I have absolutely no idea who's writing these reviews. I just return from the Tipsy Pig, after driving from Midtown Atlanta all the way out there because of the reviews. It was just average bbq at best. The ribs were tuff, not much flavor to the meat, very little sauce or rub on the ribs. I'm not trying to be overly critical, but I know what good bbq taste like, having family in Memphis, TN and tasting THE best bbq in the world some would say. However, I'm just comparing them to other local bbq joints. The young lady at the counter had a wonderful personality and the baked beans were outstanding. The collard green were finely chopped and had various peppers in them but no real flavor at all. Again, not attempting to be harsh because I have a feeling they could do better. They scored a 100 on the food inspection that was hanging at the counter and that says to me someone takes pride in the business. Now let's work on those ribs. read more

Brunswick Stew was good. It was a surprisingly good pulled pork sandwich for a BBQ shop in a gas station. From what I understand it is hit or miss there but when they hit they are good. Next I will try the ribs. read more

RI aren't known for ribs! beans were mediocre. peach cobbler was awesome!!! overall I was really disppointed, because all of these good reviews had me excited. Me and my wife went here last weekend and got plates to go. She got the ribs and I got the pork sandwich. My sandwich wasn't great but wasn't bad, just a little too dry. My wife said her ribs were beef and she did not like them at all. She stopped after the first 2 ribs. Their fry's and potato salad were good. I'm not sure that we will go back but if we ever do will probably try their chicken instead. read more

Great food, horrible service. I haven't seen Steve around and he kept this placing going. Since his apparent absence the service is slow and not friendly. I order from here 1-2 times a week. The last time I ordered I was proactive and called ahead so I wouldn't have to wait as long. Upon my arrival, I still waited 5 minutes before the person behind the counter even acknowledged me. Man this place has been going down hill here lately. Came in one morning had to wait on biscuits becasue the kids running it know dont know how to. Runs out of coleslaw, runs out of the redneck cuban bread and this is all before 6pm. We don't go no where near as much. Last six times something is out or they are super slow or they burned something. The quality has really gone down since the kids started working there, Food is good when they have it. read more

I just left moments ago! This place is some of the BEST BBQ I have ever eaten! The cooking area is very clean, service impeccable, and I even spoke with the pitmaster Jacob! I told him that my wife and I are starting a food blog and he was very nice and even gave me peach cobbler! As a Memphian I know BBQ and this place is it! I ordered the 2 meat plate. Ribs were tender and juicy, and the chicken was amazing as well! I did try two of their bbq sauces and I could drink either on any day! Believe me when I say this place is worth it! So I guess I'm a bit of a BBQ snob. Was in Memphis for a number of years where the was an awesome BBQ joint on every corner. Also I am a mbn and kcbs judge as well as pretty good at my own. It was my first time, didn't realize in a gas station but hey no problem. If you are looking for a seat down service at the table this isn't for you. Got the rib and pork two meat. Really liked the slaw and green beans we're good as well. Pulled pork was cooked for the masses being really over cooked and mushy. The ribs were ok but not much meat on them, more bone and tissue from the store Louis style. Didn't seem to have any rub or BBQ sauce when smoked so pretty dry if you don't add sauce. Don't like only one BBQ sauce selection. If you don't like it then you are just eating dry BBQ. Everyone has different taste profile some sweet, some spicy, should really think about options if a guest likes a different taste. read more

Granted it is better to order out and take your feast elsewhere becaus there isn't much ambiance but no matter, it is still worth it! I had the pulled pork sandwich, served with the BBQ Sauce on the side. This is EVERYTHING you look for in a pulled pork sandwich, juicy succulent meat, not dry and not a mouth full of fat and grease! Just tender juicy pork meat, seasoned just right so that you are enjoying the flavor of the meat. They have 2 BBQ sauces one is mild and the other is hot, I enjoyed both very much! I ordered cole slaw and mac and cheese. Cole Slaw was right on point, a little sweet not a bunch of crap like Celery Seeds just good fresh cole slaw. Mac and Cheese was homeade and AWESOME!! Could have made a meal from that!!! My boyfriend ordered the half rack of ribs and MAN was that good too!! A little bark on the outside of the ribs, just the right smokey flavor and tenderness to the ribs that made them just delicious!! I hear the ribs are only available on friday and Saturday so I am glad we went on a "Rib day". I honestly can't wait to go back and try more delicious goodness off that menu!! I was hungry for dinner and looked up on Yelp for something that might interest me nearby. Haven't had bbq in awhile since I'm very picky and haven't found one nearby that I liked. Saw amazing reviews by a LARGE number of diners so placed a takeout order of ribs and sides. When I pulled up I was Leary since its inside a service station. Once I got home I realized the reviews were accurate. Not exaggerating the ribs were THE BEST I have ever eaten. Not fatty and tough. Lean and tender fall off the bone very meaty.
