Small cozy diner on Riverdale Ave in the Bronx. Staff is friendly and quick to replenish water and coffee cup. Daily specials (breakfasts lunch & dinners) are posted on a blackboard, and all portions are generously served.

THE ESTABLISHMENT IS JUST PLAIN #######GHETTO!!!! Once upon a time it was AVERAGE today however, it is SUB PAR. They don't get the orders right. When you call back they'll say, call tomorrow I'm on the night SHIFT. Call next day, they tell you the night shift should have handled it. Mgr. Would not come to phone, waitress = to Cardi B. ABSOLUTELY no professionalism WHATSOEVER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR ENERGY HERE! Here is a pic of a turkey burger, on a toasted bun with swiss cheese...Ghetttttto!

Cute place with nice service. The only diner around Riverdale that's worth coming too! I definitely recommend it.. It had a retro feel to it and the food is great!

Literally just ripped off a piece of the omelette and this is what I see

WAS WAS WAS a great place to eat... but after a change in ownership the once clean diner has quickly fallen into a state of despair :( Don't expect management to care as complaints get a rebuttal of attitude and curt unapologetic responses. June 16th, 11am: Was delivered a veggie omelet with A HAIR WRAPPED UP IN IT ! I didn't order any hair... but management didn't seem to care one bit Quite nasty when you see a scraggly strand of hair with the ROOT still attached Point is the health code sticker "A" they proudly display as a mark of cleanliness is in fact a fat "F" in disguise Don't order ... unless you like hairy food !!

A Reason for Day's Perfection Why is it that the meals we order for ourselves are always so much saltier than the meals we prepare at home? "It is a melancholy truth that even great men have poor...[coffee machines]." Dickens "You will hear the beat of a horse's...[tummy]." Kipling "All great truths begin as...[bacon]." Shaw "Man is the only animal that...[brunches]...or needs to." Twain Maybe the mistake is believing there could exist such a thing as a perfect breakfast, or worse yet hoping it could change the course of your day or life for the better. I've been ordering from Tiny's Diner for years. And "I ain't seen nothin' change." "The [breakfasts of ours] that have gone before [this] cannot steady the unrest of those to follow." From the menu: EGGS FLORENTINE: Two poached eggs with creamy spinach and feta on an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce. Served with home fries or grits. Here is the order to eat this order while wearing your socks inside out for comfort: You eat your first bite with your heart. And you eat the rest with your mouth. No thinking - that comes later. Sip the coffee. Slice the eggs. Scoop the spinach. Munch the hash browns! Yes. "You're the [satiated] man now, dawg!" Okay...truth be told, this food doesn't even taste that good. Conclusion: Having no food in our fridge obliges us to find our food - not always the food that is the tastiest, but the food that can become healthy blood cells and organs. And should we have the wisdom to open our kitchen to this lifestyle, we will find that the wishes we once had to relive our Proustian memories through salty snacks and sugary drinks can do nothing to reverse the arrow of time - the only thing left to say will be I wish I had looked after my health or I wish I had spent my money making memories for loved ones or I wish- Well, most of you are too oblivious to know what your wishes will be, but when I eat my meals - ingredients to provision my hopes and dreams - I realize that the one wish that was granted to me so late in life was the gift of self-discipline...and perhaps one day a healthy homemade Hollandaise sauce.. Be sure to eat [more fruits and veggies]. Credit: Finding Forrester (2000)

So I ordered Pancakes and eggs! My favorite! It was cool.. Service was great. The waitress was nice and attentive.. As far as ambiance, it was pretty chill. Not noisy at all. Service: 5 stars Food: 4 stars (3.5 if you don't know what…read moreto order) Price: 3.5 stars A longtime riverdale resident proposed the Johnson Diner and Bar for a late lunch. We benefited from her experience and good taste in guiding us through the menu. She ordered a caesar salad with grilled shrimp that looked divine! I love a good tuna melt and she said the Johnson had a good one- plain, but you can add whatever accoutrements you wish. I stuck with the classic and found it simple and satisfying She recommended one of the other salads (the asian salad) to my mom- with grilled chicken breast or shrimp. My mom's first job waitressing job in highschool was at a greek diner and upon discovering the Johnson Diner is greek, she had to try their Mousaka $21 served with a generous portion of greek salad. My mom enjoyed her Mousaka and said it had the perfect amt of cinnamon and spices- she ate the whole plate- she's usually a "take half home" eater- but said she wished she had ordered the salad as it looked fresh and light- and she felt full after the heavier Mousaka Maybe Mousaka for dinner, salads for lunch and brunch!

Ambiance 10/10 When I first stepped foot into the…read morerestaurant, I instantly got this retro vibe. I just love the color of the seating and how comfortable the atmosphere was. Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

The staff is friendly, the food is good. Portions are satisfying and the prices are reasonable. The…read moreambiance is full fledged diner.

5/27/2026 What could I say about this place that everyone…read moredoesn't know about..... absolutely nothing lol. Always recommend getting a reservation weather calling or walking to the booth. Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. We got the viral pancakes and they were everything you'd dream they be and then some for sure very filling and buttery. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. Weather you come for the viral moment this feels like a solid staple in the community with bright music playing everyone kind of everywhere and just a relaxed feel that you can't wait to enjoy after you get seated. Bathroom rating 5/5 very clean for how busy the place is :)

It didn't open until 9am, but by the time we came around at 830am..the line was ALREADY poppin' lol. I was like okay...maybe it is really good. We got lucky as we were able to be seated in the first rounds of the tables that they had outside. We ordered the pancakes, wings and thai tea dessert. UNFORTUNATELY, for me, this place is OVERHYPED. Sure, the pancakes were soft and soaked with honey butter...but its really NOT THAT GOOD. I would never wait in line for this place. The wings were just meh...not really crispy, wasn't great as other korean wings I've had. The dessert was recommended and it was my least liked item ordered lol. All three items for a whooping $70. NO THANKS
