Horrible front end help. First, the girl tells ME to go outside and look inside my door for tire size. Doesn't ask me to, but tells me to do it and it will be there. It wasn't. I take photo of tire and tell her the numbers. I had gone in Sunday prior and asked about getting car aligned. Nothing asked or said. She proceeds to tell me that the tech won't even look at my car unless there are new tires on my car as they can't show any wear. Very rude attitude was given to me in a very unprofessional way. I said I may then need 2 new tires for the front. She tells me I need a certain tire and tell her no, I would want something much better than that IF I need tires. She wanted me to commit in purchasing all new tires before the tech even looking at my car. I said the tech can tell me then if I need new tires. She raises her voice and attitude and proceeds to tell me that the tech won't even look at my car unless I buy the new tires. What a horrible place. I was treated like I didn't have money. I was told to look for my tire size which I thought that is what Tire places did for you. I tried telling her that you align the rims and not the tires and can't commit to new tires until the tech even sees my car. VERY augmentative then after I asked if I get to see a diagram of alignment being out. She said I would get that afterwards showing before and after. Wanted me to commit to new tires sight unseen. Customer service has totally left this company. It's gone completely. Treated poorly. Wouldn't listen to me, but was all about her and the technician. What technician? They wouldn't even look at my car to tell me what I needed. NEVER been treated with such disgrace. You want me to spend $500, then show some customer service! There are other companies out there. Horrible. I had a slow leak in one tire and also wanted the tires rotated and balanced. The tire pressure light was still on when I picked up the car, but it always takes a few miles to reset. When I got home, I realized that they didn't even inflate the tire that I asked them to check. I called to point that out and was told that they don't check pressure when they rotate tires unless you ask them to do that. How specific do I need to be? When I was shopping for new tires the reason I went ahead with Tire Barn is because they had a price match guarantee: if you see a lower price elsewhere within 30 days they'll match it. Well, less than a week after I got my new tires I saw the exact same set cheaper. I went back to Tire Barn and they refused to deal with me and told me to call the corporate office. I jumped through every single hoop and obstacle they put in front of me to get the price match, and they eventually just gave me the middle finger. A decent place to get tires. They're busy, so if you just walk in needing tires, it'll sometimes take an hour or two to get to you, especially evenings and weekends. Best thing is to drop your vehicle off, they'll call you when it's done. Prices are as good as you'll find anywhere else, cheaper than most places in fact. Manager is grossly incompetent and thoroughly rude. Left me sitting in the waiting room for an hour after I made an appointment the previous day because he "didn't hear me say I had an appointment." Apparently there is no system in place for appointments, its all pen and paper which allows them to do service in whatever order they please. 99% sure he was lying about not hearing my appointment as I was there in person to make an appointment the previous day and he never mentioned an hour+ long wait when I checked in, but have no idea what his motivation would be except for racism, which in 2014 seems unlikely. None of the old guys that worked there back when this was a great tire store (circa 2008) work there anymore (Patrick or any of the guys who worked in the back). Would definitely recommend taking your car somewhere else in champaign. read more

I made a appointment the day before and showed up 10min early. A walk-in customer showed up a few minuets later and had his car serviced before mine. 40min later the walk-ins car was done and I was next.......so I thought. I looked over to see a car that was not there when I arrived up on the stand ready to be serviced and my car still sitting in the lot. I asked about my appointment time and it was confirmed but no good answer was given as to why I was meant to wait. I asked for my keys and left. P.S. Tire Barn always seems to find a inexpensive part that needs to be replaced then charges you expensive labor. Lack of experienced employees or fraud? My tire had a damaged sidewall and I went in to have it replaced. The price I was quoted on the phone was $161. After a number of miscellaneous charges and doubletalk, my total was $222. I got in the car to drive away and the low tire light was on. Initially they tried to tell me that one of my other tires was low. After they checked all 4 tire, the only one that was low was the one they had just installed. They filled the tire and I went to the store about a mile away. When I came out of the store, the light was back on. I returned to tire barn and they took a look at it. Now they claimed I had a bad valve stem. I told them to replace it and they said it would be $17.99. When I asked what had happened to the valve stem, the woman behind the counter seemed to be annoyed that I would ask such a question. She said she didn't know. When I said I'd like to talk to someone who did know, she got he manager. She told the manager that I was talking back to her and being rude. All the manager could tell me was that if I continued, she would have me removed from the store. After some time, a technician came out and told me there was a piece missing from my valve stem. When I told him that the tire with the damaged sidewall had held air pressure for about 24 hours before the low pressure light came on and now suddenly after replacing the tire, the valve stem would leak enough to have to light come on after 20 minutes, all he could say was that they didn't touch the valve stem. Apparently God chose to ack at the very moment the tire was being replaced. I paid $21.81 for a new valve stem after being quoted $17.99. I got out of there immediately. My son's car had a flat tire which would need repairing. I had seen Tire Barn's coupon for free tire repair and had heard from coworkers who used this special deal and/or liked Tire Barn. I went to the web page and requested an appointment and listed a second choice time. I received the following e mail acknowledgment of my request: "A representative will confirm your online service request by phone." I then left work to change the flat tire and saw a nail right in the center of the tread. My fear, however, was that the tire was beyond repair. I then called Tire Barn to set up an appointment to have the tire repaired. I waited on hold for quite some time. Finally, I was able to get one of the few appointments remaining for the next day. When I got home and checked my e mail, I received the following: "Thank you for your recent online appointment service request through TireBarn.com. We are following up your request in an effort to determine your overall satisfaction with our response. If you did not receive a call from one of our representatives, please elevate the priority of your request by going to ..." No -- no on one called me. I was glad that I made the phone call myself to schedule the appointment before they closed for the day. The next day I went into the shop to check in. Apparently, my appointment was not entered in their books. It was quite crowded in the waiting room, which had very comfortable chairs. Less than 45 minutes later, my name was called and I was told that my tire could not be repaired. There was no charge, of course. So ... how do I rate my experience? Well, I appreciated the free service as a way to get new customers. The service I received once I got to Tire Barn was okay. However, the appointment request process and followup seemed to be below the usual standards of most automobile-related businesses. By the way, the new building looks very professional. A friend recommended Tire Barn after my car developed a flat. I brought in the flat tire and they offered to patch it up, assuming that it was due to a hole rather than sidewall damage--and they let me watch while pointing out the problem areas. (By the way, they will check and repair flats for free if you mention that you're a student.) Bad news: the tire was irreparable and I was forced to buy new tires. Good news: I was already in the best store in town for tire products and services. Customer service was very open and honest when showing me options. They understood my situation (poor, penniless student) and made recommendations accordingly. If you purchase their tires, there is a warranty in addition to free rotations for the tires you bought. (For example, if you buy 2 tires and want all 4 rotated, they will charge you the adjusted cost of rotating 2 tires; if you buy all 4 tires from them, your rotation is totally free.) In order to uphold the warranty offer, you must be diligent about rotating your tires regularly--and Tire Barn WILL keep score. I've seen enraged customers having meltdowns in the lobby because their tires were bald and they weren't entitled to replacements (because they had never rotated the tires)--don't let this happen to you! The staff works incredibly hard, but you can expect delays because the store is almost always swamped with cars. The wait in the morning (near opening) isn't so bad; in the afternoon, you can be in the shop for an hour or more. My advice is to drop off the car if you're not a fan of auto shop waiting rooms. read more

Bryan, a manager at this location, was extremely rude answering questions and was giving dirty looks as if he was above the questions being asked. I visited here a few months ago to get my tires changed after I noticed some balding. They were able to give me quotes on various options, although they had to special order the ones I ended up choosing - only took a few days for them to get in. I made an appointment and when I showed up it probably only took them 45 minutes to get everything done. The staff was friendly and helpful and didn't mind answering my various questions. Technician forgot my valve stem caps and also did not reset the TPMS sensors. I have never had a good experience at this location, but unfortunately it's the most convenient one. I drove nearly an hour today and got there two and a half hours before closing and was told they didn't have time to do a rotation and balance. I know there were two people waiting inside and a car was finished before I was able to talk to the service writer, who isn't very friendly. Had a nail stuck in my tire.. came here late morning on a Friday without an appointment. There were about 5-6 other people in the waiting area so the guy told me it would be an hour and a half wait before they could get started so I decided to come back. Came back and they took my car straight to the back right away. Fixed the issue with my tire and even checked the tire pressure in all four of my tires. Didn't take long at all and it only cost $25! Well for 10 years I went to the Tirebarn, watched them put tires on at the old location out in the rain using a jack stand. Over the last 2 weeks I have been frustrated by them losing my quote $530, not matching a quote on the second visit increasing the price to $571, going in on the 3rd visit to purchase the tires and being told they would not honor the printed price the offered. A call to Tire Barn customer service and Christine say's this is the final price $575, WITH tax! I have been to Tire Barn several months ago for new tires and then just today because I ran over a nail and needed it repaired. Today I did not have an appointment but Brian and the team got my car in and tire patched. It was a very busy day there but the team were all friendly and ready to help every single person that walked through the door with a smile and a great attitude. I've done business previously with Tire Barn and while they do great work, this review is focused on customer service. It may be bad luck, but both poor experiences involve the same person. The last time I needed service to my tires badly and decided to go through with my purchase despite the employee being very rude. I complained after to the manager and they said this employee had been complained about before. I came in recently to have my tire looked at and this same employee was the one to talk to me, was equally rude as he's been in the past, so this time I took my business elsewhere. Tire Barn has permanently lost my business. When there are other places in town that can provide the same service, their customer service should be on point. It says a lot that management has had more than just my complaint about this person and yet they're STILL there. read more

What is happening there? I left there today after being treated very rudely by the new manager, Emanuel Turner. I went in to inquire about a lifetime rotate/balance package for a vehicle that I'd recently purchased. I've been a Tire Barn customer for over nine years now, largely based on the outstanding customer service provided by guys like Bryan and Allen, the former manager. Mr. Turner told me that a lifetime rotation/balance would cost $89.95. Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot??? Even if the lifetime rotate/balance package has gone up, $89.95 is way too high. By way of comparison, Sam's and Wal-Mart only charge $9.95/tire so I don't understand the $89.95 price increase. For the entire time that I've been coming to Tire Barn, it's always been $29.95, which I conveyed to Mr. Turner. He tried to tell me that it has never been that cheap, and that he was the new manager, now, so that's the way it was going to be. As I tried to discuss this with him further, he totally blew me off by turning away to answer a ringing phone. No "Excuse me while I take this call", nothing. I've never been treated so rudely as a customer like this anywhere in my life. After he got off the phone, I mentioned to him the rudeness of his behavior, and his response was along the lines of, "Well, you were just continuing to argue with me, so as far as I was concerned, the conversation was over". I can't believe the rudeness of this guy! And it was in front of several other customers also. I was very upset about it, and calmly informed him that that was the last time I'd ever set foot in Tire Barn, that he'd lost all of my business, and that I'd be telling everyone I know to look elsewhere for tire services. I plan to contact corporate about his rude behavior also. This is very disappointing, because up to this point, I'd always felt that I'd been treated fairly. As a matter of fact, Bryan was one reasons I've kept coming back, even after all of the recent changes. He's always gone out of his way to provide outstanding service. But as I said earlier: After today, Tire Barn in Champaign, IL will no longer get one dime of my money (and I'd been taking four vehicles there for service) and I plan to tell everyone I know to look elsewhere for tire services! read more

I was driving through Illinois, on my way home to Missouri, and had a blow-out outside of Champaign. The guy who put on my spare said I couldn't drive home on it, so sent me to Tire Barn for a new tire. Three hours it took to get one tire! And I wasn't the only one. Everyone who came in was told three hours! A lady who came in before me had an appointment and it still took three hours. Then they told everyone to come back after 25 miles to make sure the lug nuts were still tight? Wth? They told me not to worry since I "didn't stay there". Never ever again. I should have gone to Walmart, and I don't even like them. Would have been treated better. Cannot recommend this location. read more

Had made a appointment prior to the day to get my tires rotated and balanced had to wait half an hour past the appointment time then it took over an hour just to rotate and balance for tires after they were finished all four tires and rims were a disgusting mess looked like a five-year-old had ran their fingers all over the room is on the tires they couldn't even wipe them down to show a little bit of courtesy and Customer Service I have another vehicle that I have done at another tire service place and you make an appointment and they get you in at the time of the appointment and It takes them a half hour to do the work and they clean your tires in the process best customer service at the other place which I may add is farm and fleet , Well it's been several days since I posted my review and I did get a contact from someone within the Tire Barn community asking me about my concerns by email and they asked me to call them to discuss the issue and I called and left a message on the phone number given and it has been several days and I have gotten no response whatsoever so I can only assume that Tire Barn is only concerned with getting you to buy their tires and they don't back up jack shit, I will definitely look elsewhere for my next tire purchase it will not be tire barn and I urge other people in the community the same good luck read more

I took my car in today (11-25-2017). At 12:45 for a new set of tires. They said it would be a two hour wait. After two hours I asked if my car was close to being done. They said it was the next car to go in the shop. Finally at 4:55 they got my car done! They promised to check the alignment for free but then asked if I still wanted it done since it was so late. I declined. There were other people that came in after me that left before me so I'm not sure why I got such terrible service. When they handed me my keys and the receipt I expected a thank you or sorry it took so long but they didn't say a word??? They have the worst service. The first time they left a pair of channel locks on my car. And just a week I took my car into there and they left the adjustment bolts loose and I took it back to them and they act like they couldn't do anything for me. So I took it somewhere else n got it fixed and they would not refund my money. A lot of those guys in there are inexperienced and rude... After having a regular tire balance and rotation 2 sensors "went out" and they told me it was their relearn tool. They then told us to get new sensors. We bought 2 new sensors and took it in and then the new sensors and one of me old sensor supposedly went out now. So now I have 3 broken tpms sensors that have been broken in their shop before ever driving away and they will not so anything to fix it or work with me manager is super rude. Please do not take your vehicle here. They are not professional and damage working parts and will not fix. We had to take to the dealership to fix and program new sensor again. read more

Beware. My stepdad took a car in. Bought 5 new tires. Only AFTER the job was done did they tell him they don't align tires for that brand of car. Not a good customer service experience. Corp Customer service called the store on his behalf and store said they didn't have right equipment to do it. Check your brand first before you buy here.
