Food was fine, and it was much better 2-3 years ago; I believe the management has changed several times. This isn't upsetting, but I definitely found it weird that in the dining room there was a filing cabinet along with a full table of clutter and supplies. The whole place just didn't seem super organized or put together. The wings were good, I thought the tteokbokki was fine as well. I didn't have the bulgogi fries this time but those used to always be my favorite. Staff were nice to us, a little bit slow to get to the table even though it wasn't busy, but it happens sometimes.
Tasty Chicken, anyone? (Me? Why, of course!) I'll admit, I'm a pizza and wing snob--I'm pretty cheeky about where I spend my money. So, when I found myself near this joint after a ruthless grocery run, I decided to take the plunge. I ordered a batch of wings: decent size, wonderfully fried crispy, and deliciously juicy on the inside. My preference is for plain wings with sauce on the side. Here's the rub: While they clearly know how to fry a wing to perfection, the "naked" wings were flavorless. They were essentially a blank canvas waiting for a masterpiece. I know many places fry wings with minimal seasoning, but folks, let me be honest: The sauce isn't just an addition here--it's a requirement. The wings rely 100% on whatever dip you choose to make them good. Now, let's talk about the real reason you should consider stopping here: The fries!!!! Holy moly, these French fries were absolutely stellar! They were everything you want: perfectly crispy exterior, soft interior, and seasoned just right. If you are a fan of good fries (not just passable ones), this is a must-order. As much as I loved those magnificent fries, the overall value is a little tough to swallow. The wings are pricey, and the fact that the plain version lacks any decent seasoning is a deterrent. Am I likely to return? Probably not... unless I'm having a serious, life-altering French fry craving. My official Return Factor: 15% (100% of that is for the fries.)
This place was awful and over priced, came here with a group of 4 people not a single person liked the sweet and spicy, honey butter wasn't much better only decent flavor was the soy garlic, upon arriving, sat down to a semi empty restaurant somehow still waited roughly 8 minutes for the lady to come and take my drink order and apparently my food order at the same time, never came back around for a refill or to ask how the food was will never come back here again, will continue to tell everyone I know to stay as far away as they can
"Double-Fried Delight: Tipsy Chicken Gets It Right" Tipsy Chicken in Mesa brought me right back to the Korean fried chicken spot I really enjoyed in Seoul years ago. We ordered the 7-piece bone-in chicken wings with sweet and spicy and honey butter sauces, and it delivered on every level. The double-fried crunch was perfect, the meat stayed juicy, and both sauces were excellent--the sweet and spicy had a nice kick, while the honey butter was rich and addictive. The fried mandu and fried rice rounded out our meal nicely, giving us a satisfying variety of flavors and textures. The vibe is casual and unpretentious, which I appreciated. We even brought our own boba drinks and no one batted an eye. It's the kind of spot where you can just relax and enjoy good food without any fuss. Service was friendly and efficient. If you're craving authentic Korean fried chicken without the plane ticket to Seoul, this place hits the spot. Worth the visit.
Where to start ... 1. Service was subpar, I think we saw our server for the menu, drinks handed to us, food dropped off then the bill. 2. For being a KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) joint there were not a lot of KFC options. I was honestly confused by that. 3. Aesthetics? All over the place. There was Warhammer games being sold? I don't know? The modelo beer cartons holding the soy sauce? Huh? I didn't understand the vibe of this place. Was it Korean themed? Bar themed? Gaming themed? 4. The KFC, was indeed crispy. I don't know if it was a cornflake batter or what but these were crispy oh and BIG! Worth the price, 7 will absolutely fill you up. They chicken itself was bland not the outer crust but the chicken. Once you were past the sauce and crispy and just chicken itself was bland. The sweet and spicy had a tang to it that made your nose start watering. I probably wouldn't be back only based on the overall ambiance and experience. Seriously, no hate. I just didn't understand the aesthetics. If I were in the area I world try something else.
Randomly ended up here with my friend for dinner. We ordered 14 KFC wings. Half garlic soy and half sweet and spicy. The crunch factor on the chicken wings were great and the soy garlic was yummy! The service was slow, the decor didn't make any sense to me and was a bit confusing lol if I'm honest. Like nothing made sense. All the workers stood or sat around the bar area, the music was being flipped through the entire time we were there and just wasn't very professional.
WOW. I almost can't post any words because I am speechless. This was such a delicious treat. Hubs and I stopped by here before a visit to HMart and what a smart move that was! The service was great, the location was clean, and the food was perfection! We got the Bulgogi beef entree, pork belly cheese corn, and sweet & spicy fried chicken. Everything was easily 15/10!! Flavors were all savory, the chicken was light, juicy, and thicc! So good and can't wait to go back. ***also huge plus, I am a mother of toddlers and one of them is still in diapers. I was so so pleasantly surprised when I used their very clean and inviting restroom. So nice to see a very clean changing table with complimentary gloves, wipes, and padding. That is very thoughtful and unexpected.
What we got : Pork belly corn cheese: *with mini shrimp added* ( idk if this is supposed to be this way but the mini shrimp still had the shells on so if you don't like it and don't want that crunch don't get that or try the corn and shrimp appetizer) Tasted good pork belly was juicy and thick and aloooot of cheese is added only con is the cheese becomes hard after a few minutes of being torched infront of you leaving hard large clumps of cheese just felt like I was eating just cheese half the time Chicken fried rice : very crispy chicken and dipping sauce is flavorful for sure Bulgogi plate: tasted like any other one I've had soaked in flavor and good ! Bulgogi W/ Fries: fair portion, thick fries and had a good sauce on top Side of kimchi : was alright alittle bland then I've had at other places and they charge $2.00 for it wasn't told about that as I'm used to just getting it for free and not charged was surprised to see that on my receipt probably let people know about that They have a small warhammer section oddly enough that you can purchase some stuff for figure painting etc.. super random but awesome to see!!
Food - The korean bbq crispy chicken original came out hot. The coating was pretty light, and I liked that. I didn't think it tasted too spicy. I wasn't a fan of the two sauces we got. I like the sauces at other places better. Sweet and spicy was too sweet for me. Soy and garlic was just okay, not too memorable. The pho had good flavor. It did have a hint of five spice. I don't usually get the five spice flavor at my usual pho place. I could do without it. It did seem a little greasy. At my usual place, I also don't find the soup to be greasy. They had the usual lemon slice, bean sprouts, and thai basil. Atmosphere - No strange or strong odors or smells. I did not visit the restroom. It was not very busy inside. Only a couple tables were full. Service - There were about three or four employees. The service here was good. Order and pay at the table. Self seating. They bring the food out to you. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. Saw a health rating on Yelp afterwards. They got a B as of this writing.
So I only tried their bone in fried chicken, 14 pc, honey butter sauce on the side. It was meaty, good white chunky meat and crispy skin. My only problems were the sauce, it seemed watered down and almost flavorless? And each piece, drum stick or wing just seemed smaller than I expected, I thought there'd be more pieces like chicken breast or something. I would just try a different flavor next time but employees were super friendly and attentive.
This was our first visit. We found them on yelp and decided to give it a try. I'm sure glad we did! We were greeted when we walked in and were immediately sat. We had a great server that answered all our questions. We decided to the Manchu (pan fried dumplings) and they were delicious! We also ordered the Tipsy fries, they were also hot and delicious! Our entree we had the bone in Korean fried chicken. Oh man....it was SO GOOD! The restaurant itself was much to look at, but the food was So GOOD! We will have to make this one of our regular take out places. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes. Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the Manchu (potstickers) .
We heard good things and the reviews looked promising, but our experience was extremely disappointing. Service took forever just to get drinks, soda and water included, and the food took even longer. There were maybe six people dining in, a few takeout orders, and three servers, yet nothing moved efficiently. The servers seemed more focused on taking selfies than taking orders or bringing out drinks. One person in our party ordered chicken fried "ONION" rice, and it honestly seemed like they put an entire onion into the serving. The chicken fried rice came out about 15 minutes before the Korean fried "chicken wings," which made no sense. but i guess worked out because she didn't eat any of it! it was disgusting! We took it home and fed it to our chickens! BTW, they thought it was delicious!! The chicken fried rice was just a leg and thigh placed on top of a bed of bland, flavorless rice, with what looked like a salad where the vegetables were barely chopped. When the Korean chicken wings finally arrived--after waiting 30-45 minutes--they had zero flavor and were extremely chewy. We're honestly glad we tried Tipsy Chicken once, so we never have to come back. We're really bummed that we wasted our hard-earned money and time that we'll never get back. It feels like the Yelp platform is becoming overcrowded with people trying to be influencers and leaving five-star reviews for mediocrity
We were so excited to try this place and happy they finally opened. Service was great, the staff was very attentive and nice but don't expect your chicken to come out fast. Fries was cooked perfectly. The tipsy sauce it came with tasted like typical sriracha and mayo. Truffle Mayo was good too. The Chicken was cooked to perfection! so crispy, juicy and HOT. My bf and I only ate one of each since the sauce it was tossed in was pretty salty (i would order some white rice on the side). Soy Garlic was good but I wasn't a fan of the sweet&spicy. Spice level was a 1. Drinks didn't come out the same time which was a little weird but I'm sure everyone is still training. Above the Cloud tasted like canned Lychee juice and Rose, wasn't strong (definitely pretty for the gram but i would skip) My bf got the Day Booster which was very refreshing and delicious. This place is perfect for a night out when you're drunk and have the munchies. We would come back to try their other sides and maybe the original flavored chicken. Food: 4 stars. We ordered 14 pieces of boneless Korean fried chicken (KFC) and the bulgogi fries. We chose Sweet & Spicy flavor for 7 pieces and Sweet Fish Sauce Glaze for the other 7 pieces. Both were delicious. Crispy crunch to the batter and juicy, generous portions of chicken. I would recommend eating with steamed rice though (we had some leftovers and ate with steamed rice at home the next day). It didn't come with any steamed rice which is disappointing, so maybe that's something they could consider adding to their menu. The cubed pickled radish that comes with the Korean fried chicken is a great balancing banchan (side dish) to the meal. Adds a refreshing crunchy bite. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because I bit into some bones on multiple pieces of "boneless" Korean fried chicken. If the chef/food prepper took a little more time in making sure their boneless chicken pieces didn't have any bone shards that the unassuming customer could bite into and possibly crack their teeth, then it would definitely be a 5 star review. Bulgogi fries were good - generous portioned, crispy seasoned fries, melted cheese and good amount of bulgogi. Service: 5 stars. We walked up to the bar and ordered to-go for me, my wife and mom. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. He added that 7 pcs of KFC is more than enough for one person so that helped us gauge on what to order for 3 people. So the 14 pcs of KFC and bulgogi fries was more than enough for the 3 of us (granted, we are 3 smol asian people lol). Always appreciate friendly, helpful people in the service industry, which seems to be more rare to find these days. Ambiance: 4 stars. Walking in, it felt like a night club/lounge. The bar is the first thing I see from the entrance. There's no hostess or anyone to greet you at the front so I stood at the entrance for a second to figure out where I could go to order for take-out. Luckily the person behind the bar greeted us to ask if we needed a table. That's when I walked up to the bar to ask for a menu and ordered. As a new dad, I was thinking/looking for a place to possibly sit down and eat with my 2 month old baby, but decided on take-out instead because of the ambiance. Definitely does not scream family friendly. But for sure a chill spot for date night. Overall 4 stars. Would recommend but there's room for improvement. Honestly if the "boneless" KFC didn't have bone shards, I would have given 5 stars. read more

The place has taken over what used to be Po Chicken.. and this is my first time here since the switch happened... my friend and her kids ordered the fried chicken while I ordered the corn cheese and the chicken sandwhich.. overall Everything tasted good.. but I had to take a couple stars away bc once 1) none of our foods came out at the same time.. so while I waited for my friend and her kids food came out bc I didn't want to be rude.. my food got cold.. 2) once all the food came out the staff totally forgot about us.. which was kinda unfortunate but other than that.. the food was good.. read more

We want some Korean fried chicken and found this spot in Mesa. The flavor was on point. We ordered half Sweet & Spicy and half Honey Sriracha wings. The Thai iced tea was just right (not sugar downed). The staffs are friendly and the place was vibing. Highly recommended and definitely be returning. read more

We been meaning to write a review for tipsy Chicken for a while now. But Tipsy Chicken is def our fav Korean wing place in all of the valley!! Their fish sauce wings are our fav but the other flavors are good as well! Wings are big af too, not those itty bitty one bite chicken wings. Got to order the mandu ( dumplings) and the bulgogi fries if you don't get anything else! The portions to prices are proportionate you def pay for what u get and that is quality Korean style food!!! read more

The tipsy fries were my favorite, they were crispy, cheesy, and loaded with toppings. The tteokbokki was also very good, it had a nice chewy texture and a spicy sauce. The kimchi fried rice was flavorful and had a generous amount of kimchi. The chicken wings were a bit too saucy for my liking, but they were still crispy and tender. The spicy flavor was really hot, the garlic soy was sweet and savory, and the fish sauce was tangy and salty. The service was decent, the staff was friendly and attentive. Ate at Tipsy Chicken the other day (near Hmart) with a friend visiting from Denver and my husband. We ordered chicken sandwiches, bulgogi fries, lychee cocktail and kimchi fried rice. The crispy chicken sandwich was good! Tender and juicy and crispy. Hubby requested kimchi mayo to be on the side. I loved the mayo. Fries were also deliciously crispy and perfect. I dipped the fries into the mayo--mm! Bulgogi fries were decent too. Hubby's lychee cocktail was so yummy and didn't even taste like alcohol (so dangerous! ). I could probably drink four of these at once, they are so good! They also offer flavored soju if you prefer that Kimchi fried rice with spam was only okay. I prefer it when the spam is flash-fried till crispy! I probably wouldn't get this dish from here again tbh (just wasn't to my liking flavor-wise), but everything else was pretty good. Tipsy Chicken also has good original, garlic and sweet and spicy chicken flavors that I've tried previously before. I think prices here are a bit on the high side, but inflation, ya know? I like the ambiance of this place, it has a trendy bar-like atmosphere and they always play vibey music! Service was ok, we occasionally had to flag our server down, but they were always pleasant and friendly. Overall, we would definitely go again. read more

I really love Korea Fried Chicken and I think this has some of the best in the east valley. Conveniently located near the H Mart. This place has great service and awesome food. The the restaurant is clean and well-maintained and the staff are very professional and easy to talk too. I came in for a late afternoon snack really craving some sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken and I was not disappointed. The fried chicken here is so delicious and crispy and crunchy. I ate one whole plate of it and had to order another batch of fried chicken to take home with me. Simply amazing!!. I also ordered the cheesy corn which is so addictively good. Definitely my top pick for appetizers here. My advice is to get in here get some awesome KFC! read more

Have tried other KFC in the east valley and this one is probably by far our favorite. The skin is crispy and it's so good when it's hot and fresh! My favorite is the original. We also enjoyed the spicy rice cake & sausage on a stick. Out of all the KFC we've tried in the east valley- this is probably our favorite so far. Servers were really attentive. If I were to compare tipsy to bbq chicken, I prefer tipsy more since there's more seating and they have a full bar. read more

The pho here was delicious and there's not as many tasty pho places found in this area, so big kudos to this Korean hot spot! Customer service was friendly, attentive and fast. The portion size from one bowl which looks like it can feed enough for 2 people is at a reasonable price. Everything from the broth, the meats, to the noodles, and the freshness of the herbs is above par. I liked that the huge bowl came with a warm plate underneath which helped the broth to stay at a perfect hot temperature the whole time while eating. (The only recommendation is a bigger size spoon is needed, as mine kept falling into the bowl.) Also another plus is with the to-go order size...they don't skimp out on anything, extra generous portions for a very great value too!! read more
I LOVE THIS KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN! They do it right, crispy exterior and juicy flavorful interior. They don't have a lot of flavors because you don't need that many choices because each one is delicious, but do be warned their spicy one packs heat. Each set of wings is served with a side of pickled daikon and I would recommend pairing it with one of their cheese based appetizers. The cheese corn is torched at the table and is a nice sweet and savory convo. Service is fast and efficient. If you want some Korean drinks and bar food, this is the place! read more
This was my first time trying Korean fried chicken and it was delicious. I learned that they double fry it so no wonder it is so crispy but somehow still super juicy on the inside. We tried 3 of the 4 flavor options available: soy and garlic, sweet and spicy, and original. All of them were tasty. We also tried the Rosé Tteokbokki which if I had to compare it to something, it tastes similar to vodka pasta sauce. For drinks, they have the classics like beer and sake along with some cocktails. We ordered the Milky Way pitcher which is cass beer with milkis (milky carbonated drink) and it was surprisingly good. Service was good and attentive. This spot is on the pricier side for both food and drinks so keep that in mind. The vibes are Korean late night street food: fun place to come with friends. read more

Tipsy Chicken is the latest popular Korean eatery in the H-Mart plaza. While the fried chicken was tasty, I would go to any other Korean restaurant for sides. The entire restaurant was filled despite it being a Wednesday night. We still nabbed a table but there was a waitlist placed out front if it was packed. Our orders were taken quickly but the kitchen was extremely slow. Drinks came out after 15 minutes and food after 30. The staff was friendly but we were barely checked on. Highly recommend ordering everything at once because no one will come around to help. =ORDERED= *Above the Clouds: stellar cocktail that was light and fruity. Thick egg white foam and prominent lychee flavoring that went down smoothly. Yuzu wasn't apparent so don't expect a citrus forward taste. *7 Piece Fried Chicken: had three possible flavors of original, soy garlic and sweet and spicy. Selected soy garlic and opted in for their 1 cent Cassio deal for any chicken order. The chicken was incredibly juicy and while the batter was on the thicker side, it was crispy and coated nicely in the sauce. The soy garlic was a nice balance between sweet and savory. Since the sauce was sugary, the beer was a good pairing. Came with a side of crispy radish as a palate cleanser. *Corn Cheese: very disappointing and lukewarm. The pan wasn't hot when it was brought out and although our server torched the top, the dish was partially congealed already. Was the last item presented and I would have preferred it to be brought out fresh. Great emphasis on the cheese but not on the corn. *Rose Tteokbokki: watery and had an artificial aftertaste. The rice cakes weren't cooked all the way through and were tough. The sauce only had spice and slid off the rice cakes given the poor viscosity. Instead of creamy cheese or rose flavor, the sauce tasted like uncooked cheese powder. Worst dish of the night. I hope to see an expansion in alcoholic options and better execution in other dishes. Personally found the ambiance to be lacking and slow so I wouldn't dine in and opt for takeout instead. The selection of appetizers were reasonable priced and sized but the flavors weren't well thought out. Considering the wait, I expected so much more and salt would have done wonders. Stumbled upon this place because my family and I were trying to eat at the KBBQ place next door, but we didn't want to wait in line! I'm so glad we got to try this place! We ordered 7 pieces of the original fried chicken and an order of the pork belly corn cheese. It was enough food to feed the three of us! And oh! The fried chicken was soooo good. It was fried to perfection and the chicken was so juicy! The pork belly corn cheese was also very delicious. The server melted the cheese with a torch in front of us, it was a cool experience to watch! The pork belly was so flavorful and I loved how fatty the pieces were. One thing I'll like to mention is that the lights inside are very dim. It's kinda like a nightclub in there with the tv's playing music videos, but it's still a nice environment. Not too dark where we can't see our food! I would like it to be a little brighter if I had a say in it. I'll love to come here again the next time I'm in town! Food was good here. We ate here around lunchtime and it wasn't too busy, service was quick and they were attentive. chill vibes, but a little dark given it was lunchtime. We got the soy garlic, chicken, and the sweet and spicy chicken. Both had really juicy inside chicken, and was dripping with sauce. The outside was crispy, though it was mostly due to them, having a lot of breading, rather than the frying itself. I think normally I prefer more breading, but this is probably a little bit too much. however I wonder if the excess breading allowed for the sauce to really soak into the chicken which stood out! Fries were absolutely amazing. Their sauce was also great. Of all things, the white rice was probably the worst part of the meal and was a little dry. read more
I really wanted to love this place; my husband and I needed a late night place to eat and we were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away coming here, it was moderately crowded around 11pm but we were enticed to stay by the delicious smell of Korean food and ordered a drink and some dishes. The staff were perfectly pleasant and attentive, but unfortunately after about an hour, we only received two of our 3 orders; We were asked if we were okay, but we were missing our chicken order. The waitress then reported to us that the kitchen 'forgot our chicken order' and asked if we wated it to-go so we agreed and boxed up our leftovers and left unsatisfied. I will say I really liked the dishes we did receive enough to recommend the place. I'm not sure if we would return, perhaps with friends to give them another chance and because they're open so late. it's a poppin option and I appreciated the kind service from the staff. read more

We checked out this place finally after craving korean fried chicken and we really liked it. Tasted authentic and the other dishes we ordered were tasty as well. I personally really liked the Cheesy Corn. Service was very good. They kept coming and checking in to see if we needed anything. The food came out at a good rate. This spot is small and has a really nice vibe to it. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the 7 piece sweet and spicy wings and my aunt ordered the 14 piece half sweet and spicy/half soy and garlic. Had I known how big the wings were, I would have just shared her order with her. I tried both flavors and they were both very tasty. The sweet and spicy had a nice spice to them which I enjoy, and the soy and garlic had the perfect balance for wings. I orders the day boosted cocktail that actually was very tasty. Being someone who likes a little more alcohol in his beverage, I would have certainly enjoyed just a smidge more rum added to this cocktail. This place this the best, the service was so good. The food was amazing and hot. They gave use the corn cheese first then our fried chicken came right away. This place it's pretty amazing the staff was so nice. The ambiance of the restaurant was popular when it was getting for late. There was like a quite background noise but to be honest i don't remember. 100% recommending this place. read more
