The owner was very responsive and if you are looking for a safe place just to sleep while visiting, this is the place. There are 4 rooms available and I took the single bed room. Suited my needs perfectly! I took the metlink from the airport and had no issues! It's also close to bus stops and other rails. I took it all over the city! There are 4 rooms for rent and you share 2.5 bathrooms. I never had any issues using the bathrooms when I needed! Everything was kept clean! There is also a small kitchen area where there are items available. I however did not eat anything since I was eating my way around town! Soo many options and not enough stomach space . There are also lots of food places around the corner as well as a Trader Joe's. Works perfectly! Definitely a gem.

The bedding is super cozy and we slept so well! 5 stars alone for such comfy sleep! The kitchen truly has everything you need. I stocked the full size refrigerator with 2 bags of groceries from Trader Joes and was able to cook 3 fresh meals each day easily. The location is in a tree lined neighborhood. It is quiet and surrounded by lush greens everywhere. We picked a few blackberries in the driveway getting into our car :). Parking is in a generous sized drive up, just a few steps from your door. Jane, the owner and host, was genuinely gracious. She was prompt with communication, very helpful and made us feel personally welcome. Like I started this review - it feels like staying at your favorite Aunties house! Jane would be that Auntie! The suite has all of the professional expectations, and so much more. This is a home away from home and we sure do look forward to returning.

The area this hotel is in is a bit sketchy but that's no fault of the hotel, just be aware when walking around especially at night.

We abandoned the rest of our stay and are eating the cost even though we did ask for a refund. We asked both the front desk and were instructed to email the generic line. Not too long after my phone call, I was paying for the night and getting the tour. Once we got to the 2nd room inside the Suite, I joked to her about the old-school CRT TV (which is placed about where the old wood chair is now in the online photo). She had fun and totally played along. Shoes off policy is awesome. You're welcome to use the nearest chair for handling them. I believe she mentioned at least partial access to the kitchen. The home is amazing, roomy, and it was perfect for us and our children. None of us wanted to leave, the children were hoping we could stay there forever! After a day outside and sightseeing, the children would always ask to return back to the house because they would rather play there instead of going to a park, museum or mall. They absolutely loved the play structure, the seesaw, the bean bag throwing game (sorry I don't know what it's actually called) and the swing set on the front/side yard as well. And inside the home, the children loved the chalkboard and the space to play inside. It was a much better idea that we stayed there instead of a hotel. It was also in a great part of town, the Alberta District, and we loved the restaurants across the street (Tin Shed), many of the other ones that were walking distance (Salt & Straw-we went there 3x, Petite Provence, Waffle Window, Little Big Burger) were amazing too! The community was so kind, warm and family friendly. Perfect for our family reunion/first big family vacation. =) To the owners, Michelle and Klass, thank you for building such a lovely home and vacation rental for my family and others to experience. The cord is not long enough to just put the lamp down on the bench, so we had to improvise and use an upside down trash can to put the lamp on to prevent it from blocking the TV. The phone to TV screen sharing feature (can't recall if it was airplay or Chromecast) kept cutting in and out. So we ended up just watching the end of the Mariners game on our phone. The toilet paper is located on the back wall, instead of a side wall, so you have to twist around quite a bit to reach it. None of these things would discourage me from coming back. They were just odd. The lamp set up seems like it'd be the easiest to fix, while changing the toilet paper placement would be the most impactful. Tip: There are plenty of lots to park your car overnight in the area. I recommend checking out Spothero. I think we paid about $10 for 24 hours with in and out privileges. It beats having to plug the meter every couple of hours. We've noticed that this area of Portland is very strict when it comes to ticketing for parking.

Staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. However, hotels are for sleeping, and I got a very, very bad night's sleep due to a faulty motion-sensing bathroom light-- which is apparently a problem in many rooms of this hotel. In short, the bathroom light turned on at random throughout my stay -- including when I was trying to sleep. I made one call to the front desk, followed their tips (it's a known problem!), that didn't help, then another call and a visit to my room by hotel staff at almost midnight. I asked about a different room and was told the issue could not be guaranteed to be better in a different room. The staff member figured out a temporary fix. Then the light turned on again around 6:00 am. This is not a problem that you can have as a hotel! Would not stay again, nor recommend.

The Alberta Petite Hotel is a peachy home and comfort B&B inn style hotel. Not only do you feel safe, warmth and a cup of cozy comfort all at once, but you great amenities and options for breakfast. The APH is easy to access both the main entrance and rooms with key pad locks whether anyone is available upon check in or check out. What's not to like.... I took a Lyft/Uber situation upon flying in and got in an hour later than I expected... so this was perfect. My room got an upgrade, which was a pleasant surprise as I flew in for my birthday weekend. I got to meet Robin (the owner) and her colleague in the morning... both very friendly, personable and warm. Good genuine people hoping to keep making anyone who stays here feel welcomed. They're around during the day, but don't live on site... there's currently three great rooms to choose from but talks of a 4th and suite on the way and lot of fun things I'm sure I'll get to experience my next visit and first choice stay. Amazing communication before and during my trip, not to mention on fun places to eat, but the Alberta caters to all needs and dietary restrictions. Lots of fun cafes, shops, and whatever your heart desires within walking distance. Easy to find. Hard not to love. Onsite cafe is there if you need to eat ASAP, but the neighborhood has plenty of options too if you're willing to walk a few minutes. Staff were great in helping me find my way around Portland. Tons of additional resources available and staff are also more than happy to print maps and stuff like that. Dorms are plenty spacious and lockers are available for everyone. Washrooms could use an upgrade to stall style ones to accommodate more people....get the line moving kinda thing. But all in all, good.
