I took my son here for the first time last week. (Not his first haircut ever, but first time at Tipperary). We LOVE this place. We came around noon on a Friday so they weren't super busy which was great because my kiddo can get squirmy. Wendy cut my son's hair and that haircut took almost 45 mins, and I say that as a good thing. Like most 4 year olds, he has a hard time sitting still for long period of time. She was so patient with him, didn't mind stopping to remind him where to look or to stay still while she snipped. She brought him a toy to play with and got my help when he was struggling. And she was patient with me in figuring out the right length and shape for the cut I was looking for. She gave him gorgeous layers and cut off more when I asked her to bring the front/sides closer up toward his ears. She used her thinning shears to give his thick head of hair some nice bounce and texture. And at the end, he got a token to get a little toy from the gumball machine Honestly I couldn't be happier with our experience and with the cut.

Perfect example how people take there clients for Granted!! Had worse time with Elizabeth!! just because she has to go early she completely ignored what I asked her (or didn't bother to ask what we are looking for ) We took three months time to grow my son's hair and in two minutes... I was regretting why I chose this place !!!!!! Never coming back !!!! Very unprofessional!! Too ignorant towards job!!!

    Before... Mullet? 1970's?

The worst part tho is how rough the stylist was with my 4 year-old. Sunday we took our 1yr old for his first baby haircut as mentioned to the lady who helped us we were there for the baby 1st haircut service, she hurriedly did the cut, baby was being kinda fuzzy and she started doing the cut when I held him she didn't offer me a cape , i kept asking her to part the hair nicely even tried to take the comb from her hand so she would let me do it bcuz she was cutting and cutting and i told her i wanted the line done but was ignored (when i part his hair now there are hair that stand up bcuz they are different sizes when i do my babies hair) . Nothing gel cant help and the hair will grow. When she was done she blew the hair off the baby all over my face. My son had hair all over his face and hands she didn't brush him off nothing!! She offered me the bathroom to wash him by the time I got back she had already moved on to the next client. There was nothing special about the cut the moment to cherish baby 1st haircut was not a nice experience. The advertisement said 36$ with a certificate, picture and lock of hair. We got charged 50$ no certificate no picture just a tiny ziplock with hair. I really hope this is just a one time thing but just left disappointed and what was supposed to be a special day was just not.

But, as a parent, I didn't even know my child had live until the school told me. Even with all the studying, I didn't see anything and just thought it must be a false alarm. I mean, I didn't see any of the bugs I remember from my textbooks. Then again, (once common sense sinks in), those pictures ARE magnified like 1000X. I digress. Anyway, as soon as the school told me at pick up, I immediately googled lice treatment and found Tiny Locks. The owner Kim matched me with Nancy and she was FANTASTIC! I love the fact that they come to our house. My daughter who is usually pretty shy quickly warmed up and was conversing with Nancy. Nancy did show me exactly what I was supposed to see and what the lice actually looked like (in their regular size). I also love that they used non toxic sprays. I'm so glad I didn't attempt to do this on my own, at least for the first time because, again, I wouldn't have even known what to look for before. But also, I'm a bit squeamish, so I probably would have screamed the first time I found a bug. But Nancy was patient, meticulous, and provided me with an even better education than school that now I know how to help prevent/reduce re-infection. Thanks Tiny Locks!

I have been coming to Mèche for going on three years now and I will keep coming until someone gives…read moreme a compelling reason not to, which has not happened yet. Let me be clear about something first. I did not stumble upon this place. I researched it before I even relocated to Los Angeles from Frankfurt because I was not going to spend six months finding a colorist by trial and error. My hair is not a trial and error situation. I found Tracey Cunningham's name within about forty minutes of research and Mèche followed naturally from there. I see one of her colorists on the team rather than Tracey herself because I am not a celebrity and I do not pretend otherwise, but the level of work coming out of this salon is consistent across the board and that tells you everything you need to know about how the place is run. My color is what I would describe as a very natural cool blonde. Nothing that announces itself. Nothing that looks maintained even though it absolutely is. That is exactly the brief and it is executed perfectly every six weeks without me having to repeat myself or bring reference photos like I am explaining something to someone for the first time. We have an understanding and I value that more than I can properly articulate in a review format. The cut I get from my stylist is precise and quiet. I do not want a conversation about what we could try differently. I want the same excellent result I got last time. This is accommodated without making me feel like I am being difficult, which I appreciate. The atmosphere is more relaxed than what I was accustomed to in Germany. There is a looseness to it that took some adjustment on my part. But the work does not suffer for it and eventually I stopped noticing. The products used are serious, the consultation at my first appointment was thorough and unhurried, and nobody has ever tried to upsell me something I did not ask about which is a boundary I appreciate being respected. Parking on Burton Way requires patience. That is my only note. If you are looking for a salon in Los Angeles that treats your hair like it matters and treats you like an adult who knows what she wants, this is the correct answer.

My hair ended up with a lot of breakage. I'm assuming a high level of bleach was used to process the light color faster due to the rushing. I've had people take 4+ hours to process the same color and my total appt time was about 3 hours. Given these things along with the high price point and drive for me, I likely won't be back.

Now we all know that someone to touch our hair it has to be built on trust. I felt I had finally found my niche, I had came to Lidia I couple times to do cut, color, style. So at this moment I was a loyal client and would go to her in the future. Now some things slipped through the cracks while making my appointment. A couple months back I was ready to make a change and reach out a couple of time via phone and in person and the lack of communication failed. No biggie, I wanted to get my hair done here and nowhere else. Thought third time would be the charm so I stopped in person again and saw the owner Lidia. I mentioned that I was ready for a change and discussed what I wanted, I also asked for her colleague because even tho I had paid for a senior stylist her assistant at the time helped me ol half of the time. Again I did not say anything even after being hosed down during our first session. Decided to let it go. Well I indeed asked if she was available since I knew her as well and knew her prices were slightly different. However I was advised that they were actually the same. They did advise me they had someone knew with lower prices if I were interested. I was happy they were expanding but as I mentioned I was loyal to the person who already doing my hair. I had built a relationship and I was satisfied with the work being done. I requested to be booked with Lidia for my service. Now I know she's not there all the time so we can to coordinate a date where she was here on a weekend. I even requested a quote just so I would have an idea. Done! And received a confirmation. I had to reschedule and booked out for a month later. However the day before my services I received an email and saw a name I did not recognize. So I decided to text and confirm. I was advised that it was not with the owner but with a junior stylist because I had requested someone with lower prices. I was confused because I never asked, I was informed but because I didn't know her I was not comfortable moving forward with her. I then began receiving messages that if I didn't show then I would be charged, oh and the owner was not there so she wouldn't be the one doing my hair. I would however have the person (whom I don't know) do my hair because I "requested them". I tend to be clear, I don't know where the miscommunication came from. I've even received an original email that I was booked with the owner. I requested a call because I know I would never book with someone that I'm not comfortable and now have to be stuck in with. A lot of back and worth which wasn't leading anywhere. Neither of us felt that we were in the wrong, I was told I can book with the owner when she is in but at this moment I felt so uncomfortable and would be so awkward that I'd rather lose business with. I felt there was no accountability taken and I was convinced that I would be charged if I didn't show up with my appointment with someone I did not book.
