After we got our waters, we were able to order our food, and we were served within 15 minutes. I got the veggie fajitas that came with sweet potato and roasted cauliflower. My food was sizzling hot and it looked great! It also tasted really good, I thought all the fillings went together well. Came to Tio for their Taco Tuesday and happy hour, and it's a bit disappointing that you are only able to get the happy hour deal at the bar ( not at the bar area just 'the bar'). We all ordered tacos since it was half price on Tuesday and the tacos tasted quite average, but it was a good price. I will recommend to come on Tuesday if you just want to have some tacos. The cocktails we ordered were all too ' unique ' for us, the sangria tasted like perfume, the margarita tasted very bland and the mojito tasted like syrup. I have a sweet tooth but I found the mojito not drinkable, so I had to return the drink. We ended up ordering beers and wines for the rest of the night to be safe. My friend wanted me to try this restaurant for a few months now and we finally came here together with my brother for his birthday. Staff: We were greeted upon entry of the restaurant and was seated within two minutes. It took less than five minutes for a waiter to arrive to take our drink orders and our appetizers. The waiter then came back to ask us how the appetizers and drinks were; and he also took our entree orders at that time. The one waitress that brought out our food was not too bright, nor did she have the manners to speak to me. She called out my brother's order and he answered her; but she stared at me so I can move my plates out of the way so she can place my food in front of me. She could have opened her mouth and ask me to move my plates instead of staring at me with a dirty look. Carne Asada Fries: These were crispy and has sour cream and guacamole on top. This was the best tasting appetizer that we ordered. Chicken Empanadas: This was crispy on the outside edges and was topped with cheese. It has a lot of chicken on the inside and did not have much taste. They should have given us a cheese dip or some kind of sauce on the side to dip the empanadas in. Fresh Lemonade: This tasted like flavored water with no lemonade taste at all. This was a disappointing drink, and I was better off with a Coke a Cola. Adios Muchacho: This alcoholic beverage was so good that my brother drank is way too fast. Frozen Flights: These were like a frozen alcoholic beverage that were also good. Chicken & Carne Fajitas: The steak was good and cooked to perfection. The chicken was way too dry. Churrasco Skirt Steak: My friend said this was delicious and this was his order every time he came here so far. Chicken Fajitas: The chicken was so dry that I could not continue eating this. Haven't been in a while, and was in the area today, so I stopped by for a quick lunch. The restaurant was quiet and empty, so we were quickly seated and ordered drinks. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries, with a Shirley Temple. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita, Truffle Guac and a shrimp quesadilla. The margarita was nice and strong. Decided to meet up with my sister and Nephews here for an early dinner it wasn't to busy around 3:30 which was good . We sat down in the semi outdoor area which was nice since the weather was nice . Our server was great very attentive and we didn't wait super long for our food . Prices are alittle high but I guess everyone has to keep up with the inflation also FYI 2.95% charge for CC . Some of the food was could have used some better flavoring . I came here for a spontaneous weeknight dinner with family. We had a wonderful time! We were seated immediately with great friendly service in a cozy booth. We ordered the loaded nachos and guacamole and jalapeño margaritas to start with, and were very happy with our choices. Loaded nachos were perfect to share amongst the four of us. I usually go for a sweeter marg, but the spicy one was a nice change with a little kick of jalapeño. I had the chicken Chipotle torta with rice and beans. I've had this place on my list to try for a while and it was just ok. The server was very nice and made some suggestions on the menu he was informative. The food was lackluster. We had several tacos and nothing stood out flavor wise. The nachos were just ok barely any meat. The food just was a no for me for this to be a Mexican spot I was shocked at the flavor being missing for everything. The best part was the tequila flight which is a cute presentation. We got the casamigos one which was good. And I had the margarita which was VERY good. I think it was called the Cadillac margarita or something close to it. I should never have to do this. I tell the hostessa - that's what I'm calling her bc she literally annoys me. I say- you said the fire pit wouldn't be on. She's like oh it is? I say I told you she can't be near fire. She's like oh. When we got out of the bathroom and were on the way out, she's just laughing and chopping it up w her coworkers. Like in one ear and out the other. Second time a hostess here has been absolutely ignorant to the customers needs even when it is spelled out for them. I visited Tio Taco in Edison on a Friday night after hearing great things about it. They don't accept reservations or call aheads so I was assuming it would be busy. I feel like they could definitely think of a more organized way of handling this if they don't want to accept reservations because people were all gathered in the middle of the place since there was nowhere else to go. We did need to wait an hour so we ordered a frozen margarita flight at the bar. It was incredible and dangerous! They have a few flavors including the ones we tried- coconut, passion fruit, and mango. Passion fruit was my favorite. I loved the decor of the place. Very colorful and surprisingly they weren't playing only Spanish music but a mix of pop and hip-hop too. We were finally seated and our waitress was so sweet and attentive. We ordered another flight since it was so good. We got guacamole, salsa, and chips for the table and the flavors were perfect. For entrees I ordered the pork tacos and my friends both ordered the enchiladas. I would rate my tacos a 7/10. The pork was seasoned so well (tasted like my moms) and all the ingredients tasted fresh but I'm not a big cheesy person and it was drowning in cheese. Just a preference though. I asked the hostess if I could sit at the bar and she said yes because there was an available chair. The bartender, Victoria, was my server and she was nice, busy, but nice. I come here about once a month and the service never fails to amaze me. Today (fourth of July) we went in for lunch and had Allie--who was training another server and the trainee was in great hands!! We never had to flag down Allie to get a refill on our drinks as she always was proactive to make sure everything was going well. My friends and I had a great experience here - we came while we were waiting for a bay at Top Golf. We got seated right away on a Saturday evening. We were helped quickly and our waitress was super friendly and helpful when picking drinks (it's a big drink menu). All of our cocktails were quite good and strong. For entree I got the chicken quesadilla - the portion was massive, especially for the price! It was filled nicely with chicken and came with a bunch of fixins. The side of beans and rice was delicious - I liked those more than the quesadilla! My friends got the chicken torta, mushroom torta, and chicken fajita. The tortas were tasty, but unfortunately the mushroom torta was a bit cold (like it had been sitting out for a while). The happy hour is only offered at the bar, which tends to fill up very quickly so I'd plan to go as soon as it's opened (4PM). Pricing and portion wise, I thought the tacos at the Tuesday happy hour price ($3.50 - $4 each) left a little to be desired. The happy hour empanadas were wonderful however, as you get 3 for the order and my friend and I very happily spilt those. The tequilas were very watered down and didn't have much taste to them otherwise. The waiters at the bar are nowhere to be found when you need them but that's just the nature of sitting at the bar I suppose.
