I did not use this company so my rating is only based on the quote. They quoted me $225 just for the trip to our Oceanside condo (about 5 or so miles) and diagnosis of my subzero, which is NOT applied to the repair. I have lived in LA most of my life and all of the companies we have used charge half this amount or less and it is applied toward the repair. We found a company in San Diego (which is much further from Oceanside) to diagnose the issue for $90 AND it is applied to the repair. I wouldn't waste my time with this company as the excessive charge and refusal to apply it to the repair is a red flag in my opinion. read more

We have a wall unit combining a microwave on top with an electric oven below. When the microwave quit heating, we were not interested in replacing this 7 year old unit. We contacted Mike and Suzanne at TipTop. Mike wasn't able to get out for a week because he was busy servicing other neighbors He waas worth the wait. Mike replaced the broken part, but he thoroughly checked everything else in the unit. He discovered a door spring/switch assembly that was also in need of replacing. He ordered the part and made the repair the next night (the night before the 4th of July) and got us up and running again. I would highly recommend TipTop and Mike and Suzanne. I only write reviews when I come across 5-Star Service. Mike and Suzanne are absolutely 5-Star people!! Our dishwasher was the problem, and because of the dishwasher manufacturer, Mike had to make 3 visits to finish the job. Each time, Suzanne was in contact to keep us advised of appointment times, when Mike would be arriving, when the dishwasher parts were coming in. He also helped us diagnose problems with our breaker (we had no idea, so thank you, Mike, for helping us there, too). Mike is extremely fair in his labor costs. When my LG washing machine started giving me the "tE" error, I tried resetting it myself. This bought me a little time, but pretty soon I couldn't clear it without resetting the machine multiple times each time I tried to do a load. So I called LG to see what they recommended, and they referred me to 3 local appliance companies who were certified to do repairs for LG. I called all 3, but as it was a weekend, I didn't expect anyone to get back to me until Monday. Long story short, the first company (who actually did answer on the weekend) sent out a plumber who just didn't inspire confidence that he had actually figured out the problem. Their quote was pretty high, so I kept looking. Tip Top got back to me, they were friendly, reasonable, not pushy at all, and Suzanne was great about trying to help me out. I had to wait for a part to come in from LG and then it was Christmas one week and New Year's the next. She was very communicative and made it really easy for me to text her photos and to arrange an appointment. Mike came out today (she text me in the morning to confirm the time and then again when he was a few minutes away) and was able to complete the repair at the price quoted (which was way less than the other guys). He made me feel confident that he knew what was wrong and was recommending the best solution. I have a 20-year-old wine fridge that stopped working, and an ice maker in my main fridge that hasn't worked for about 3 years. I just had a great experience and I have to share it! I have a LG Washer and Dryer and had issues with the dryer not drying properly. I called several companies close by and they all said we do not service LG! I called LG to refer me to a certified Tech to do the work. I went through a time consuming quagmire to get to a live body to talk about my issue. No fun, nobody close and dates to far out to help. I went to Yelp, and followed top ratings for appliance repair and found Tip Top. I called Suzann, who by the way was more than professional informative and helpful and confirmed YES! we work on LG! I immediately scheduled. Mike showed up on time and I was impressed with his professionalism and ability to quickly assess the problem. Mike ended up solving the issue and did not overcharge for anything that was not needed, as he explained exactly what the problem was and only charged me for that. I'm so grateful to have found Mike from Tip Top. I have an LG refrigerator in my garage and a GE refrigerator in the house and neither were cooling properly. I had GE out to diagnose the GE fridge and was told it needed the icing kit and freezer fan replaced. The tech didn't take anything apart and proceeded to tell me it would be $900 total to repair. Luckily, I decided to get a second opinion and called Tip Top. Mike came out and discovered the fan wasn't turning properly. He replaced it and the fridge is working now. Total charge was $336 for parts and labor!! While he was here, he also repaired the LG refrigerator, diagnosed the broken dishwasher (turns out it's more cost effective to replace than repair), and switched my dryer door to the other side for me! It was the most efficient (he had all needed parts for repair on his truck!) and effective service appointment I've ever had. I'll be getting a new dishwasher and definitely having Mike back to install it. To top it off, Suzanne in the office is friendly and efficient as well. They answer the phone, they have excellent customer service right from the very start. The repair man was here the day I called, which I know won't happen all the time, however, they could hear the frustration and helplessness in my voice and came right out. The prices are fair and I was given a one year guarantee for the work!!! They've been out a second time to make sure the dryer was in proper working order and they didn't charge me for the second service call! Microwave died from a power surge. Called for warranty service, which has expired, but was referred to local repairs. This was one, the other was in South County and had average 2 star yelp reviews. No way. Tip Top had very high reviews, and was closer. Emailed through Yelp for a quote, went back and forth with the office for scheduling, Suzanne was very accommodating. My schedule is erratic, and she worked with me. My houseguest was able to be there for the repairs, the repair guy told him everything that was wrong and fixed it. Paid via credit card over the phone, and viola! I can now heat up my coffee after I let it sit too long and get cold. Thanks Tip Top! read more
