I always liked the convenience of this salon to Waffles & Firestone. My recent visit was a bit frightening. I requested a gel removal with cut & clear polish only. My goal was to let my natural nails grow for a few months. I was assigned to a new nail tech who spoke no English - not usually a problem. The frightening part of this experience came when she tried to sand down my nails with electric tool used to remove the gel. She began using this sanding tool on my nail which caused instant sensitivity to my finger. I asked her to stop & the owner-manager came over. Not much was said to me & no apologies. This woman showed the tech how to remove the remaining gel polish by soaking my nails with a cotton ball & acetone, wrapping in foil, and then scraping with hand tool. The tech didn't understand the technique, so she poured more acetone on my nails. The owner-manager removed the polish, cut, & filed my nails. The tech began trimming my cuticles & area around the nails but caused pain. I tried to pull away & she held my finger tightly. I stood up & walked out because of the poor communication between all of us and the fear that this inexperienced tech would injure me. New techs need to learn, but they need to be responsive to the customer. There are health & safety risks to these procedures. This salon does not value the voice of the customer & is NOT committed to safety protocols. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

This is my go to place. Even if I am not happy with something they always make it better. I've been coming to Kim for years I had a problem with my nails came in and showed her she fixed them right away and I am extremely happy they look amazing! She also provides the best pedicure in town! read more

Rose who I believe is the owner is extremely rude, she has a terrible attitude. I went to get my nails fixed after a fresh set, Rose was unpleasant and made the experience unwelcoming. Another customer also noticed and commented on her lack in customer service. Lina, however is amazing, she's been my nail tech for over 5 years! Kudos to her Rose, go get an attitude adjustment because it needs to get checked! read more

I came in as a Walk in Pedicure at opening. I was the only person being assisted. I asked for a gel pedicure but I wasn't asked the type of package I wanted, but whatever. Anyways, service was okay. Gel polish was sloppy - though I couldn't tell at the time of the application. And within a few hours, one toe nail didn't have its polish on - it was clean off the nail!! And just within 2 days, 2 more toe nails lost its polish!! So frustrating. This has never happened with proper gel polish application!! So I feel I didn't get the legit service and product that I paid for. **update: 1 week later, 4 more nails lost its "gel" polish read more

I decided to give this place a try while in the area because of their yelp reviews. Compared to other nail salons in Salinas, they had pretty high ratings, and as I read through I didn't see any reviews that alarmed me of anyone getting nail fungus or anything. So, we walk in and the place is absolutely filthy. The chairs in the waiting area looked as though snot or an open diaper were smeared across them. There was a thick layer of dust and dead flies in the window and this automatically raised an alarm for me. I double checked the reviews, and spoke to the lady sitting next to me who said she was a regular, and she reassured me they were great. As we waited, they kept seating other people and making us wait longer and longer. So my sister gets seated, and about 10 minutes later the other person in our party. Both of their manicures were completed and I'm still left waiting to be seated for mine. My sister wasn't happy with the results of hers, they left nail polish on her skin and did a very quick, sloppy job. As I continue to wait, they say another person and told me she had an appointment. I watched them use the SAME TOOLS they used on my sister and they didn't sanitize anything! At that point I got up and walked out. Another thing that bothered me is that this nail salon also offers haircuts for men. I watched them cut 3 men's hair while I waited and they never even swept in between clients. After the last one left, the lady swept about 75% of it up in a lazy manner and left the rest on the ground and walked off to do someone's nails. I can't say I would recommend this place to anyone, and I don't intend to be back next time I'm around. Crossing our fingers that the other two in our party don't get nail fungus. read more

This was my favorite nail salon. I had been going here for the past 9 years on and off. I loved going to get my nails and pedicure was amazing. This past few years they have been lacking and honestly i had given them multiple chances until today :( the older nail lady made my toes bleed and for 53 dollars she buffed each feet not even 1 minute. Cut my nails super short and crooked :( definitely will not be back after multiple chances read more

DO NOT COME HERE i got a gel pedicure and the very next day I randomly notice 4 toes are bald no gel polish it lifted off so easily I didn't even feel or notice it happening. I go the next day and ask to get it fixed but manager was extremely rude, didn't believe I had gotten my pedicure there until I showed her the transaction and even then she was very passive aggressive and seemed upset she had to fix it. She fixed it on the 7th, then yesterday on the 10th I notice 3 toes are completely bald again, no gel polish sitting on them at all. What a waste of 60 dollars seriously never come here. read more

One of THE WORST places I have ever gone too. Customer service was horrible, didn't even welcome us in. I had called an hour before for 2 full sets to make sure they had time and and I only ended up getting them done which I didn't even like nor it was what I asked for. TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL and THE worst customer service!!!!! The lady who did my nails promised me the nails I had shown her, and they did not look good at all! She does not know how to shape or detail anything! After I told her I was not pleased with them she refused to paint them over a solid color and then refused to refund me my money! Horrible experience !!! First time going there asked for mani & pedi. Nails were taking super long to dry & were getting bubbly & crusty. Washed my hands the nail polish camed off. Had them redone & nothing changed. On top of that got charged full price !! Don't waste your time & money read more

By far the best pedicure I've gotten in Salinas. The massage and sugar scrub was fantastic. I called ahead and they were able to fit me and my suegra in at the time we wanted. The salon is quiet and comfortable with music playing in the background. Ann helped me, she was great. I got gel mani and pedi and the whole experience was about 2 hours total. read more

I decided to give this place a try since they are so close to my house and it did not disappoint! I almost feel like this place is a hidden secret only a few people know about. I don't often get my nails done because of my job but since I'm currently enjoy a vacation I thought I'd get a set and pedicure before I fly out. Katie did an amazing job ! I got long almond shaped nails and I love how they are all even and THIN ! The last couple of times I got acrylic nails they were thick and uneven. Not this place ! She even helped me pick a neutral color and added holographic glitter !!! I got a different tech for my pedicure but I love how she didn't over file my toes. I do get pedicures often and the last time I went to a salon my sister recommended they over filed and over cut my toenails to the point it hurt when it started to grow out. I told the tech my concerns and she listened to me. I am extremely pleased with my experience here !! read more

I was visiting salinas for a family reunion just last weekend. I stopped here and was warmly welcomed everything was going ok up until I was actually with the nail tech. She seemed nee and didn't know what she was doing. She just sat there and stared at my nails. Then another girl came and started working on my nails. I showed her a design of what I wanted and the color I wanted and she needed up doing what she though was best. I was there for almost 3 hours and ended with a regular French tip. I was not happy at all. The lady got mad because I didn't tip. But I was extremely unhappy. My sister went with me too and she waited 2 hrs before she was sat down. And the girl attending her was hurtin her and not being careful. I love trying new places. But this one I legitimately regret. read more

I regret coming here so badly. What a waste! The older lady kim (I think that's he name) that did my pedicure did it so quick and so sloppy. Never in all my life have I ever gotten a pedicure so ugly and I mean ugly. She rushed the whole thing, she was so aggressive and making a mess everywhere. Left paint on my skin and did nothing for me. I regret getting my pedicure here so badly. She even slapped my feet. Started with a massage, cut my nails, removed some cuticles, back to a massage. When I mean the pedicure was all over the place I mean it. Don't come here for pedicures. They offered to do them again but a different lady but I have already had enough. I've been going here for years! I have moved twice and still go back to this place. It is cheaper than all other nail salons I've been to and is one of the best I've gone to as well. It's not that nice inside but the fact that the people are nice and I don't get that awkward feeling here like I do at other nail salons because of the language barrier. Here, I don't feel like they're talking about me to their coworkers and they always smile and they remember me which is also nice. It's only $25 for a mani/pedi which is such a good deal! I took my Granddaughter to Cindy to fix her hair. She freaked out during Covid and bleached her hair and Oh my god! Not only did Cindi fix the mess, my Granddaughter looked amazing once she was done! Incredible, she does fantastic work. I saw her yesterday for a Highlight and it's been a while and she fixed me up too and I feel 10 years younger. Or so I thought.. I came back a second time after being assured over the phone they could take us in, great! We're on our way! Mind you we live 35 min away. I come in with my daughter, only one of the ladies was available as soon as we walked in, fine I'll wait, no big deal. After sitting and waiting for the other person to be free (which wasn't long after we arrived) she proceeded to ignore me sitting there, walking past me MULTIPLE times, being reassured by the lady cutting my daughter's hair that they'd be right with me, and then after an hr I am told that they'd had an appointment and didn't have time for me, I understand an appointment take precedence over a walk in, but then why make me wait just to be told no?! STILL, I came back again! Trying to give it yet ANOTHER chance, this time being considerate of THEIR time and making an appointment. I show up for my appointment 10min early, she is still with her current client, no big deal, I'm early. Waiting, waiting, waiting and yes WAITING, I was barely acknowledged when I walked in, and then proceeded to be ignored while the stylist went well past MY scheduled appointment, not once offering any reassurance that she would be right with me, talking and taking her time and completely being inconsiderate of MY time. 20min PAST my scheduled appointment and STILL she talked and laughed even inviting another employee into the conversation further prolonging the other person's appointment and completely ignoring me and my time. Unless they know you personally and have built a relationship with you, don't bother coming here, you'll be completely ignored and made to feel completely irrelevant. I don't make it a habit of writing reviews, even when I've left feeling less than satisfied, however when I try so hard to give a business the opportunity to keep me coming back and they continue to give me reasons not to come back, I have to voice my experience. And no, I wasn't a Karen or rude, I simply walked out.

I got to the salon no wait only two other ladies sitting getting their nails done, I was helped by an older lady she asked me if i was getting a manicure I said "no thank you just color change" she proceeded to file my nails i said "please don't drill or file " and she right away got upset and began handling my hands like she wanted to rush the service. She proceeded to drill my hands and I felt pressured because I had already said no twice about a manicure and drilling so I allowed her to finish the job because I felt bad about waiting their time . I'm on my fifth day of my color change and the stickers I added on have peeled off I was charged more than 25 cents per sticker. The gel has also started to peel off. I don't think she could understand me but please improve on translating to those who find it difficult to communicate to customers.

Came in for a full set. I had made an appointment at 11:30. Was helped around 11:45. Wait wasn't too bad. It started out well. The tech checked and double checked her work. However, as soon as they started receiving walk ins she seemed rushed and no longer took her time. I originally wanted a French blue tip for my baby shower this weekend. And when I saw she was rushing to attend other customers I told her to just do a solid color. Hoping since doing one color was faster, she wouldn't rush through it. Of course.. I was WRONG. She left the nail polish lumpy to the touch and filed the corner of my nail roughly, breaking the skin. I had asked for coffin. But she did NOT shape them enough. I expected a lot more from a place with good reviews. I would not go back. But recommend that if you do decide to go, you make sure it's a day that's slow so they aren't rushing to finish and live up to the 4 stars they have. read more
