What I observed at the time did not reflect the level of sanitation you've described in your response, which is why I felt it was important to share my concerns. In particular, the callus removal tool the technician tried to used on me resembled a cheese grater-style implement, which raised immediate hygiene concerns. Which is why I immediately told her not to use that and use a yellow disposable pumice stone. I understand that you may have established standards and protocols in place, but what I experienced in that moment did not align with those standards. Do not come here! I had an appointment and still waited 30 minutes for them to get someone to do my pedicure. They kept letting other women go in front of me refusing to give me service even though I waited patiently. They don't treat young adults with respect and let people they know personally to cut in line. I am 18 years old and just because I am young they let other women go ahead of me. I felt very disrespected after and I left. Theres really no excuse for that Marina. Respect your costumers that come on time, instead you value the ones that come late and ignore the ones that respect their appointment time. read more

This is the place to go to for nails. It is clean. They are very accommodating with appointments. The technicians are superb. They really know what they are doing. Got gel nails today and they are so pretty. I usually just get a regular manicure pedicure, which is always done perfectly. I have been going there for a while and they never disappoint. This is also a place to go to for hair also, Olena's is excellent at what she does, cut color blow dry highlights . I always walk out looking good. This is also the place to go to for skin care. I have been to Marina only a couple of times and I'm way overdue for a facial which I need to book as soon as possible. She's knowledgeable. I came here over 3 weeks and my gel manicure is still basically perfect. I work in healthcare, I am constantly washing my hands, wearing gloves, sanitizing, etc. and my manicures from other places usually last about 2 weeks. Please don't waste your time at this salon. While my pedicure was so/so, the manicure was awful. The polish was all gathered up around my cuticle and peeling up before I even left the salon, the filing also left my nails uneven where I had to fix them myself after I got home. I can do a better job polishing myself. Also, the technicians are not very nice. Used to come here all the time prior to covid. And used to love the services and prices. I've been back since and am disappointed. Was quoted one price estimate over the phone for Acrylic nails because I was going on vacation. Nothing extensive... just a simple acrylic with basic nail polish. Once it was time to pay the original quote went up by $30. I asked what the price difference was from what I was quoted on the phone verses what I got done. The man said it was because of the length, style that price is different. I used to do acrylic all the time... this literally was the most basic set... nothing too long or special and basic color but he acted like I got something extra so the price quoted was different. It's obvious they have no one working there, barley any customers any more and are trying to get paid more than what was quoted... left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Especially since I had the intentions of going back every time I go on a vacation. Upon coming back from vacation I asked for an appointment to take the acrylics off. They apparently only have one girl working there that does acrylics and takes them off too. She was the one that did my nails. When I was there to take them off she accused me of getting my nails done else where. And I was like no, I was just here a few weeks ago before vacation and you did my nails. She kept insisting that was not the case and I had gone somewhere else. Then she tried to convince me to get a fill instead of taking them off. Which I wanted them off after my vacation. The entire thing was uncomfortable and unprofessional especially the accusations. I called to make an appointment. I spoke with who I believe to be the owner. I walk in for my appointment and the place is empty-- except for the man I booked my appointment with. He told me everyone is gone, with no explanation. The very least he could've done was give me a call before I came to the shop. That was extremely unprofessional. And according to reviews corroborating my account, this is something that happens here. I don't think I would've wanted to stay at that shop anyway, however. The inside is very dark, dank and just a not visually pleasing space. It felt like a basement. After I left, I called Zen nails just a few minutes away. They fit me into their schedule and I was still able to get my nails done. They did a great job AND they actually have good business practices. Avoid this place. read more

So, i was right by here today and decided to try it. I called for a pedicure and a fill(done at the same time). The man said I could come right in. Its a cute place, with great nail polish color choices. Tons of OPI, which is my favorite! I was greeted by a nice lady, taken to a spa chair and two ladies worked on me right away. Kim did my nails and Diana did my toes. They both did a really nice job, and quickly too. Let me say, their spa chairs are the BEST! I have been to many nail salons around the valley, and the kneading setting was awesome! I could have stayed there for hours! They are twice as pricey as where i usually go, so probably will not come often. Cost me 50.00 for fill and pedicure, with callous remover. With tip i walked out spending 62.00. To be honest I was a little bit concerned about going to nail salon and get my nails done but I decided to give it a try and let me tell you that I couldn't be happier. When I called to make an appointment they greeted me very nicely and they mentioned about their new policy which on that moment I could tell that they are following the rules. On the day of my appointment right before I entered i saw that they have put all the guidelines. They check my temperature and they asked me to wash and Sanitize my hand before I start my service. They don't allow any walk ins or additional guests which is really nice and safe. Overall my experience was fantastic it was one of the best nail services I had in a while. I stopped by Tip-Top Nail Spa to inquire about services. Before I could even open the door, a man standing outside smoking a cigarette stops me. No "hello" no "how can I help you". Just "what do you want?" I said I wanted to check the services available and I attempted again to open the door. His response was a very rude "ask me". I said I'd like to just look. Afterall, what Nail salon doesn't have a list of services and prices posted on the wall or in a pamphlet? He rudely tells me again that I need to ask him. Instead, I took my waxing and mani/pedi business and my money to the very nice and welcoming salon down the street. The owner needs to go through some kind of customer service and sensitivity training. Seriously! Upon reading other reviews I've noticed a pattern that many of the people that have been refused service or given reluctant/bad service have been African American. Called this salon in a panic today because my nails were a hot mess and I needed to be seen immediately, and the owner said that I could go in right away. Got there & was waited on hand and foot. :) The place is CLEAN, the staff is friendly, and the prices aren't out of this world expensive. I got the shellac manicure, pedicure & waxing. Extremely satisfied with all. Love it! P.S. One thing that impressed me is that the owner took a broom to hand and tidied up while his staff was busy w/ clients. Nice! Only minor annoyance is that if you happen not to have cash on you & need to leave the tip w/ a debit/credit card, they will charge you $1 for it. Ugh. lol. read more

There was no additional explanation that their design person wasn't available. There was no explanation period. I was just told no one does designs. This is my favorite salon in the Valley. Marina is one of the best waxers I've ever been to. She takes her time and make sure she does a thorough job. With my last waxing experience, I would get a lot of ingrowns and now that Marina is handling me, I don't get them anymore! She knows what she is doing, folks. She also is an expert skincare specialist, so go see her for a great facial. On top of all of this, she is a genuinely nice and sweet person, such a pleasure to be around. Manicures and pedicures here have always been top-notch, and they do a great job. A lot of other places will make you feel rushed, like they want to get you in and push you out. She made an appointment in-person with the man and when she showed up to her appointment the man and his wife lied, and said she didn't have an appointment because he called but he didn't understand her. That was a lie, then he finally admitted that she in fact DID have an appointment in person, but he canceled it once he spoke with her over the phone because he didn't understand her English (another lie! My mom never called over the phone). He is very rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and racist, because my mom speaks Farsi and he doesn't like Persians or other races. BTW her English is fine, but he kept saying he did not understand her in Russian to his wife. Luckily, I speak Russian too and called him out for lying and being rude and racist. Never going here again. He over-charges and provides terrible customer service and the wife enables his behavior. Go to Zen Salon instead! They are fantastic!!! I came here a couple years ago and had a terrible experience with my manicure. I told the male manager about my experience, and he didn't care or try to make it better and just insisted to tip his employee, and when I said no, he said "it's not nice" , so he guilt-tripped me into tipping her. read more

Just got my nails done and I don't get the bad reviews. The owner was very active in keeping the place clean after each client left and setting up for the next client. I got a gel mani for $30 and a pedicure for $16. Helen did my pedicure and did a great job. Another lady did my gel mani (I wish I had remembered her name) and did a phenomenal job. She was given the wrong gel nail polish color and once I noticed she had no problem removing it and making sure I got the right color I wanted. Both were very friendly as well. At one point I started coughing and the owner brought me a cup of water (without my asking). Just a considerate obviously client centered place. Overall, I would make this a regular spot! read more

Worst nail salon I've been to (and living in LA I've been to a lot). $7 for gel removal. $20 for normal pedicure. $35 for gel manicure, one color. Expect to then be quoted two or three different other prices during the course of the visit and then paying $30 more than you were told by the time you leave. When my friend and I protested the price difference, the ladies laughed and stated to one another "it's ok, we're busy without you." I will say that the receptionist was a sweetheart and did try to get the technicians to honor the price that they first quoted us. Mind you the service we received during our nail treatment was terrible, other reviewers are right - the technicians will poke you and file too hard. If you're in the area and going to spend this amount of money go to another salon- literally ANY OTHER salon. read more

It is just upsetting when you want to take some time for yourself and the Nail Salon just do not let you enjoy your pedicure because they rather make more money in the shortest time. The person that was doing my manicure switched off my massage chair without even asking if that's was ok. $50 for a very very basic pedicure (do not expect to have soft feet after the service) and a Gel manicure. The massage of the feet and arms is less than 1minute. NO hot stones. Last but not least... everybody here is so unfriendly. They almost don't even say hello but the offer you something to drink.
