TIO LOCO TAQUERIA- Oakwood, GA If you're in the Oakwood area and craving some Birria Tacos, TIO LOCO is worth a visit! This nice little spot is tucked off to the side of the BP gas station on Hwy 53 (beside the COOKOUT), right off 985. The address might say Gainesville, but for me, this is Oakwood. The Birria Tacos here are solid--juicy, flavorful, and sure to satisfy your taco cravings. They of course have your other menu items that you may want to check out, but I've been on a birria kick for a while now It's definitely a spot to check out if you're nearby! #RoliEats #BirriaTacos #TioLocoTaqueria #OakwoodEats #goodeats #GainesvilleGA #TacoLover

Food was very authentic. Chicken and steak tacos were both great. Service was good. Don't overlook it.

To be honest I only come here for the wings, and the bar was set pretty low given that about the only place to get wings in Oakwood is from under a heat lamp at the grocery store. Wow what a difference, I started with an order (10) of half buffalo and half spicy chili, both mild as I didn't know what their heat level was at here. Wings were still crispy after the drive home even with all the sauce, darn tasty as well. I've now upped the heat level to very hot and they pack a punch. The space isn't much to look at, but it's clean and well lit. Definitely worth giving them a shot, I might even try something other than the wings at some point. Enjoy!

I stopped in for a salad and opted for gyro as my protein topping. Bad choice. It was like the texture of the sole of an old shoe. So tough! The salad wasn't much better, consisting of mostly the whitish core of the romaine head, way too much onion and carrots, and too few tomatoes. Their credit card print-out doesn't give an option for a tip, so I felt lousy about not having cash to tip. The guy behind the counter was busy tap-tapping on his cell phone and didn't bring me my food despite that I was sitting at a table with a drink and wanted to dine-in. He made a grunting sound to indicate that my bagged to-go salad was sitting on the counter. Maybe their typical meals are taken to-go, but I ate mine in the restaurant, a small, drab interior with little to coax me into wanting to return, unless I should do so to try out the wings.

They go out of their way to make this establishment stand out and feel so homely. This is definitely my family's favorite place to go for dinner or even lunch when we are in the mood for delicious, fresh and fast Mexican food. Everything they serve is freshly made or prepared right in front of you. They have buzzers for guests if the line gets long so you know when to come pick up your order. You can dine in one of 3 different areas; 2 inside or the patio outside. They also have the option of fountain drinks ( with free refills) or can/bottled drinks ( some imported). I can't say enough good things about this place, i really love their taco salads and corn ( you can order it on the cob or in the cup). They are also careful of the spice level and will customize it to whatever you like. They have alot of items on the menu i may eventually try them all.

You first walk in, but you actually order at the counter and find a seat. We had a couple of carne asada tacos and nacho fries. The tacos come plain, so I moseyed on over to the salsa bar and got my own onion, cilantro and lime. My daughter loved her fries. Food came out pretty quickly, but as soon as we ordered it got pretty busy so I am glad we arrived when we did. The only thing I didn't like was the CMT Music Videos blasting throughout. Seemed like the wrong type of vibe for that place if you know what I mean. Anywho, I wouldn't drive back the 30 minutes to eat there, but I wouldn't drive certainly stop by if in the area.
