I have been traveling so my legs have been very swollen, I went in for a ultimate pedicure and OMG!! the next morning my legs (pedicure, foot and leg massage, paraffin, hot rocks, gel polish) felt the best they had in a week!! He always gets me in when I request a certain day or time and is really good at hand painting and design I show him from the internet. We went to Tipsy 2 weeks ago to get a few set. The first set was done by "B" & they came out flawless. The second set from the only guy who works there was done poorly. Didn't match the first set- I wanted the same set as this appointment & nothing done differently. The first appointment - the tech used a nude powdered base. The second appointment- the guy used a nude polish which made my nails look fake & extremely cheap. (Photos are attached.) We had an appointment for 6:30 - didn't start until 7:00 because they don't have time management skills. The appointment feature doesn't work here unless you want to wait 30+ minutes passed your slot. I stopped the guy from continuing & told him they were ugly & didn't match the first set. He used white/clear powder vs the nude. When I asked to reschedule, they told me to come the next day to get them redone. I wanted them soaked off and to be done with this establishment. They told me to come in at 9:30am the next morning. My sister requested "Linda" to take them off. We came in this morning and (3) clients went before us. We asked why we were being cut in line, the receptionist had a hard time translating in between the nail techs & we were told the first tech to free up will help us & that we didn't schedule an appointment. We were told to come back and we will be taken care of immediately. That didn't happen. I don't recommend this place at all. They can't take direction from clients and they make excuses for visits like this. Never again. They need a receptionist that can actually comprehend and translate for the techs because she looked like a fish out of water at the front desk. read more

If I could give this salon 0 stars, I would. Oh god... where do I begin. First thing I notice is that their parking lot is covered in trash and there were 2 shopping carts filled with garbage taking up parking spots. I had called and made an apt. I showed up for my apt which was both a pedicure and a full set. When I walked in the owner told a worker to take me to a pedicure bowl. I could tell she was super irritated from just then. She sits me down and starts filling the bowl with water, durning that she was talking to another worker next to her and kept pointing at me. She handed me their "menu" and I picked the most expensive pedicure. She sighed and snatched the menu out of my hand and dumped the salts into the water aggressively, without asking me which scent I wanted. She did a very "half-assed" job on my feet. I still have dead skin and spots where my old pink polish still was. I picked a polish color and then she sighed and left to get it. She came back saying they no longer had that one and I needed to pick a different one. This is when I noticed HOW DISGUSTING THEIR UV LIGHT WAS. Literally DIRT around it's edges. They then moved me to a manicure station. I let this guy know that I had just bent my pinky nail and asked him to please be gentle. He then drilled my natural nail so much on that pinky that it started bleeding on the middle of my nail. He kept yelling at me to relax. But it is kind of hard to relax after that. My nails look HORRIBLE. They are misshaped and lump with no apex at all. Oh and to top it off while I was getting my nails done not only did I witness a fight between two employees but I also witnessed one between an employee and a client. Not professional at all. Hmmm....the place is newly remodeled so it gives a feeling of cleanliness. But it is far from clean. Most of the pedicure tools used did not come out of a sterilized bag and were laying in a dirty plastic bin. Staff is unfriendly. It appears the owner of US Nails also owns or manages Tipsy Nails. And I forgot her name. I think it is Lynn and she was unfriendly toward me, overworked but not underpaid, and has zero passion for the business she owns. Prices are inflated. Pedicures start at $30 and gel pedicures are $35. I know we live in Chico where prices are a bit inflated in this market compared to Sacramento and other larger cities. But my pedicure was not worth the deluxe price of $40. It was supposed to include callus treatment. But the service did not actually include a callus treatment. He used a pumice bar to scrub the bottom of my feet for a few seconds just like any other technician would have done with a basic pedicure service. And my feet are dry, lacking significant moisture, cuticles are cut in the wrong places pulling on my skin. My mother's technician was GREAT!! Great color selection. Many choices and brand new. Update: A few years later, I returned and demanded professional service and was treated much better and satisfied with service every time. read more

I used to love this salon, but the nail tech I adored is no longer there. I came in today with my 11 year old daughter and showed them a picture of what we wanted. I wanted the style and colors in the pic and my daughter wanted the same style with different color polish. They said they could do it with no problem. Fast forward 45 minutes and no, they couldn't (they weren't even close lol). I was skeptical when she was painting my nails as this is a marble process that usually requires dropping color into water then dipping your nail, but hey, she'sthe tech and probably knew better than I did, right? Wrong. I showed her the video on how to do it and was then told they "don't do that here." I asked her if we could just take the jet black polish off because without the marble dip over the top, it looked a bit too dark. She seemed to be annoyed, but seriously, I wasn't trying to pull off a goth look in March. My daughter's tech also said she could do the style, but then claimed my daughter's nails were too small and without consulting me (as my daughter and that tech were on the other side of the room) convinced my daughter to get a different style. Smh. It now looks like my daughter painted her nails with whiteout and then drew on them with thin sharpie. We decided to forego our pedicures at this point and just wanted to leave. They freaking then charged me $40 for my daughter's manicure AND tried to charge me for mine!!!!! I was leaving with unpolished, unbuffed nails and they wasted my time by lying. (If they said they couldn't do it in the first place I would have found a style they could have done.) I paid the outrageous amount for my daughter's nails because whatever, she's too young and polite to tell them that wasn't even close to what she wanted, but no way was I paying for "mine." Here's the best part: I head over to Lavish Nails and tell them our story. They laugh and say: "Oh look, it's another screwed up Tipsy manicure." They did my nails EXACTLY like I wanted and fixed my daughter's for free because they said Tipsy should not have let us leave looking like that, let alone charge us for the mess. read more

Especially for how crappy my nails turned out...The way the guy painted the French tip makes my nails look like they're do for a fill already ... and when I asked the guy if he could paint the white a little further back he laughed at me and said "oh no, they look more natural this way"... like wtf! Then says "wash your hands your done" and follows me to the register and just stared at me like he was waiting for a tip but didn't say a word to me. I've been going for over a year and it's always a hit and miss with this nail salon. You can make appointments but they are always running late. I understand 5-10 minutes late but 30 minutes it's waaay to much. Also, I only trust two of the ladies there to do my nails / pedis. I'm giving one star, because this has been my nail salon of choice the last several times; today changed it all. (Also ignoring the poor lady whose son was completely disrespected in front of me last time...) AND Despite them never quite understanding what I'm asking for color wise, for myself, my daughter or my friends.... I've always enjoyed the quality (gel lasting 2+ weeks) and my mom liked getting the powder dip manicures. Today I had to go back after 1 week because my gel polish was already lifting and chipping. I told them why I was back and how long it had been, (exactly one week) I was sent back to the same person and was under the impression that it was free since he only gave the basic pedicure and he said "polish on is free today". I waited for my mom to finish and she was charged $5 more than last time (for the same service). We both tipped our nail techs $10 each still! They had basically 3-4 employees chase us into the parking lot and then charged me $35 for the pedicure! I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO BE THERE ALREADY! I understand getting paid for your time, but that was my time as well and I didn't get a refund for my time! SO. This nail& spa has been one of the best that my sister and I have attended. My sister got a tipsy lux pedi, and wax and they did great. I on the other got a full set, my lady( Kimberly) did a great job on detail And shaping my nails. Only giving them 4 stars because it's a bit on the pricey side, but can be well worth it for some people. Literally the worst manicure/pedicure I've ever had. Paid for a deluxe pedicure and it seemed like all they did was put sugar scrub on my legs for 20 seconds then rinsed it. No massage or anything special at all. She rubbed lotion on my hands and immediately told me to go wash it off. The polish is uneven and already coming off. My friend asked for hot water and when she said it was too hot, he tried to HOLD her foot in the water and make her get used to it. She told him more than twice that it was way too hot. read more

Prices are ridiculous. For a gel full set it starts at $45, right? Not too bad, but once they add $5 for shape, $5 for length, $5 for "design", $5 for this, $5 for that, the $45 nails soon turn into almost $60 nails. Mind you, just standard nails with no articulate design and they're almost $60?! That's just ridiculous. Just to give you an idea, my nails were $45, I couldn't get them any longer because she wanted to charge me for length and shape. My nails are ridiculously short & I don't like them. My basic pedicure was $30. The location itself is beautiful, very intricate set-up, everything looks very modern.
