Just wanted to take a sec for a shout out to the Tire Barn crew. I went there for the 1st time about 6 months ago for new tires. They went out of their way to find the set I needed in my budget. Today I went in for a very slow leak in one of my tires. Was told they couldn't find anything wrong at first but after talking to the technician Tony he went above and beyond to find the cause if the slow leak, patched it and got me on my way. I was impressed with the service of this place. I was there on an extremely busy day (right before labor day weekend) and the staff made everyone feel special, apologized for any wait, and were friendly. When I say friendly, I mean not that cheesy, everyones best friend, make up a connection and fake laugh friendly, but chill and respectful but still conversational. The price was decent, not super low but similar to other places. I don't usually write reviews but I will for this place because I would go back for the service. read more

I went from leaving a one star rating last year for Tire Barn to now 5 stars. Last year when I got all new tires, the employees caused me a lot of stress by not doing thorough work and wasted my time going back and forth to their shop. I ended up having to go back recently since it's the closest tire place to where I live (I was so ready to get upset again) but it looked like they had all new staff? Long story short, I left extremely happy. They were so easy to work with, finished the job when they said they would, and didn't leave anything undone like the last time I came. If you buy a tire there, they will replace it for free within a certain time period if it gets damaged, and even after that expires, if you ever get a flat and they can fix it, they will -- free. It can even have been five or ten years ago that you bought it. read more

About a month ago I had a flat. I told them we planned on getting new tires anyway a month later. He fixed my flat free of charge. We set up an appointment for 1:45pm. We were in and out with in an hour! Highly recommend scheduling an appointment if not you will have to wait around for 3 hours. Ben and Brad were awesome! I was at Tire Barn this morning to get two of my tires replaced. I checked in at 8:10 am and was told it would be about an hour. At 11:15, I checked in to see what time they thought my van would be ready and they said I was next and it would be about 90 minutes. At 12:05 my van was still out in the parking lot, so I chose to leave having wasted almost 4 hours of my day. This would have been fine had they communicated the wait time with me but they did not. FYI this Tire Barn doesn't keep winter tires in stock so you have to special order them. I purchased all-weather tires because I was on a tight schedule. They installed them but when I came back for my car, the summer tires weren't in my car even though I'd specified to keep them. I ended up waiting over 15 minutes while they searched for my other tires. Also it's a good thing I arrived so quickly after they called me because they left my headlights on. Everyone who works here was nice to me but it wasn't a good experience with the business. read more

Great service but I feel ripped off. The black Friday offer was "buy 3 tires and get 1 free" - it was only when i got my bill AND after the tires were installed that i was told that to get this offer I would have to pay for a "road hazard coverage" and "lifetime install package" which basically amounts to the cost of a tire and even more. Be careful of the fine print. When i asked for an explanation, the person answering the phone even had the gall to say "do you think we would actually give you a free tire?" How unapologetic and unprofessional. This is bad PR and an unethical sales practice. This hidden cost should have been explained to the customer. Please go to COSTCO or SAM's for your tires instead. This place takes advantage of unsuspecting customers. The offer of buy 3 and get 1 free is a scam! Postscript: After posting this review, I read there was another Yelp of trying to fleece the customer within a span of 10 days. The management must be working hard at this. read more

Another excellent customer service experience at Tire Barn today. We went in just for some prices and were given all of the information that we needed. While the employee was talking to us another customer came in the door. The employer recognized who this customer probably was, greeted him, and directed him to where he needed to go, while never disconnecting with us. I purchased four new tires about 10 months ago. I stopped by the store because I had a slow leak in one of the tires. It turned out that there was nail in the tire and due to the spot where the nail was it couldn't be repaired. So I had to get a brand new tire and since I had the roadside hazard on the tires, the cost was prorated and I only paid the cost of 25.00 for a tire that would of cost about125.00. This is the place to go if you need new tires!!!! read more

We had a negative experience with Tire Barn. I needed new tires for my 2010 Honda Civic, and ordered a nice set of Michelin Tires. We had to come in and put a deposit down for the tires to be ordered, which was fine. We ordered tires on a Monday, and they told us they would be in by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. They finally arrived on Saturday, but we only found out because we called to see what the status was. They apologized for taking so long to get the tires in, and suggested we come in that day at 4:30 (30 minutes before closing) to get the new tires. We did, and they changed them promptly. Apparently, a little too promptly. On the way home, my TPS light went off. The front left tire was down to 29 PSI. By the next morning it was down to 24. We took the tires back to Tire Barn, and they tried to say it was the weather. My husband finally got the manager to have someone take a look. Sure enough, it wasn't the weather. They failed to remove a bar code on the tire, which prevents the tire from sealing to the rim (hence, the loss of air). At least the manager was willing to listen to my husband, and they did fix the problem for free (so they understand decent customer service). However, after spending $700 for new tires, I would hope they would install them correctly. I would not recommend Tire Barn for new tires. read more

I had a flat tire that I finally I decided needed replaced after multiple patches. When I got there, after waiting for nearly half an hour, I told them that I needed to replace my rear passenger's side tire. I got got my car back, and noticed that the paper work said "rear left side tire." I didn't think anything of it until i went out and the tire I needed replaced was flat once more. I took a closer look, and it turned out they actually replaced my rear driver's side tire. I went back in the next day, told them about the mistake, and after being told I must have told them the wrong tire, I finally got them to take it again. All they did was patch the tire I needed replaced in the first place. So they took a good tire and just did what I could have had done anywhere else. I'll be going other places in the future. read more

My tires were absolutely fine when I drove in to TBW. I had been driving around all morning without a problem. I went in only because I had an offer for a free tire rotation. I waited for at least 30 minutes before they could get to my car. Not unreasonable, but was in the waiting area I witnessed an employee (who had been nothing but nice to me) engage in a phone conversation which escalated into a shouting match: "Do you know who I am?"... "I don't care who you are - do you know who I am?" ... "Then you can take your business elsewhere!". It was very off-putting. A brief moment after my car was taken back, someone came out to inform me I had a screw in my tire and the air was rushing out. Interesting. Additionally, it was in a spot that was unrepairable per tire industry guidelines. I was aware of a slow leak in the same tire they indicated had the screw, so I assumed they were exaggerating. They did not offer to show me the location of the screw. Instead of offering to put my spare on they told me the only option was to buy another tire. I declined and they allowed me to drive home. The tire was down to 14 psi by the time I got home (although it inexplicably remained inflated all morning) and I put my spare on myself. I then drove my car to Farm & Fleet where they patched and plugged my tire without question. I looked up tire industry standards and technically the puncture *is* in an undesirable area for repair. That said, I have been driving on it without any problems for the past 2 months. I was very close to buying new tires when I went to TBW, However, after this incident I have ordered my new tires elsewhere. And I won't be returning to TBW. read more

I made an appointment to get a rotation and balance. Took 90 minutes, even though they have an hour guarantee?! Unless you have all afternoon to sit here, go somewhere else. The included balance and rotation with every new set of tires is nice, but at what cost when you consider your time. read more

Worst tire buying experience ever. Called to see if they had the tires I needed and was told they needed to order them and would be there the same day, they were very pushy over the phone for me to order and once I did they just said to go in whenever just before they closed. Because of work I got there 45 mins before they closed and they rushed because they wanted to be out of there. No one bothered to explain exactly what tires I got, the benefits,warranty, nothing they just installed and wanted to get paid. They weren't even done and since it was closing time all the lights were shut off and doors locked. Once done I wasn't even in my car and all the rude employees were gone. No thank you, we checked everything, again nothing. Checked my tire pressure and one was low and the other one very high they didn't even bother to check and make sure all tires were at right tire pressure. Oh and to top it off I had told the guy I wanted to keep one of my old tires, we'll I guess no one listened or cared cause they got rid of them. Ugh very irritated spend so much money for horrible service and employees who shouldn't even be in customer service. I will never shop there again and will be sure to tell everyone about the horrible service. read more

Stopped by the Tire Barn on a Saturday morning to schedule new tires on Monday. Dropped the vehicle off at 9:00am Monday morning. Three hours later, returned to find the vehicle had not moved. Manager apologized and asked us to give them thirty or forty minutes more to install the tires, four in all. Another hour later we finally accepted the vehicle. Ordered Goodyear tires, received Kelly's. After over four hours my wife just wanted to go home. There are numerous places in town to purchase tires. I'll go elsewhere after this. read more

I am from out of town. So when I ran over a piece of metal, that damaged my tire, I did not know where to go. I asked a man walking by and he told me to go to Tire Barn. I am very glad that I did. When they opened, they looked at my tire and had it fixed in under 30 minutes. The guys there were very friendly. I thought a flat tire would ruin my day or even my week, but these guys made me feel like it was just a minor bump in the road. I would come back and I will refer friends here. read more

Came in a little before closing with a flat tire and the guy behind the counter, Brian, was very helpful and delivered service with a sense of humor. When we came back the next day to pick up our car there was a bit of a line and wait but you can't really blame the workers for the crowds. Most employees seemed to being doing their best to get everyone helped. Brian helped us again and gave us a great deal on the patch job. We were so impressed with the service we scheduled an appointment for the following week for a rotation service. Would recommend this place for service and price to anyone with tire problems in Champaign, but like any garage just be prepared to be patient. read more

I came in to get a damaged tire replaced. It was an unusual size and very short notice. The staff there called several other locations in the area to see if they had anything in the right size. That didn't pan out, but they were able to find a few options in other sizes, with a fallback plan if the first options rubbed in the wheel well. DO NOT expect warranty honored on purchases without first paying for their infamous "road hazard " protection. They will find at least a dozen reasons why your tire was not covered by warranty, and you will get absolutely no help in resolving the problem except for buying new replacement tire and paying for it. The tire could explode in their drive and it would be your fault, simply because you didn't buy their road hazard "protection. Also, while having a new tire installed (at my expense) I was informed that the tire would be 35.00 MORE than what was quoted online. When I asked why I was given several different reasons why, though it was the same tire, and none of it made sense, just a well rehearsed , fast talking meanderings of how he couldn't give me the price quoted online that very morning, and when I had enough of his fast talking crap I demanded to see the manager. He then offered me the tire at the price quoted in the first place, and isn't that what this conversation is all about? I wasn the only one having these issues, with these people, and was glad to just leave when my car was finished. People need to know what businesses to avoid, and through social media I feel it my duty to help out fellow consumers what to look out for. It seems to me that through social media thousands can be reached with the truth then it is a person's obligation to do so. Keeping one person from these types of dealings and it is well worth it. I will file an official complaint with the BBB tomorrow in hopes of reaching even more consumers. read more

Our car just passed over the 50K mile mark, and our OEM tires needed replacement. TBW was the only place in town that had exactly what I needed in stock - or, at least they told me that they did. When I went in at the appointed time, they did have the model and size in stock, but it was a V-rated tire, rather than the OEM H-rated OEM tire. Technically, in addition to other design aspects, the V-rated tire is made of a softer rubber compound which will result in a slightly shorter tread life. Nevertheless, I had them installed, as I couldn't wait any longer to replace the tires. That was a small "glitch," but they failed to properly complete the warranty card information, and road-hazard warranty information, which may result in a surprise in the future should I have a warranty problem. Plus, the installer did not place the jack or lift at the proper "jack point" (a reinforced area of the rocker panel's pinch weld) in three areas which resulted in a deformed pinch weld in those three spots. Although not "mission critical" per se, this is simply sloppy work and unnecessary, as over the six years we've owned the car, it was always jacked up at the proper places. This ticked me off. Will I go back... perhaps, but all of the above could have been eliminated if the front desk personnel and tire installer took their time, and paid more attention to detail. read more
