The specials list was actually longer than the regular menu, and I noticed the waiter was specifically pointing out mushrooms when they were included in other dishes. Unfortunately, he did not mention that the appetizer we selected contained mushrooms. Once it arrived, we had to send it back. At that point, we decided to cancel our meal and simply ask for the check. When we explained that we were returning the appetizer because we were unaware it contained mushrooms, the waiter offered to pack it up for us to take home. If we didn't want to eat it at the restaurant, we certainly didn't want to take it home. What was most disappointing was the lack of effort to recover the experience. When we cancelled our meal and requested the check, the waiter did not call a manager, ask what had gone wrong, or make any attempt to understand or resolve the situation.
