    Honduran chicken tacos
    Kaneil S.

If the local Hondurans love it there is a high probability it's good. This was one of the main reasons for stopping by Tipicos. They seem to have a solid following in the area. Besides, I just had to try another culture's take on Tacos. I had the chicken Tacos and I enjoyed them. There were lots of great flavors from the pickled onions peppers and cheese. The chicken was wrapped in the tortillas and covered in all the toppings. Give them a try if you're in the mood for something a little different from your regular tacos.

I came to this particular restaurant after seeing an average of four and a half stars on yelp and the fact that they had Honduran food. I was hoping that they would have papusas (somewhat of an obsession for me), but alas not. Or at least I assume not as I did not see papusas on the menu. I will say that there is a serious language barrier. So much so that a very nice gentleman had to translate my order for me. I ended up going with the baleadas, which this gentleman described to me as something like a taco. I asked him if they were small and if I should get two. His English was also not the best and he said yes. Obviously, something got mistaken in the interpretation because these things were huge. I would liken them more to a burrito than a taco and one would have been more than sufficient. I ordered one with carne asada and the other with chorizo. There was not a lot of meat with them, but they had avocado, egg, refried beans and more inside so they definitely fill you up. I will say that I preferred the carne asada to the one with chorizo. Maybe if they had the prices advertised, I would have guessed one would be enough. Anyway, they were six dollars each and after tax, my order was just over thirteen dollars. I don't know how taxes work, but I guess they charged me for using my credit card, as well. I ate my lunch in my car. This is a food truck and they have a few tables, but I would suggest that you plan on taking it to go or eating it in your car. As I said, the food was good and the overall experience was definitely a positive one. I would recommend that you check this place out.

Carne asada baleada was good. Tajadas with chicken was also very good. Didn't care much for the chicharon, but the pastelitos de carne was tasty.

Must say I was impressed with this place. I always see it packed when driving by, so figured I'd check it out. Got the burrito and a Coke for nine dollars, which is a good price. The burrito was very good... Never had one with avocado before, but it added some flavor. The young man who helped me was very sweet, and explained The menu items as I don't speak Spanish. I recommend checking out. They only have outdoor seating, but very clean and shaded for the summer sun

    So the Pescado/Fish was delish!

Our family had a Sunday after-church tradition of lunch at a seafood/fish taco truck in San Diego. So we've been on the search for Jacksonville's equivalent. This is a good start. Although the menu is entirely in Spanish, with no prices, the young man behind the counter was gracious in his explanations (in English). Our kids really enjoyed the Pescado (Fish and plantain chips), $10, and my wife and I loved the Carne Asada (steak), $9. FYI tajada means a type of non-crispy fried green plantains. The slaw with the Tacos, $6 for 2, might've been my favorite part. It's full of pink onions and a little crumbled cheese from the tacos. The tacos are simple chicken filled rolled tacos. The food takes about 10 minutes to make, so call ahead if you're in a hurry. It appears that's what a lot of the regulars do. Although the horchata isn't home made, it's still a big ol' cup and refreshing enough.

Tacos Honrudenos- rolled tacos filled with shredded chicken

Fantabulicious!! Drive by this permanent food truck establishment every weekend and finally had to stop and try their Honduran food. Totally blown away by the flavors and freshness. The Carne Asada con Tajadas was packed with seasoned steak over sliced plantains, a cabbage slaw with pickled red onions, beans and salsa. The Tacos Honrudenos consisted of 2 large rolled tacos filled with shredded chicken, smothered in this yummy sauce, cabbage slaw, crumbled cheese. It was a party in my mouth! Highly recommend! Was here on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy with a steady stream of locals coming and going.

Excellent service. DELICIOUS empanadas. All around great experience. Very mom and pop. They were family oriented and brought my son out a drink free of charge. The steak was cooked to perfection. They were packed and it's totally like a hole in the wall. This place is delicious. Would totally and WILL be returning.

It had a nice kick so I was sold. I watched him make the hot sauce when I arrived to place my order. So you know everything is fresh! I ordered 6 bone-in wings. The wings were cooked perfectly, crispy outside and juicy inside. And I really loved his spicy hot sauce used to toss the wings. But if you don't like heat don't order the hot wings. I suggest ordering a different wing flavor. I only ordered the hot wings as there were no healthy side options. And if you are in a hurry don't order here as it will take a hot minute. Since then I have been to their physical location a few times. I have placed an order to go at the restaurant and online. They do not offer many options for customizations on their online ordering. However, did have to wait a long time in line but that's how popular the food truck was at the market. It was pretty busy and the line didn't die down while we were shopping the market. We can't speak for ambiance because it was a food truck at a market. The dish was very good, and filling. Despite ordering it as a spicy, it wasn't that spicy. The portion size was pretty good and great for lunch. A nice little surprise.
