accessible. If you need to use the bathroom you'll have to tell a waiter, then wheel around the side of the restaurant while they unlock the front door to let you in. The bathroom inside is barely accessible. I have a small manual wheelchair and it took some time and effort to fit inside the stall and close the door behind me. The whole experience was demeaning and I won't return until something changes. read more
