Our daughter was at fault for a minor fender bender and we didn't have any say as to where to take the other person's vehicle. They chose this shop. Minor fender bender and the first quote was $3500, outrageous. Once they "got in there... more damage" now we are at $5300. By the time this job is complete I'm sure we will owe over $6k for something most other shops would've charged around $1500 for. It's one thing to price gauge insurance or large fleet companies. No need to price gauge honest working people. Shame on McCarty's.

Dropped off my truck for an air conditioning leak. Had been to two other mechanics near my home that either couldn't find a leak or simply replaced a valve and recharged, only for me to find out that by the next day, the refrigerant leaked out. TC replaced a valve and again, by the end of the next day, the refrigerant had leaked out. Brought it back in on the day I was heading home and they looked again and found leaking gaskets which they replaced at no charge. By the time got home to Nevada, all of the refrigerant had leaked out and I was again without cold AC. Staff was super friendly and had no problem standing by their work. I knew I would be back in Ukiah two weeks later and scheduled to bring my truck in on a Saturday (even though they are closed but someone was supposed to be there). Called a couple days before to confirm and was told that nobody would be there since they weren't sure if I was definitely coming. Well, I'm from NJ where a person's word means something. I had solid plans to be there since my wife and I were vacationing in the area. Unfortunately, like previous shops, they didn't take the time to look at every aspect of the system and when I went to a fourth mechanic, he was able to diagnose a leaking compressor along with a ticking noise coming from the bearings and shaft of the compressor. There was dye around the bottom of the compressor which I assume was put in the system by TC. So again, mixed feelings about the experience. Would definitely go back if I needed a friendly shop in Ukiah but would be concerned with the quality of the work.

Ken is a loud mouth, but so am in Ken asks lots of questions..to make sure he understands the problem. He will not fix something-if he feels you will waste your money, because you don't need it done! I have another car now-and today I'm doing the engine restore kit. That gets ride of fuel injection issues. Power Idol Sluggish It will clean the fuel injection really well. I looked at all the reviews, in 8 years-there has been 3 people that left silly comments, the rest are all five stars!! Thanks so much to Ken and Finn, and the rest, thanks for all your great work. I have recommended many people to Ken. I will continue to recommend people to him. They use BG products, and they are a top notch company.

I brought my 90,000 mile Ford F250 Super Duty in for a very perplexing suspension problem. At 50 -…read more60 mph it would develop a shimmy in the front so bad it became difficult to control. I tow a 38' fifth wheel RV, plus an equipment trailer loaded with my 12,000 pound tractor, this shimmy issue made towing impossibly unsafe. I had taken my truck to a Ford dealer in Santa Rosa, where I bought it. The service advisor booked it in for a 2 day inspection. The dealer advised that I had a major issue with the transfer case, tie rod ends and two tires. Their estimate, $7109.80. It just didn't make sense, so I declined. I took it to Lakeport Tire. Their service advisor knew immediately what the problem was. A stability bar as part of the front suspension. The estimate was, and accurately $1200. Which included a host of other services. The repair was done timely, totally cured the issue. My truck drives fine now, even towing heavy loads. I am very pleased with Lakeport Tire, their knowledge base and customer service. I'm so pleased that next up is my C8 Corvette in for yet its own perplexing issue. I trust they'll handle the repair as well as my truck.

Last week I went in for something I felt would be minor. It was the plastic coverings underneath…read morethe car. I had gone elsewhere to get an oil change and I realized too late that they didn't screw the coverings back in properly. So I went here and the first guy said it couldn't be done, I'd have to get new ($300) coverings. The front office gentleman, Christian, told me to hold on. He spoke with another great guy, Chris, about my situation and Chris was able to get my problem resolved quickly and for dirt cheap. They COULD have taken more money (or rather attempted to because honestly I was going to have to look for another shop) but they were honest and fair.
