I made an appointment with a tire shop closer to home but after I saw the fantastic ratings on yelp I decided to come here instead and I'm so happy that I did! My Tesla model Y was starting to shake on the freeway with higher speeds (70+), thinking it was an alignment issue I brought it in to tire central where Dave assisted me. I was quoted $125 for an alignment. After explaining what was wrong with my car and showing a video of my car seat and wheel shaking Dave said it might be a balancing issue. He took a look at my car and then said it might be because of something wrong with the foam inside of the tire. I had no idea what he was talking about but he said they could do a quick inspection to see if that was the case. I waited in their office for a few minutes then Dave called me in the shop to show me that the numbers (balancing? I forget) were way off for the front tire. He told me it would be a quick fix and would check each wheel, quoted me $15 for each wheel. I went back to the office while they worked on my car and Dave called me back to the shop and showed me what the foam looked like in a normal model y tire and then showed my foam which was basically torn apart. He said it was only one tire that needed the repair. So he fixed my issue costing me a total of $15 and probably 30 min wait total. I really appreciated Dave's honest work I felt like he could've easily suggested an alignment and balancing and all these other things but he didn't. Been a bit unlucky lately and had to come twice within 6 months for nails in my tires. The last time I was here, they quickly patched my tire but I found a scratch on my rims upon pickup. They took full responsibility and went with the pricier option, taking into consideration that it would be less of a hassle for me. So, when I checked my Tires further, by taking off the wheels. I see they didn't even bother to balance my tires. There are no weights at all on both wheels. I paid for mounting and balancing, but they only mounted them. What a waste of money. I first made contact with this shop via Yelp to inquire about my tire pressure sensor as the warning light was lit on the dashboard despite all the tires having the right amount of PSI. It had been a while since I had done anything about the tires so I was ready to have them change all 4 sensors, balance and align the wheels without really knowing what each of the latter two meant. We discussed how the car had been driving and determined that two of the tires were worn and I only needed to replace 1 of the sensors. While I was about to set myself up to spend many hundreds of dollars, Tire Central's expertise and complete honesty had me in and out of there in one hour and only spending a couple hundred dollars for two new tires (tire rotations and wheel balancing included) and one new tire pressure sensor. Tire Central is a good place to go for your tire needs. I bought tire pressure sensors from them and tires too. Their tire pressure sensors is basically almost 40% less expensive compared to other tire centers, and even more so if a tire technician comes to your home or office. But I understand if it's an emergency when they come to you. Tire Central does not provide home services, so you're better having your car towed to them. Anyhow, their service is superb. Quick quotation response via Yelp. And when you go, it's not a long wait before someone helps you, whether in the work area or in the office. They're the same people. Lol. Everyone has a good knowledge of tires, alignments, etc. I ordered my tires and it came in after a day. All good. They actually held my tires until I was able to go after a couple weeks. That's awesome, and is quite professional. My tire pressure sensors, they had in stock and all four was replaced quite quickly. And they plugged one tire that had three holes (from screws) in it at no charge. That's probably a very smart business technique to attract and hold onto repeat customers. I visited Tire Central to replace my 5 year old Pirelli tires with Continental Tires, it was packed Saturday morning and the estimated time was 2+ hours, communication was easy and straight forward. I also wanted to get an alignment check but that would add an extra 2 hours so i passed on it. So far the tires are comfy and quiet, hope they last a long time. Only real negative about this place is how busy/successful they are, prices were $20 cheaper here per tire before installation compared to Tire Rack and America's Tires. This isnt the closest tire shop to my home, but with all my auto enthusiast friends commending their price and service, I couldnt say no and wanted to check it out, myself. Theyre a pretty big tire shop with at least 4 lifts and have about every tire you need for your vehicle. Its a really busy tire shop, so i suggest you come in early or call-in to see how the wait times are. Summer 2018 was probably the hottest summer that has ever happened in Los Angeles - hot enough that my tire deflated overnight. Instead of changing the tire, driving with a donut and getting it replaced, i figured i just take the tire out, drive out there to replace the tire and come back and put it back on. Every tire has a tire code that you can check and note down, so when they ask you already know what tire you need. Just bring your wheel in and they will replace it with a new one. whop- there I go- done and back home. Also, if you work at a dealership or service cars in your area, they're also a major tire supplier to my friend's dealership and race teams. Come in, and tell Alan they're doing an incredible job and that CL Autogroup recommends them. read more

I wanted to give a shout out to Tire Central because I felt like they were really honest. I had a huge screw sticking out of my rear tire. When I came in, the man that helped did a double check. He made sure with the soap and water test if the air was coming out. And it wasn't. I was lucky that the screw came out in a spot that didn't cause the entire tire to eventually pop or slowly deflate out. I just appreciate that someone didn't try to sell me a brand new tire. I walked in on a Monday morning around 11:30am to get my tires replaced due to a nail on my front right passenger side. I was told that they're able to replace the tire for free because the nail was located on center of the tire and my car was ready within 30-40 minutes. Bought a set of Michelin PS4S to be mounted onto my new forged wheels from APEX Race Parts. Ran into an issue later in the day where one wheel was leaking air due to the way the rim is designed (knurled beads). Alan was happy to fix the issue himself using bead sealer to fill in the gaps due to the knurled beads. The next day, had the same issue with the rest of the wheels and had to tow it back there. Alan and his team was more than helpful to remount the other three wheels and tires before closing on a Saturday. This was super important because it was Memorial Day weekend so I needed my car fixed so I can have it for the next few days. All in all, they basically remounted the wheels twice and didn't charge me extra for it (even as I offered) due to the complications caused by the wheel's design. They also installed my own TPMS that I provided for free when mounting the tires. Another tire shop (Crown City Tire) I had originally planned to go to in South Pasadena (before I found out about Tire Central) wouldn't install TPMS that they didn't sell themselves, so this was a big plus for me. Tire Central was also a few hundred cheaper than that other shop for the same set of tires. David was also really helpful in communication when I was ordering the set of wheels through here on Yelp. It was a little complicated due to having to hire a Taskrabbit to move the wheels since my car is so small, so I appreciated his help in planning ahead for that. Besides being super helpful and pleasant to work with, the staff also seems to be pretty tight knit here. There's a good vibe! I also get the sense that a lot of them are car enthusiasts themselves so you know they care. Will def be coming back for sure!! Just a heads up--there's no appointments, it's first come, first served, so plan ahead. read more

I ended up buying 4 Falkens for my car...no upselling on Alan's part... but after he reminded me of the specifications....I realized these tires had done their job, 11 yrs and 8 yrs old respectively. Time to change. Rubber ages even if your car just sits in the garage unused....Alan made sure my new Falkens would fit, he had to order 2 more...and since it was before 11 am, they were delivered by 3 am...same day....and yippeee, my little miata had new tires by 4:30. This place used to be an auto repair shop owned by Taiwanese man Sam and his partner. Unfortunately he retired and sold this place to Tire central. few days ago I hit a nail and had a flat tire. I called in and the man on the phone just told me to go straight in. I believe he is the boss behind the counter. The Hispanic service tech that helped me patch the tire was speedy and professional. The repair took only few minutes and I was surprised that they didn't charge me for it. I wanted to pay something so I requested them to have my tires rotated. Tire Central has been my family's go to tire place for the past decade when they were at their previous location on Pine St. Their current location is on Broadway Ave, cross street is San Gabriel Blvd. They offer the best tire rates and never overcharge. Usually when my husband needs to change tires, he calls a day before and they can get your tires next morning for the Toyota Prius. It's first come first serve basis so he usually tries to get there a little before 9am when they open so he can be one of the first ones. They work so fast that he's usually done within the hour, unless he is in a long waiting queue. I recently got a nail stuck in my tire and sent them a picture to ask if it is repairable and they quickly responded saying yes. I brought my car in on a Tuesday afternoon and was very lucky that I did not have to wait in a queue. The gentleman remembered that I had called earlier and quickly pulled my car in to get the spare taken out, tire repaired and put back in, put back the spare, and checked/added air in my tires. I was good to go in less than half an hour! And on top of that, he said he didn't charge for repairing the tire.
