Nathan is an angel and a great hair stylist. Over a year ago, he helped me transition from big curly dyed hair to my natural white color. First, he advised me to go with an edgy cut. Today was my 3rd visit at Tiny Bubbles and won't be my last. Everything they have and do for you is top of the line. First visit was a facial with Kaycie and it was heaven. Yesterday I went in to try their DMK line of makeup and get a consultation on haircut from Nathan. Then today was the big cut!!!! Nathan is my new best friend(love you too Kaycie). Damn, I mean "darn" Jamie Gleason- you hit it out of the park again with the haircut. I've had 3 people comment on my haircut ON THE STREET with the 2 hours of leaving your talented hands. responded to my email receipt with a review only to realize it only posts the reviews on the Vargo app they use I had a HORRENDOUS experience with MICHAEL. Photos are detailed review cause Yelp only allows so many characters. Left with a head full of FRIZZ, TANGLES, RANDOM LONG PIECES OF HAIR! I booked my appt online I wanted a perm and trim. In the notes I put I had long thick hair was quoted 165$. Nathan called saying the stylist I had chosen didn't feel confident doing a perm he said the other owner Michael has 12 yrs experience and he can do it. went to my appt Michael immediately doubled price said my perm was now 195$ and for a cut it would be 75$ I told him I just wanted a trim to get rid of any damage from process. They washed my hair with some stripping shampoo which put it in a huge knot and just took my hair and pined it to the top of my head without brushing it and would take a handful no sectioning and would comb it and roll it that way. So when it came time to start rolling 3 people were standing around me two girls and Michael he tells me they are all going to roll my hair to get it done faster. Then begins teaching them how to put in a curler! Right then my gut told me to leave but I'm always too worried about hurting someone's feelings I stayed. 3 different people mean 3 different ways rolling NO SECTIONING no thought behind how the curls would lay and frame my face. So the blonde girl was either lazy or to scared cause she probably only did like 10-20 rollers but she would put the rolling paper on and it would rip or move off my ends and she didn't care she would just keep rolling it up even leaving the ends out of the rollers which would leave me with fish tails. The other girl didn't know what she was doing but seemed to get the hand of it and in fact she was the only one out of all 3 that would fold the wrap in half and place my ends in between which was how I've always seen it done previously when I had gotten perms. In the middle of rolling owner tells the blonde to go get perming solution, more rollers cause they were running out, and more papers. And I'm thinking wtf I made my appt 4 days ago and they weren't prepared for my appt. He told girl when solution goes on you don't want to saturate the rods the brunette said I was told the opposite in school you saturate all the rods. So while the girls are rolling he sits down to read the instructions of the perm! The brunette says to the blonde which way are you rolling and the blondes response was I don't think it matters were almost done and she has a lot of hair. they were out of cotton so used papertowels around my face. So he applies the solution in an up and down pattern instead of applying it straight to the hair and rods a timer was set for 15 and they all walked and got on their phones. When I've gotten perms before they always check during this process cause it's so damaging and your hair may not even need the full time. They took me to the sink to rinse out the solution my towel I had to protect my face so soaking wet I looked around and found a towel not knowing if it was used on the ground or used to dry off Michael cause he had said to the girl water is everywhere. Put half the neutralizer on set timer and walked away. it's past 6pm and they made it very apparent they were ready to go. He started taking the rollers out in such a rush the ends were coming back and hitting my head and he was just pulling the rods out so fast I could feel my hair being pulled and snapping. So I tell Michael I'm just gonna make another appt for a trim I know you want to go home. He tells me no I have to cut the fish tails off. When I get up and the the entire back of my shirt is drenched my shirt was sagging it was so wet. He sets me in the chair and my hair is in knot so he take half clips it up and tried finger combing it with no success then goes and get some leaving in conditioner sprays a little and to my utter shock he grabs his scissors bends over and is cutting now when I say cutting that word is used loosely he's looking for the fish tails and just a snip here and there. There was no sectioning, no combing didn't even pick up my hair to cut. He then started scrunching my hair I have tears falling by now cause my hair is so frizzy and has looked the WORST Ive ever SEEN or had done!!! There was no hair on the floor when I went to get up and guess what he charged me $75 for that trim!!!!!!!!!!! In the past when I've gotten perms it rods, solution,rinse, dry, neutralizer, dry, take out rods. I cried for 3 days straight I'm the type of person who doesn't like to complain but I don't want this happening to anyone else. Even after i wrote the review on vargo no one from that place said I'm sorry or tried reaching out. They got their $300 that I worked fucking hard for and told me michael had experience with doing perms NOT THE TRUTH!! I know business are hurting for money but don't lie to someone and take their money!!!! read more

They carry my favorite (hard to find) makeup -- DMK. It's a new invention of foundation made with silica and NOT oils. It hold up in the heat and u never need to powder it, just blot. No greasy look in hot weather. I also bought other stuff there, they gave cute products for men and women. The guy Nathan helped me and my friends. I haven't had my hair cut yet because I just discovered them. read more

Love this salon. I live in Chicago but get better color at Tiny Bubbles than I get in downtown Chicago and for less. Nathan is my stylist when I'm in California for several years now. The color products he uses are without ammonia and other bad stuff. My hair comes out beautiful every time. I can't find these products in Chicago. I arrived in Palm Springs for a one week vacation and my hair was just BUGGING ME! I turned to Yelp and started reading reviews about various salons around town. I came across Tiny Bubbles and there were numerous reviews raving about Nathan. I took a chance and made an appointment. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment that same day. Apparently Mondays are slow so I lucked out. Nathan listened to me and totally reshaped my long pixie cut which I love! It has been behaving quite well all week. Hallelujah!! Nathan also turned me onto a new product for styling my hair. Kevin Murphy Free Hold is an excellent product for my fine hair. It has replaced 3 other products that I was using. Awesome!! Let's just say there's a reason all these great reviews are about Nathan and there's nothing on Micheal. My amazing mother booked me an appointment at this salon because I had said I needed a trim. At the beginning of the appointment Micheal asked me what I would like done in which I replied a 2 inch trim blended and softened as blunt cuts have always looked awful on me. So what did Micheal take it upon himself to do? Take 7 INCHES off my hair and give me a blunt cut. It is obvious he does whatever he wants with clients hair with disregard of their wishes. I am genuinely embarrassed to be seen in public with my hair in its current state. It is going to take over a year for my hair to return to the length it was at. If you decide to try this salon, make sure it is with Nathan so that you actually receive the hairstyling you request. read more

I had my hair cut twice at the salon and was very satisfied with the young woman that styled my hair. I call them up for another appointment and I was cut off. So I called again thinking that it was just the connection and the call was cut off again. So I decided not to mention the name of the person I wanted to make the appointment with when I called for the third time. This time the person at the other end listened and I gave him dates and times that were convenient for me. They were booked all those days. I then asked about Saturday instead of a week day and he told me that the only time the had was at 5:00pm. I don't know what was their issue, but I was not going to get a hair appointment from them. The person I spoke with was not pleasant and abrupt. I did witness on my second visit a rude encounter with a lady that wanted to make an appointment and that she would be paying cash. They told her that it didn't make any difference , she had to give a credit card number In order to make that appointment even though she was paying in cash. I found that strange because they never asked me when I first visited their salon. The lady didn't have a Cc. Oh, they close at 5:00pm. Go figure. read more

So SO good! Nathan did a wonderful job with my hair. I needed color correction, a new cut, and a deep conditioner. It had been months since I'd seen a proper hairdresser due to Covid 19 and the shut down. For me , hairdressers are an ESSENTIAL BUSINESS. But those in control felt differently. I was getting really down about my hair and tried wigs, pieces, even coloring and cutting myself! I just could not go around with hideous hair and like many women it wrecked my confidence. When finally allowed to go to a salon, I needed help. A lot of help. And Nathan did it! I had just moved to a rental home in Palm Springs in Late December to begin looking for a home. I had to sell my home back East due to a tragic death in the family. All my doctors, hair care people everything has to be recreated here. I was looking for homes daily to buy and at the same time Covid hit and all the things I moved here to enjoy were gone. It was really awful and then I got sick and had very few friends here, and looked like hell. Needless to say, I got better, bought a home in Palm Desert and found NATHAN! Things were looking up! Then the govt made him shut down again the day before my next appointment. He HELPED ME by speaking to a hairdresser I found in another state where I COULD get my hair done! I just had a blowout at Tiny Bubbles and it truly was one of the best experiences in a hair salon I have ever had. The customer service was superior and the workmanship superb. The stylist I was booked with was running over with a client so instead of asking me to wait they had one of the owners, Nathan Rickel, wash and blow dry my hair. He started with massaging a wonderful Phyto product in my scalp, followed by the wash and blow dry. My hair looks great, I left with some awesome products and I would highly recommend that anybody who lives in Palm Springs, or comes here to visit, try this salon. I am from Washington, DC where there are many options in hair salons, but if I could transport Tiny Bubbles there I would be ecstatic. It's that great. They knew I was just visiting and more than likely will not be back - at least not any time soon - but yet they treated me like a longtime, valued customer.
