Some of my favorite bites are the Santa Salsa dog, Criminal burger, and the Loca Fries (some of the best Fries in the city, and I don't say that lightly! Perfectly crisp each time). I'm kinda annoyed. The bartender literally took a lady's order. Walk down the bar. Came back and said that was the last order.. I'm trying to take it personal being I'm not a cute girl... but fuck to cut me off a minute later sucks... really sucks cause I'm really hungry and this place has good food. Just suck that I felt it had to do with my gender or my look.. that I was denied food.. it's not even midnight yet and literally barely a minute later.. saw me standing and waiting. Then to be like nooooooooooo.... Sucks when all the pretty ladies got their food... sucks I'm just wondering why... am I just not wanted in a "Latin" bar??? My money isn't good??? I'm so hungry it's making me very angry read more

The hot dogs alone are worth a trip, but just about everything here is great. Came here on a chili night for a dog and some yuca fries, ended up enjoying a pina colada and some loca fries (bacon and cheese) and would come back! Set right in the cool part of Bushwick, the bar is great to sit at and they have stickers everywhere - totally compliments the "street hot dog" vibe. Myself and my friend ended up both getting the Santa Salsa hot dog - big recommended, but I really could've had just about anything on the menu, and need to come back for the burgers and sandwiches, as well as the insane amount of great dogs on the menu. The Santa Salsa dog really was delicious. Piled almost too high but every bite was tasty and it wasnt a mess! I love that green sauce so much and will ask for sides of it next time as the yuca fries went great with the sauce as well. The yuca fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. I didnt snap a shot of the loca fries, but love a good shoe string that was crispy and seasoned well. Plus its hard to mess up cheese sauce and bacon. Great spot, nice bartenders, and the FREAKING HOT DOGS. I'll be back. read more

I love the food here and the atmosphere! I especially love the parilla platters . I also love the Watson which is vegan and I'm not even a vegan! It's that's good! It's covered wall to wall in Art, many people have tagged the walls. There is so much to look at. Overall very artsy place , often very cool dj nights. I also love the karaoke here. This is definitely bar food, so don't come here looking for an extraordinary dining experience. However, the Venezuelan-inspired dishes provide a fun, comforting meal! Casual setting for sure. I found this place through the local NY foodie account, Righteous Eats. Serving Venezuelan street food, this place doesn't have the most amazing food I've ever had in my life, but still gets five stars for creativity and uniqueness. I had the Perro Con Todo hotdog, voted the best NYC hotdog by the Village Voice, which boasts onions, cabbage, chips, shredded cheese, ketchup, mustard, and salsa. I love a good dog, but wish they had served mine hotter and with the cheese melted. It arrived a little cold and flat. They have several types of dogs with various cheesy toppings, veggie choices, and meats. They also have a vegan dog. I also had the Criminal Burger, served with chicken, steak, or chorizo. Also comes with egg, ham, cheese, onion, and chips. Fries must be purchased separately. As with the hotdogs, there are several renditions from which to choose, all with unique meat and veggie toppings--and yes, there is a vegan burger. They also have meat platters and sandwiches to clog any artery you have! My favorite part were the cocktails. Mezcal drinks, margaritas, beers, shots. Super reasonably priced (especially for New York!) and I found them fruity and refreshing. This is a quirky, edgy establishment with tons of fun art and stickers all over the wall. When I went, I was the only dine in patron and several people from the neighborhood stopped by for to go orders. Service was excellent. My server was super attentive and answered all questions about the menu. She made my drinks perfectly. Great local spot to chow down on street eats and margs. read more

OMG is what I said when I ate it. After I had said to myself that I was not going to eat hot dogs, curiosity got the best out of me, curiosity to try a new flavor made me break my word. I found this restaurant on Instagram and I had marked as something to try as I have many more spots to do so. Finally, I had the time to come at eat the different styles of Hot dogs made in a Venezuelan style. I was pretty much amazed at the Hot Dogs, I tried 3 different ones. They were the best of the best, this is a must have if one is in Brooklyn, absolutely good. Came here on a Saturday with a friend for lunch at around 12:15 PM. They were open but not really ready for people to eat. I sat down with my friend and we had to wait a while to get a menu. The one bartender and server came over and took our order and our food came out pretty quickly. I like the Tostones and hotdog, it was very delicious. The only thing I didn't like about the tostones was the green sauce because I'm not a cilantro fan but otherwise it was very good. The place is definitely a bit of a dive bar, but a good place to have a filling lunch and would be a great bar food area, just don't expect amazing service or a floor and table that is not sticky. read more

Always come to the strip where this place is and one of my Elite Yelpers recommended this spot so HAD to try it. So glad I did and cannot wait to bring my kid here! The hot dogs are amazing. I stopped by while I was in the area to grab a quick bite with my friends and was pleasantly impressed with how cheap everything was. The service was quick and the bar overall had nice vibes. We ordered different hot dogs, a burger, and the yuca fries. I tried the classic Santa salsa hot dog and it was quite good! And tasted great! I really didn't know what we were eating. It's vaguely a beef, egg, steak, crispy cheese, and sauce burger. - Guarapa: pretty much a rum x passion fruit juice cocktail. It was relatively early on a Sunday and this place was dead for the moment. I was the first customer and settled at the bar with Garvis. I proceeded to have an excellent hot dog (Santa salsa, namesake) and mezcal marg. Both were excellent and the music, vibe and ease of service were perfect. I can't recommend this place enough for a random day drink and bite. Garvis was just a great dude as well. 10/10. read more

Starr Street is lucky to have a place like Santa Salsa on it. Their spin on the best of Venezuelan street food has the power to bring people together. Every single one of us was making a mess of our tables and faces, and loving every minute of it. If you've never tried tequeños before, this is the place to have them for the first time. One of the best drinking snacks in existence. The Santa Salsa classic perro is the only way I'll ever eat a hot dog again. Holy textures and sauces! The Carne Pepito is a special kind of sloppy steak sandwich with strings of melted cheese that will mesmerize anyone that looks at you eating it. Like I said, bringing people together. Good spot, food prices were very reasonable. I came here after seeing them featured on YouTube by Here Be Barr as one of the most unique hot dogs in NYC and Santa salsa did not disappoint. We ordered their signature hot dog and another con Todo. Both were covered with plenty of toppings. We also enjoyed the yuca, churros and fries cheese and sausage dish. Came here for a bite with my boo and friends after a lackluster time at Area 53. We didn't stay for long or order much so this will be short and sweet. The vibe in there is really cute. Quaint but cute. It was a Thursday night and they had a dj which we all thought was nice. Only a select amount of tables so it's mostly just bar space. We were greeted immediately, the server/bartender was really nice. Both my best friend and I got the tostones with steak, per the servers recommendation when I asked which protein would be best. Between the guys, they ordered a burger, a side of fries and the tequeños. As for the drinks, I really don't remember what everyone had. All I know is I got a frozen passion fruit marg and my bestie got something with hibiscus and rum in it. Both were really good. The French fries tasted like Mickey D's without the chemicals and the guilt, so they're definitely a must order if we're ever in the area again. I'm not gonna lie, the tostones smelled DIVINE but the steak was seriously lacking salt. I also felt like they could've added just a tad more BUT their prices aren't bad so it's not a dealbreaker. My main critique would be they should find a different way to plate it. It gets very messy and everything was crammed into a small basket. The boys weren't a fan of the tequeños but that was more so based off of preference rather than quality and execution. read more

Food used to be very good when it first opened. Quality has gone down as has the customer service. This is probably because every employee I encountered behind their wall is either drinking or buzzed. I'm not a business expert (or maybe I am) but last time I reviewed business 101, it stated it's probably not a good idea to keep inebriated employees as forward-facing representatives of your brand. It dilutes your company's brand equity and is just bad business. Regardless of your trade. Don't let employees shit where THEY work and YOU earn your money. A solid, cheap, delicious lunch. What can I say? I fucking love a good hotdog. And this one was exceptional. I grabbed the Pero Con Todo with a side of their green sauce: Guasacaca, which is a traditional Venezuelan sauce, this one in particular was heavy on the cilantro and absolutely smacked on top of the dog. This is definitely a bar, more than it is a restaurant. Me and a group of my friends were doing an event in Area 53, and was looking for restaurant around the area that offered a vegan option. The whole street is artsy and definitely gives off a hipster vibe. This bar inside that is quite small. In the inside you have a bar, along with three tables. There is a total of 3 booths outside, all made with reused material. It has a bit of a charm with the unconventional reused snowboards used as a serving plate. The overall ambience was laid-back skater/ snowboarder vibes. We came to try out Santos salsa on a Tuesday there weren't many people at the restaurant. We ordered our food and it came out quickly, however the food came out with no utensils, or napkins. There weren't many guests at the restaurant that day, but the waiter seemed to be very overwhelmed. We helped ourselves to the napkins (-1). The food came out in a speedy manner. The food was not bad, but it wasn't anything that would make me say, "let's come back". The hotdogs were regular boiled hotdogs with toppings, the bun wasn't even toasted. It tasted like a hotdog stand hotdog with tops. Nothing too crazy. read more

This was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in NYC. Never had Venezuelan food before, but this was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their food, but the favorite was the sandwiches because they're bigger and around the same price as a burger. I want to go again and try the tostones. This place is a hidden gem. Amazing food, amazing service and great prices! I had already eaten unfortunately so I only ordered a few small items my first time here, but I honestly cannot wait to go back because their whole menu looks so delicious. This might be the best Yucca I've ever had and the tostones were beyond great too. The steak on top was cooked perfectly, tender and moist and such great flavor. I stopped here when my friend and I were walking around. I got the pan con queso, and my friend got the perro con todo. Easily the most delicious hot dog I've had in my life. Good service, and very cool restaurant. The cocktails are amazing. I am a little biased as I am Venezuelan, but the hot dogs left a lot to be desired. The toppings were okay....but the hot dog itself tasted boiled and just lacking of flavor in general. Probably my least fave Venezuelan hot dog I've had. I just felt like I was eating bread and toppings. The yuca fries were delish, and so was the parchita juice. More of a 3.5 read more

Established in 2011.

Santa Salsa started in 2011 off with the "Pirate push Cart" in the Boardwalk of Rockaway Beach; which operates every summer. We teamed up in 2004 with Over The Eight bar (594 Union ave) to bring the flavor of Venezuelan street food to the busy night life of Williamsburg - Brooklyn. Also participated in Smorgasburg the biggest food market in NYC for 4 years. Now is a formal Restaurant - Bar located in the heart of Bushwick/Brooklyn surrounded by NY Street art and Art Neighborhood ... but really it started of as a skate video Santa Salsa first came about as the concept for our skate video. Santa Salsa (our holy sweet corn sauce) was originally conceived by Maikel González and Sergio Barrios as a concoction that could bring back skateboarding after a fascist takeover had tried to wipe it off the face of the earth. This anti-facha-antidote would be distributed amongst the youth using the city's most popular food: street cart hot-dogs.

We also enjoyed the carne molida (ground beef) bowl, a chicken/sausage/steak platter, and the mixed protein sandwich which was enormous. The ground beef was a touch dry and the juice from the pulled pork made the bottom half of the arepa a bit soggy, but I didn't mind that. Overall everything was delicious and generously portioned! There is limited seating indoors but we were able to get a table at 5pm on a Saturday with no wait. The food took a little while (~20min) but it was well worth the wait! We will definitely return if we're in the area!!

Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol!
