I went to Nails and Beyond for the first time today and honestly had a very mixed experience. I made an appointment specifically with Helen for a color change. At first everything seemed fine -- I asked if they had cat eye polish and they said yes, which I was excited about. Helen started my nails and applied the first layer, but when it was time to do the magnet effect, she had another employee (I believe his name was Kevin) come over to do it. The cat eye effect did not work at all. It just looked like regular shimmer polish with no actual cat eye line showing. They tried different magnets and it still wasn't working. Instead of admitting maybe the polish or technique wasn't working properly, Kevin kept insisting it was because my nails were "too narrow," which honestly made no sense. If my nails supposedly could not achieve the look, that should have been communicated BEFORE starting the service, especially since they could clearly see my nails from the beginning. What frustrated me even more was that while all of this was happening, Helen completely left and started working on another client even though she was still supposed to be doing my nails. I specifically booked with her, yet I basically got passed off in the middle of the appointment. When I said I no longer wanted the cat eye and preferred a simple pink instead, Kevin became very rude and aggressive about it. He kept arguing with me and telling me he was going to paint over the cat eye instead of removing it first, even after I clearly said I did not want that. The entire interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Thankfully, the front desk lady was extremely kind throughout the situation and tried to help calm things down, which I appreciated. Connie also ended up taking over my nails and she was wonderful. She was patient, professional, and did my nails really nicely in the end, so I was happy with the final result because of her. Overall, I think customer service and professionalism need major improvement, especially when issues come up during a service. At Nails and Beyond, a nail (or two or three) chipped by day 10. But I wasn't terribly annoyed, so I continued. But I noticed the environment was chaotic. Jess, while knowledgeable, was often surly. The male nail tech in the front was always rude and frequently mean to his customers and the entire environment was loud and not relaxing. Usually have same days appointment available. I've had great experiences here with most of the nail techs. Some I learned to avoid. But overall they have been great. They are mostly equipped with DND brand polish, and I usually prefer OPI. They have some OPI but not as much as DND. They accept cash only or zelle, which is a nice touch- no cards but they do have an ATM in the back which I've never used. Tip is through cash only. They seem pretty clean with their utensils and equipment but I've only gotten gel manicures here. Overall I would recommend. I came here with my friend for a full set and the experience was really unprofessional from the start. My friend sat down and clearly said she wanted an acrylic French tip full set. The man immediately responded asking "so no Gel X?" and when she repeated that she wanted acrylic, he told her she needed to "specify" so he would know, even though we had already called beforehand and explained what she wanted. My friend calmly said that if there was going to be an issue, they did not have to service her. Instead of trying to fix the misunderstanding, he said "we can end here," which was honestly rude and unnecessary. Before that, while we were still looking at colors after being told to take our time, another woman loudly said across the salon, "He's been ready for you, are you ready?" The whole vibe felt rushed, impatient, and uncomfortable. We left because the environment did not feel welcoming or respectful. I LOVE to come here for gel pedicures, I paid $40 for gel pedi and they included hot lotion/rock massage on my legs. My pedicure tech did a great job and she was very very kind. During my pedi I decided to ask how much Gel-x nails costs and if they did them. They said yes and it would cost starting $55. I agreed because I told them i just wanted a solid color and the gel-x service which one of the ladies said it would be $55. My Gel-x tech was actually terrible. She clearly did not know what she was doing and just plopped a bunch of gel applicator on my nails and didn't cure them right. I usually have a my nail girl I go see at her studio but decided to take a chance because my pedi was going great. I always do gel-x so I know how a good application and set should look. This lady is CLUELESS. I will update on how long these nails actually even stay on. This lady, I think her name was Eva, never even interacted with me and burned me a bunch of times with the drill and didn't even care when I would move my hand away because it hurt she was just like "careful its hot" Like girl yes it is. when she was finally done, she gave me the ticket to pay and she charged me $60 which was five dollars more than what they had told me since she was ignoring me anyways I asked the lady next to her why they were charging me 60 instead of 55 then the girl who did my nails finally looked at me and says "it's 60 because I cleaned your cuticles" the whole time she didn't even look at me or speak to me, but when it was about money, she did. they never even told me that they charge extra to clean cuticles which you would expect to be part of the service anyway. I would only return for a gel pedicure that's it. based on how this lady applied my gelX I am pretty sure they won't last a week which is $60 in their pocket and 60 in the trash for me. I was greeted with a "choose the color" and i told them what service i needed, there was many people available to work and it seems like they were all fighting against each other to not do a pedicure on me. They were all staring at me from the back and giggling. The vibe here is uneasy and customer service is bad. I did see two text who were working on the lady at the time who seemed very kind and knowledgeable of their work. I wish I would have had the opportunity to get serviced by them. While I was getting my nails cleaned and "prepped" for the Gelx application. they were all talking very loudly and would all look over at me, stare, then laugh. which just felt weird and very mean. Awful experience. I came in for a simple broken acrylic nail and left more frustrated than when I arrived. The staff were loudly arguing with each other, creating one of the most erratic environments I've ever been to and I've been to many nail salons in my 20 years of getting my nails done. One man with a very distracting, poorly done haircut started working on my nail. When I asked a basic question about why he was soaking acrylics as if they were Gel-X, he became irritated and walked away to another customer. A lady also jumped in, being extremely aggressive and upset that I even questioned why my cracked nail was being soaked. I was then passed off to an older gentleman who clearly didn't know what he was doing. In the end, all they did was cut my nail down nothing was fixed. Do not come here. I called ahead to ask if they had availability for a full new set and a pedicure. I was told yes and given a 6:00 appointment. When I arrived Brian helped me and I clearly told him multiple times that I wanted a full new set, not a fill. Brian disrespectfully told me they do not do full acrylic sets here and only do fills. He repeatedly rolled his eyes and sighed while speaking to me. I explained again that a fill was not what I wanted, yet he still went ahead and gave me a fill instead of a full new set. Later he mentioned that they close at 7:00 and that if he removed the nails and did a new set it would take too long. This is extremely unprofessional. If the service cannot be completed before closing then an appointment should not be given for that time. That is not the customer's fault. I understand closing time and worker convenience, but as a paying customer I expect to receive the service I clearly requested and was promised when I booked the appointment. I'm honestly so disappointed because I've been coming to Nails N Beyond for 4 years, but today was the last straw, I won't be going back. My appointment was at 2:30 and I still had to wait 20 minutes. Whatever, I let it slide because I've always been patient and loyal. But every time I come in, it's complete chaos, and today was no different. When the lady finally started my nails, she kept getting up every few minutes to help someone else or chat, which was super frustrating. On top of that, she was rushing, grabbing my hands, drilling way too fast, and she even nicked one of my fingers, which has been stinging all day. By the end, I noticed chunks of dried glue under my nails. When I asked, she told me it was "my real nails," which is just ridiculous. 1 Star - The Most Chaotic, Painful, and Embarrassing Nail Salon Experience of My Life- Uncomfortable Visit--Then Threats for Posting a Legal Photo I came in expecting a simple $48 regular mani-pedi. No polish, no gel, nothing fancy--just clean up my feet and hands. What I got instead was a bizarre, painful, and frankly humiliating experience that I paid $70 for by the end, without warning or proper service. Let's start with the tech, Yvonne, who claims she's been doing nails for 20 years--honestly, I'd like to see the proof, because her technique was clumsy at best and painful at worst. She didn't ask me what shape I wanted, didn't use the proper treatments or steps like cuticle oil--just went in blindly like she was speed-running a service she didn't want to do. The "spa pedicure" I was upsold on supposedly included hot towels, a scrub, callus remover, hot stones, and a massage. What I got was freezing cold towels, cold stones, and a scrub that felt like she rubbed watery lotion on my leg for five seconds and called it a day. And that hot towel treatment? Nonexistent. The massage chair didn't work at all--no power, no massage, just me awkwardly sitting there. They looked fairly new but clearly were busted or fake. My legs were aching from having to hold them up the entire time because there was no leg support. And the callus remover was a joke. She wrapped both feet in plastic wrap, but forgot one and washed the other off before it even had time to soak in. I left with one foot crusty, one injured, and no real treatment done. Speaking of injuries, she tried to remove my ingrown toenails with dull, questionably clean tools, which was painful, and when she couldn't figure it out, she just gave up and moved on. Oh--and let's not forget she squeezed actual lemons into the foot tub and onto my legs like I was a drink garnish. I've had better treatment at home with a bucket and a pumice stone. Now here's where things got extra strange: halfway through my already uncomfortable service, a woman in a blue headscarf walked up mid-pedicure and interrupted to ask how long Yvonne would be because she specifically wanted her next. While I'm sitting there. With my feet in a tub. Clearly mid-appointment. Her friend, a woman in a yellow headscarf, sat across from me and laughed at my service the entire time--like full-on chuckling at my discomfort, the massage, and even the lemon squeezing. I don't know what kind of weird energy this place has, but it was deeply uncomfortable. And then, as the cherry on top, some elder salon lady randomly draped a towel over my dress like I was indecent--an hour into my service. What?? Yvonne also didn't help me put my shoes on because she was too busy with Blue Headscarf Lady, so I was left hobbling around post-pedi with sore legs and a crusty foot. Amazing. She then asked me, "Do you like it? Will you leave a review? Will you come back?" No girl. I won't. Then she started asking where I work, where I'm from, who the man was that came in with me, and if I'm Indian, which I'm not. Wtf??? completely inappropriate and none of her business. I came for a pedicure, not a personal background check. I told the front desk how uncomfortable and unprofessional the service was, and all they did was shrug and say "okay." No apology. No concern. Just indifference. That really told me everything I needed to know. And the $50 service somehow turned into $70. Why? I still don't know. They never explained. So to recap: Tools? Dirty and dull Staff? Rude, intrusive, and chaotic Cleanliness? Highly questionable Comfort? Absolutely zero Price? Overcharged for a half-done job Chairs? Broken Atmosphere? The Twilight Zone Do. Not. Go. Here. This salon is a mess--painful, unprofessional, unsanitary, and overpriced. You'll leave worse than when you came in. Run, don't walk. Or better yet--limp, like I did after this nightmare. 1st Update: Shortly after posting, I received aggressive and unprofessional messages from the business. They falsely claimed it was "illegal" to post a photo taken in a public salon, threatened legal action, and demanded I remove it within 24 hours. "They told me, quote, 'we give u 24 hour take pic down or I will talk with my lawyer.'" Let me be clear: The image was taken lawfully, in a public setting and no part of my review violates any law or Yelp guideline. I won't be intimidated out of telling the truth. This was not a safe, respectful, or professional environment--and I would absolutely not return. 2nd Update: As if the service itself wasn't bad enough, my toenail is now infected and extremely painful--likely due to the careless and unsanitary attempt at removing my ingrown nail with dull tools. I'll probably need to see a doctor now, all because of what was supposed to be a simple pedicure. This place isn't just a bad experience--it's a health risk. read more

His shaping is so good and he is very detailed. For pedicures, I usually do gel. Pretty much all of the techs are really great. I live nearby - so I don't mind too much - but they usually run behind schedule. An appointment is a MUST, but they still typically run 15-20 minutes behind schedule. That being said, on days where I get a new set and pedicure, I'm still out within 1.5-2 hours. They are also cash only. If you don't mind a little bit of a wait, I highly recommend Nails and Beyond! Asked for gel removal and a regular manicure. While the staff is very nice and polite, my job was rushed and just not cared for. The gel is drilled off excessively- she did not even try to soak or foil them before going to the drill. I asked her to stop with the drill after more than 20 minutes of her using it on my nails- she said she was almost done. That's on me, I should have said something earlier. She also cut me while using the drill and when she switched to shaping my nails with a regular file. And she complained when I asked her to shape my nails in a sharper almond. When she finished, my nails were soooooo thin and brittle, they were easily folding and felt almost like paper! I hoped she would put some strengthner or something on them, but nothing, despite my pointing it out. She then complained while doing a regular French mani saying it's easier to do with gel... she had already refused a simple star design because she said she couldn't do it with regular polish (whatever, I was already so disappointed I just let it go). It was overall a really disappointing and upsetting appointment. Pics are of my nails immediately following the appt- this was regular polish, only 1 coat of paint. The second photo is 2 days later. My nails were thinned down so much with the drill, two nails broke in that short time. One broke all the way down and the other (index), I was able to save and file.
