Hello I bought a sweet puppy from perfect puppy Warwick. The whole process was very easy. They made sure my puppies 1 st wellness visit was taken care of. Made sure all vaccines were up to date Made sure he was sent home with top of the line food , chip ,etc. The lady who helped me was very passionate about her job, and u could tell she absolutely loves what she does. Upon that visit my pup faced some medical challenges and was treated God willing successfully, thru the wonderful care of Titan and ocean state drs. ​the owner of perfect puppy followed up and went above and beyond to help. He took care of the expensive visit with Titan and helped off set a large amount of the medical expense. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable of dogs and breeds. He stated he has been in the industry since a young age . I was so relieved he off set some of the cost. I have 2 children one is autistic We purchased our puppy as a companion for both. My puppy is a top recommended breed for children with autism. To date he has brought so much love and emotional connection to all of us. Both my children get hrs. my husband and I purchased our cava poo puppy from this place on July 1st. She is absolutely adorable and lovable. However, shortly after picking her up, we had noticed she had severe diarrhea after her seeing a vet she was diagnosed with Giardia. Didn't really think much about it. Just figured it was a puppy thing as the vet said most puppies do end up getting it. my husband and I purchased another puppy cocker spanielfrom this place on November 29. Since picking him up, he has had nothing but severe diarrhea with blood and once again after being he was positive for Giardia. Our poor boys strain is so really bad and will need another round of antibiotics. Will definitely not be bringing him back because we have fallen in love with our two puppies, but this place needs to be shut down. If all they produce our infected puppies. it is not fair to families who are trying to bring home pets to be part of their family and they are already coming unhealthy and it's not being disclosed upon purchase. someone needs to report this company for the unsanitary facility that they have and it's not just one store. I am a dog trainer here in Rhode Island who has several clients who purchased their pups from Perfect Puppy in either Scituate or West Warwick, these dogs have serious behavioral issues. Perfect puppy does not offer AKC Registered pure breed puppies abd they charge more than reputable breeders who offer valid health guarantees, Perfect Puppy claims to offer a 2 year health guarantee in their site but oddly enough there are no health guarantees included in the owners paperwork. This store is vile. Went in today with my girls and saw sad/weak/shaking puppies shoved into small, metallic, cold crates. They keep their dogs in horrible settings, leaving them with nothing but water. Every puppy was begging to be held, or played with. The two girls working were very rude, screaming that we can't touch the dogs, couldn't even play with them unless you were interested in buying. The workers are rude, the environment for those puppies is terrible and all them look on the verge of death. This is a puppy mill, selling sad babies and not treating them properly. DONT BUY HERE. We had a handsome GS boy that passed away a little over a week ago, so we went in here to see if we found something that bonded with us like our boy did. We fell in love with this beautiful girl. Took her home this weekend only to find out she was EXTREMELY aggressive. Don't let the face fool you. Grabbed our friends 13 week old lab by the neck, and hooked on to my 4yr old doodle (who is 88lbs btw). Called the store to ask if they knew of the aggression. Their employer tells me over the phone that she was food aggressive with her litter (which was not disclosed to us), and tells me we would get $2675 back if i returned her. Brought her back asap, just to have him tell me "my bad" and that the refund would only be 1330, of $2700ish we paid. Then proceeds to deny that they knowingly sold us an aggressive dog, and denies what he told me over the phone. Spoke with the manager who said he cant back up what the employee said or didn't say because he "wasn't there". Lol seriously? Take responsibility for your staff. We contacted the breeder who confirmed the puppy was aggressive with the litter and that the store is made aware of all health and behavioral concerns. The owner is still taking NO responsibility whatsoever, and wont issue a full refund. Even when we asked to simply get a different dog from them. We will be following this up further legally to make sure no one gets harmed by their scam again. The dog they sold us will be resold to another family. My mother in law bought 4 dogs from this place. 2 of the dogs died from cancer both under 3 years old and the the 3rd my family pet just recently died from a brain tumor at 4 yrs old. I honestly think these dog are from puppy mills. The dogs vet check ups when they are born are a joke also seeing that they are checked at Titian vet in Warwick. All I can say is do your homework and find a reputable breeder on whatever dog you are looking for and stay away for this place if you want a healthy dog that will be part of your family for a long period of time. read more

STAY AWAY!! - Five years ago I met my husband and his adorable Golden Retriever which he purchased at The Perfect Puppy in Warwick. Pup was a very sick boy for the first entire year of his life. At age 3 he developed a severe seizure disorder that has progressed significantly over the years. They began as 30 second seizures. We've increased his meds, spent thousands of dollars at the vet, etc. Today (age 6), he had a 40 minute seizure and was rushed to the hospital while still seizing. I am fully aware retrievers have a host of health issues but, coming from a family with multiple Goldens purchased at breeders and on the sides of the road, I've never seen a golden with as many health issues. STAY AWAY from this place. They are not in the business of adding to your family - they're making STUPID amounts of money selling very very sick dogs. You'd be better off finding a box of puppies on the side of the road. Everyone say a prayer for our sweet sweet boy. He doesn't deserve any of this. read more

I walked into the West Warwick location on 10/19/23. I was pleasantly greeted as I walked in. One of the workers had just finished mopping up the floor and appropriately advised me to be careful as I walked around r/t the wet floors. The place looked reasonably clean, and there was a grooming happening when I was visiting to the back of the store so naturally there was fur flying around near the back lol. There were no odors. They expressed one rule immediately and it was " not to touch the puppies", which I can respect ( it was hard to follow but I did lol). There were many puppies, they all looked clean, well fed, and I didn't see feces infested crates/bins, all bins had water dishes, the water looked clean. I visited with two Boston terriers in their indoor dog pen, the two Boston terriers I interacted with where: clean, clear eyes, lively, no odors. beautiful coats and Playfull and one particularly puppy was all over me lol he was my favorite and a second puppy for the first 30 secs or so appeared nervous but quickly acclimated to me and the new surroundings. Neither puppy shied away as I tried to pet them, but there were lively. They allowed me to take pictures of the two puppies. The staff were friendly, very willing to answer any questions I had and I had many, no high-pressure sales, explained the process and the 2-year health guarantee, showed me the ACA certification for the two puppies I was interested in. In my opinion they lost one star because they had a few wire crates that looked very uncomfortable for the puppies especially if there in them 24/7 and their prices are expensive, but I guess so is everything else these days. I didn't get a dog today because I am still in the research stage, and I want to fence my yard before I bring a puppy home, but the perfect puppy might be a contender. read more

We walked in and the puppies were going crazy crying for attention but we weren't even allowed to sanitize our hands and pet them. They were secluded and their spaces were tiny. A couple of years ago we began searching for a small dog to replace the rescue Shih Tzu we had just lost to congestive heart failure at a very young age (yes, even rescue dogs get sick and die.) We checked numerous shelters for small dogs and attended adoption events, but found that small dogs tend to be adopted quickly and we constantly came up empty. We finally stopped at The Perfect Puppy to "look" at the puppies, and found an adorable Pomapoo that was older than most (7 months) and, therefore, had been discounted to a price that was affordable. We brought him home that day, and took him to the vet for a wellness check, which he passed with flying colors. Now, two years later, my husband thought that we ought to check around for a companion for our dog since our cats aren't exactly thrilled about playing with him. So, started checking around for a small dog. Found a puppy from a local breeder and went to check him out, but had an absolutely horrible experience there. So, checked The Perfect Puppy site again, since we had such a good experience the first time. Hallelujah! Found another older small-breed puppy at the West Warwick site (yes, he was also discounted to a very reasonable price) and went to check him out. He was friendly, happy and full of life, so he came home with me. Had his wellness check this past weekend and, again, the puppy passed with flying colors. He and our older dog quickly became best friends, and watching the two of them wrestling and chasing each other is adorable. I've had no problems with The Perfect Puppy. The puppies we purchased had been regularly vet checked and were up-to-date on all shots. No problems with either puppy that we purchased there. read more

I wish I could do more at this very second than just rate this terrible place. Every puppy there aside from maybe one or two look half dead. Not malnourished, but completely sedated... very very sad to see a room with 30 puppies in it that is nearly silent. It's not natural. My next step is to call the west Warwick animal control and then the BBB. I have read about this place being put on the news and protesters outside the building. Not sure why nothing has happened but I know what I saw and it's not right for all these puppies to have zero energy at 3 in the afternoon. Also. I saw no food or water bowls in any cage. BAIT AND SWITCH!!! When we first went in we saw one dog with a scab on his ear. We played with him for a little and he was great but we wanted to have a look at another pup just in case. The second puppy was shy, playful and looked healthy. We decided to go with the second pup. The next day, they called and said he would be able to get picked up. When we arrive they brought us our puppy and it was the one with the scab on the ear. When I brought it to their attention, they scanned the dog and said "nope that the one" and then asked us if we wrote down the scan code even though we did not see the need to do so. When we brought home that puppy, we saw his scab was not healing and he was constantly crying and itching. We decided to take him to an emergency animal hospital where they said he had a severe case of mange and was wormy. We immediately got him medication and anything we needed to help this little guy. He slowly got better but the vet told us we were very lucky we got him help when we did. That little puppy was Tatum and I would not trade him for anything in the world. He is perfect and part of our family. However, Perfect Puppy bait and switched Tatum and left us with the emotional trauma and difficulty of getting him help. They saw a young couple and figured we would not notice. They are terrible people and should be shut down. If Tatum was one puppy with severe health concerns, I can't image what each dog in there is going through everyday. read more

I got my Cairn Terrier at the Perfect Puppy in Warwick after having friends who had good experiences there. He's one now and healthy, smart and has the best temperment ever. He's an absolute love! Everyone wants to slam pet stores, but well-run ones have their place--and not all of them buy from puppy mills. Some have relationships with non-AKC part-time breeders who work full-time jobs and don't want to constantly have buyers coming to their homes or the Amish and Menonites who don't like outsiders constantly coming in. The PP will tell you the origin of the puppy and you can check USDA records on the breeder--I did. They are also not in tiny cages or lethargic like some here say--that's just not accurate. And they do let you touch the puppies. I got to play with my dog and his sisters before deciding. The reason I chose the PP was that I was on breeder lists for over a year and never got picked to get a puppy. Perhaps families were more attractive to the breeders, I don't know. I also needed a hypo-allergenic dog. So, adopting a rescue sounded great---but it just couldn't happen. The Perfect Puppy was expensive, but it also meant I did not have to travel to another state to pick up my puppy. My only complaint was that on my first visit, the store was very clean. On the second, it smelled awful. I truly think they could be an asset to the community, but they should present themselves better with more attention to the condition of the store. read more

Just an update on my last review, not only did my dog have an upper respiratory infection he had tape worm, he had kennel cough and also has an enlarged heart. Which is very uncommon in a puppy. My dog is now 9 months living with his enlarged heart condition which is difficult especially for a puppy who wants to run around all day but he's limited. Perfect puppy has yet to pay his vet bills now 4 months after the fact. Please think twice about getting a dog here these people buy their dogs from puppy mills in pa. My " breeder" is on the reoccurring puppy mill list in pa. For crowed cages and not being sanitary. They Drive them down here and sell them. They buy their dogs for 200$ and up and sell them I was told by the "breeder" they buy cockapoos from him for 300$!!! I bought my cockapoo for 1300! A huge profit the least they could do is make sure the dogs are healthy. ADOPT DONT SHOP!!! I will never recommend anyone to buy a dog from here nothing but issues. Shady practices. In it for the money. I was looking on their website at an Australian Shepherd puppy who was priced at over 1,400 dollars. This animal, a blue merle, had no pigment around his eyes and on most of his ears- a sure sign it is a double merle/from a double merle breeding. Shady, backyard breeders breed two merles together which causes a myriad of health problems (deafness, blindness, etc.) in hopes of getting a litter full of merles. Aussies should only ever be bred merle to solid. Never merle to merle due to the astronomical chance of health defects. To make a long story short, I called knowing what I was looking at and inquired about the puppy. I asked the price for the dog and a gentleman very happily discussed it with me and then I commented "the puppy's parents were both merle, right?" Silence..... then CLICK. HE HUNG UP ON ME. I'd love to say they don't know they are getting their dogs from unethical backyard breeders. I'd love to say that their ignorance does not a crook make. BUT THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Do not buy a dog here! You are likely to get either a sick puppy and/or a puppy with genetic defects all at pure bred healthy puppy prices! Save time and in the long run money and contact a reputable breeder for a genetically sound and healthy animal! read more

If you can't see the mother(s) of these puppies - if they refuse to show them to you, don't get them. Behind every endless supply of puppies is a mother that is being forced repeatedly to bear them, and all too often she is not taken care of, stuck in a crate day in and out and sick, thrown out when she can't do it anymore. Anyone who breeds when 2 million animals are euthanized every year is in it for one reason - for profit. 1/3rd of the animals in kill shelters at any given time are purebreeds. Plus, when you're 'blending' designer dogs, they are not purebreeds, they are designer mutts. And you're paying a lot for a mutt. To line the owners' pockets. There is no integrity here, no honor, and the animals always pay. This is from someone who has seen 30+ years of animal abuse, torture and neglect, because of overpopulation issues. Be a part of the solution, not the problem. All of the dogs areas were cleaned and all of the puppies were exited to see people, which made it a typical puppy store. I would recommend buying a puppy from here if you want one right away! Conditions for dogs are filthy. Staff is extremely negligent. "Accidentally overlooked" a heart murmur when we were choosing a puppy. When they eventually disclosed this information at the last moment prior to us picking him up they told us they would be willing to reimburse our deposit if we wanted to change our minds but it was obviously too late for us to tell the family we decided not to take him home. On top of that we aren't heartless and couldn't leave a poor possibly sick puppy in that dirty, sad wooden box they were keeping him in. So disappointed in this facility. read more

I have not purchased from the perfect puppy so I cant say how they conduct that part of business, but I am baffled by the way people bash them for being able to sell puppies. Yes, they are in cages. So is a shelter dog. Yes, they can be pricey for not coming to a breeder directly, but let people decide for themselves what they are willing to spend on their own puppy. I am all for rescuing, I have a rescue of my own, but some people want a specific breed and puppy and you cant always find it in a rescue that is willing to fly dogs to out of state adopters. Or there arent any at all. As for the puppy mill accusations, I dont know that its true, but what is disturbing is on the website it says local breeders and all the cages read Pennsylvania. So my question to Perfect Puppy is why not take down the local breeder part if it isnt true since that is misleading your costumers and others. For my last note, people saying these dogs are close to death... I can only speak for the West warwick location as I havent been to the others, and yes I have heard of the BBB reeview from someone who recieved a sick puppy in the scituate location. Things could have been handled better. However, these puppies are very active. I played with a very relaxed sleepy lookong puppy, and as soon as he was out of the cage he was running and playing and jumping. They are relaxed and bored in a cage all day that is why they sleep. My dog would do the same thing if I had her locked in a cage. As for people saying adoption is better, it is great, but it also isnt for everybody. And no matter what your never gaurenteed a perfectly healthy dog whether from breeder, rescue, or pet store. P.S. If these do happen to be puppy mill puppies, then whether you get them from a rescue after they have been breed to death or you buy them before they endure that at the perfect puppy. Avoid buying a puppy from here if possible. The puppies here are very cute but some of them are not of a clean bill of health. We bought a puppy here about 2 years ago and we immediately realized the mistake we made. Our puppy had kennel cough and worms and the store refused to cover expenses we incurred to bring our pup to health. I spoke to one of the sons of the owners about the issues but they refused to pay for the expenses. I contacted the RI DEM/Agriculture and they stated they couldn't do much but were happy to file a report against them. After repeatedly calling the perfect puppy, they stopped answering or told me they would call me back later, which of course never happened. I post this in the hopes that other people understand what they are getting themselves into before buying one of those pups.
