The worst customer service ever! The diner is almost empty, but now I no longer wonder why. It is just the terrible attitude of the servers and owner, acting like they are doing you a favor!. They have it all wrong.! A few weeks ago I asked for an iced coffee to go and the owner felt that it was OK for him to give me a lecture on how much sugar I was putting in my ice coffee and telling me .. that I was destroying my organs! I told him listen I'm coming here for an ice coffee, not a conversation on my health nor what I should eat or not! I was upset and didn't go back for weeks.. I just went back today and the diner was empty .. they only had about three tables taken, so I wanted to sit at a bigger table and I was by myself, and they refused, even though the restaurant was empty. when I complained to the manager, he said those are the "rules"..., I asked him those were the "rules" when he commented last time to me about how many sugars I put in my coffee! Such bad customer service!!! I told them I would never be back and they've lost my business for sure. They didn't seem to care, so I assume they did this to many customers who just feel the same way. . They don't know what customer service is. And the food is OK. Nothing extraordinary. First time coming here after driving passed on many an occasion, only to never enter their doors. My sister and I were starved after our weekly gym sesh and I really wanted a smoothie. Unfortunately, my regular spot was closed for the holiday weekend so after admitting defeat and heading home, we passed Paxos and decided to give them a try. They didn't have smoothies but I picked up some breakfast for the clan at home. I got Pastrami Wrap for myself with avo, lettuce and tomato; served with a pickle and coleslaw. It was good. I only had half because I was still on my quest for a smoothie of juice. Hubby had a Tuna Melt Panini which wasn't melted like he wanted but it tasted good and he was satisfied. My son had their Vanilla Milkshake and Pastrami Panini which he thoroughly enjoyed and polished off like any young man his age would. We also ordered some Waffle Fries that I'm sure would have been perfect had we eaten them in house but with the drive, got a little soggy. I guess I would suggest to them to out the fries in a container with venting (a hole) so that they don't steam to a soggy oblivion. Just to let you know, they still tasted good because they're seasoned and we ate 'em all. The woman who took our order was very nice, the place was packed and it looked like everyone there was enjoying their food. I checked their menu out and took a few home since they deliver and I definitely want to try some of their dinner items. They have non-pork breakfast meats which is always a plus for me. I don't eat traditional bacon so I love it when a business offers turkey bacon or turkey and beef sausages. This area of Yonkers is thriving with small businesses and Paxos is one I'm happy to make a regular spot of mine. read more

Absolutely DISGUSTED! I frequented this place often before today, but would NEVER eat here again. I found nail clippings, yes, actual human fingernails in my Pink Lemonade. I contacted the restaurant and was told by the Manager Mike that "things like this happen sometimes" ...NO, employees do not bite their nails and throw them in a cup that is then served to a customer. To add insult to injury I am 4 months pregnant. Will definitely be contacting the health department because this is NOT ok. read more

However the whole time while enjoying our food, toddlers were running around, crying, screaming, and kicking that it just knocked this place from a 4 to a 3. I hate giving a bad review but this place has gone downhill and it's been like that for the last 3 years. I tried to give them a chance time after time but the bad is overwhelming. I usually get bacon and a bagel with cream cheese. The bacon is overcooked or just tastes spoiled. The fact that soon as you open it looks like 3-day-old bacon like you knew this wasn't a good idea to send. The bagel is either burnt or not toasted. So much cream cheese I can spread it on 4 bagels from one bagel. The toast never has butter and even if you comment for extra butter. Coffee is the worst coffee in the world. We started to google and yelp for the best breakfast spot that weren't to far, when low and behold we told by a friend about this spot around the way. This family diner has a nyc style pace with friendly workers who are attentive with your needs from when you first walk in. I'm usually skeptic about diner food with flavoring and not portions but this place did well in both areas. We sat outside with the family and all had breaks fast entrees. I wanted to to end this reckless eating weekend with a bang so I got the blueberry waffles with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My ladies had the french toast, nutella pancakes with scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. Now you know the food was good when you think you won't be able to finish, but in the end your plates are clear. I love this place !! I moved to Yonkers about a year or so ago & I have been trying all kinds of places. I was in search of an impressive breakfast/brunch/lunch spot and I have found it in Paxos ! Where do I even begin .. the hostesses are always so friendly and seat us right away. Immediately a waitress/waiter comes by and offers coffee (ughhh the coffee is so good & it's actually strong). Each and every waiter we have had offers excellent and attentive service even when the restaurant is jam-packed. The food. The food ! Is so yummy , today I had their turkey,avocado, cheddar (switched it for swiss)omelet with home fries & toast. It was delicious, I almost finished every last bit. They have a specialty which is their "home made french fries," and you have to say it just like that to get what I'm talking about ... best non greasy home made fries & they serve in abundance. So I am only giving this spot 3 stars because well a few things happened that I thought were kind of weird. The first one--why is there american cheese on my quesadilla? American cheese reminds me of my childhood and grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup from the can not on my grown up "Mexican inspired" meal. The chicken was delicious but that cheese added a weird taste for me...but hey my taste buds are sophisticated these days. The second thing was my shrimp platter didn't come with french fries like it said it would on the menu. Im not sure what happened there. I ordered a side order of onion rings so maybe they assumed I wanted a swap out? But I can't be sure because the weird third thing that happened was I didn't get a receipt from the delivery guy. I first tried Paxos through GrubHub. I ordered a pastrami panini and some appetizers. The food was good for the price and the delivery woman was nice. Late morning on a beautiful Sunday, I came here with my cousin and three children. We wanted to sit outside so I went in and asked a waitress if we could seat ourselves. She just kinda shrugged, not a good sign. We sat ourselves at a table with some nice shade. A few minutes later a girl came and gave us menus and left right away. We chose our selections and waited. And waited. After 15 minutes literally just sitting there, we left. She didn't even bring water, no one came to check on us. It was not very busy. The servers dealt with several tables outside in the meantime and I kept trying to get their attention. Eventually, we said screw this and left. No one said anything as our party of five left. We went to another spot nearby and got great service and food. I may consider this place for take-out but their service needs a LOT of work. read more

Everything I read was true right up to the food reaching the table. The service is Excellent. The service is definitely 5 stars. From the people at the register to the servers everyone is really pleasant and attentive which is fantastic. My reason for the 3 star is the food unfortunately. Honestly I don't understand the hate towards Paxos and the negative reviews. Are you kidding me? This is pretty much the best diner in Yonkers! What other option do we have in downtown Yonkers? The place is clean, the staff is always friendly and attentive. Granted, it's hard to get the attention of a waitress on a Sunday but that's because it's packed! I'm giving Paxos three stars because it's... Average. The interior is cozy and clean and it's a great place to people watch from. The service was fairly standard. Nobody came by to freshen our coffee, but we weren't there too long. The food was well cooked, although I'm 99% sure my corned beef hash came out of a can and 100% sure that cook should be ashamed if it didn't. All in all, eh. Not terrible and not great.
