This Tread Quarters currently has had good communication with us. Most recently we brought our older vehicle in for oil change & asked them to look at the brakes. There was a bigger issue than we anticipated but because we've worked with them on other issues with other vehicles it was easy to chat it out with them and agree on a solution to make the vehicle safe. It's difficult to find a trustworthy vehicle repair shop. So far we are happy with the work this Tread Quarters has done for our fleet of family vehicles. Rob and his team set me up with (4) Cooper Discover A/Ts and my out the door pricing was much better than I expected. Make sure you get them to check that the actual tire is there before you go. We drove an hour to come get 4 tires and an oil change. Get there drop my vehicle off and think everything's good to go. Nope. Get a phone call 2 hours later for them to tell me they don't have the tires there. Then tried to get me to get tires that were $110 more per tire. No offer of a discount for the issue nothing. I told them I would just come pick it back up cause that was ridiculous. They told me they had already done the oil change. No biggy. I'll pay that and take my vehicle and go on. I get there they are actually doing the oil change just then. A bunch of wasted time and money. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. Do better. read more

I am a true road warrior. I drive about 2-4 hours each day for work. Keeping my car maintained is important but I don't have time to give my car to a shop for an entire day, like most places tend to need. I stopped by this Tire Choice when I had some free time while in Summerville, SC. They were able to get my car on a lift in about 25 min and oil change and tire rotation completed within an hour! . Took my car in for repair. They got various radiator hoses fixed. Immediately starts overheating again 3 minutes up the road. Bring it back and turns out air bubbles in the line. No big deal. 2 months later I have the same issue. Car is eating through coolant And overheating. Take it back in for inspection, they tell me head gasket because of a "Radiator compression test". Long story short shitty mechanic didn't do his job. It was water pump. Had it done across the street at AAMCO for half the price Tire Choice quoted me for same job. Upon seeing owner respond I went against my better judgement and wanted to see if he made changes and sent business his way. Experience today below. Let me start by saying I have a limiting knowledge of cars, so I'm very conscientious about being taken advantage of. Because of this, I'm very particular about finding a mechanic I can trust, and I found that trust here. I took my car in for a coolant leak. There was a charge for the inspection, but it was dropped because they found it very quickly. The mechanic, Ron, even allowed me into the shop to show exactly where the leak is and why. They then showed me an outline of the cost for the part, the cost of the labor, and encouraged me to look online for any discounts. Turn around was quick. I dropped off my car a little before they closed and got the call for pickup the next morning. Ron again took the time to show the broken part, then took me to my car to show the working part, and he even fixed something else that was rattling without charge. I love the welcoming transparency, education to client, and hands-on approach. This is a place anyone can trust, and I will certainly be back. read more

I took my vehicle in for an oil change and asked them to check the transmission fluid since my vehicle does not have a dipstick for the transmission. When I came to pick it up, my bill was $258. They did an entire transmission service without asking me, or giving me an estimate. Be very careful when dealing with this organization. read more

Great friendly service. They never try to nickel and dime you like the other places. All of their prices are up front and they explain everything they are doing before they do it. If they mess up, they will own up to their mistake and fix it at no cost to you. The best and most honest service I have ever received from an Auto Repair shop. I have 100 shops that are closer to where I live but I choose to drive the extra 20 minutes to go here due to the outstanding service that I have received. read more

I had an appointment to get the tires balanced. I walked in and waited patiently for 15 minutes behind a customer at the counter who was being charged close to $200 more for tires than he was originally quoted. Not once did the employee even acknowledge me. He was more insistent on trying to get paid. The customer wrote a check and was informed that tread quarters could not except his check that he would have to pay with a credit card or debit card. The customer explained that the money was all coming out of the same account but the man working did not seem to care. When I turned towards the door and decided to leave the employee finally acknowledged saying he'd be with me shortly. I told him that I had been standing there for an over 20 minutes and that I would have to reschedule my appointment and I just left. read more

This place tried to stick it to me in 2 separate visits. About 2 yrs. ago, they tried to tell me that my tie rod was bad and needed to be replaced. I went an entire year and a half without a problem from that tie rod. Finally had it replaced (by someone else) at that time. Most recently, I went in for just an oil change....nothing else. They tried to tell me that I had an oil pan gasket leak. Funny, I said, there's been no oil leaking on my driveway. Next day I took it to TWO other independent mechanics to verify (or not) that I had an oil pan gasket leak. BOTH of them said I had NO OIL PAN GASKET LEAK. Big surprise. I was then told by the manager that I had been undercharged for my previous oil change visit back in 2014...and that my oil change now would cost me more. The other 2 reviews on here are obviously from friends of the manager and mechanic(s). Someone else we know went to this Tread Quarters, and the mechanic put the wrong oil in his car, as well as the wrong amount; they put in 4.5 qts. and the car takes 8 qts. Is filling up your tires with air too much to ask these days? I had a flat and took my car in to have the tire fixed and the spare put back in the trunk. It took a good 45 minutes, which was alright since it was a Saturday morning, but there were only two other cars in the lot. The guy in the front was friendly enough and didn't try to up-sell me. A few days later however, a yellow light lit up on my dashboard and a friend suggested to check the air pressure in my tires. All four of my tires were seriously low, with the one tire they just fixed being the worst. Hmmmm, did they let air out of my tires or were they too lazy to check the tire pressure and fill them all up. Either way, I'm not going back. read more

What a mess. Booked appt online for 4 new tires. After waiting for my vehicle for an hour (no complaints there!) I went to sign the receipt and noticed the tires listed on the receipt was not what I ordered. They put the wrong tires on my truck! I then had to prove with my email confirmation that I in fact ordered the correct tires because they don't even carry the ones I ordered. Eventually 4 of the correct tires were located at another store and I was told they'd be there the very next morning and they would call when they came in, so that I could come straight in and get the right ones put on. Fast forward to the next day, at 5PM, when I finally call them to see if my tires are in... "Yeah, they've been here all day. I wasn't aware I had to call you." Now the next day (day 3) and I come in for my appointment to get the right tires put on. Again, very speedy at changing out four tires, only about an hour. However, once I pull out of the lot my TPMS shows my tires are 7psi under inflated! I pulled into a gas station to look at them and notice the huge stickers are still on the tread of the tires!! So right back to the shop I went and got "There's no stickers on there, I pulled them off myself." ... well that's funny because I was just down the street looking at them myself!! Finally got the tires pressed to the right psi and the stickers half-a** pulled off and away a went. This whole endeavor was so poor it drove me to write my first Yelp review! read more

Don't go!!! I went there for convienice bc it's near my office. The sign said $21.99 for an oil change and they charged me $29.99. When I asked why the price difference he said "tax". How much is the tax percentage? I looked at the receipt and the tax was only $1.60. So the sign should've read $28.39. Then of course he told me I needed to get several things done ASAP! They charged me $900 for my rear brakes, claimed they couldn't even take it off the lift so it had to fixed by them... This weekend my brakes locked up on me with my children in the car. I had someone look at it and they found a tool hanging off my brake line! Not only did they claim that the tool did no damage but they didn't even apologize. Not even a lousy coupon. I have been here at this location for 7 oil changes every 3000 miles and each and every time i go in for an oil change they tell me it will be a couple of hours, I wait and they usually get it done in about 30 minutes, Today i went in with an attitude that they will not discourage me from turning around and walking out so the worker told me it will be a couple of hours so I said to him "thats it!" then i'll wait not soon after that he said it would be more like 3 to 4 hours. I hope the owner looks at this and try some new tactics on trying to discourage people from going here. 2 cars in the bay and 3 people standing around doing nothing!! it's getting old. read more
