I had a very frustrating and concerning experience with Tire Choice Auto Center (Store #1385 in Tampa). I brought my 2018 Audi A4 in on March 13 for four new tires and a routine oil change. I was told it would take about four hours and be done the same day. Instead, it took four days to get my car back. During that time, the staff acknowledged they had mistakenly drained the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil, which required additional correction and caused the delay. That alone was alarming. Within 24 hours of picking up the car, my daughter was driving on the highway when the splash shield detached and started dragging underneath the vehicle. She had to pull over and call for roadside assistance to remove it. We later found out the splash shield could not be reinstalled and needs full replacement, costing $910.46, plus $100 for roadside assistance. I spoke with the store, who referred me to higher-level management. I then sent a detailed email with all documentation and was told the issue would be reviewed. I have received no follow-up. I'm simply asking to be reimbursed for the $1,010.46 in damages caused immediately after their service. Between the multi-day delay, admitted mistake, and unsafe condition right after pickup, this experience was extremely disappointing. I would not trust this location with my vehicle. Update (30 April 2026): After escalation to corporate, the issue was reviewed and ultimately resolved through their insurance provider. The full amount of damages was reimbursed. While the initial experience was frustrating, I appreciate that the matter was ultimately made right. read more

I used to be a loyal customer when Jason was the manager, and have since decided to give them another go with my new 2020 Wrangler. The communication between the manager and his techs and front desk staff was completely absent - we waited 2 days before we had a solid answer on the work that was being done and why there was the delay. Tire Choice, North Morgan Street in downtown Tampa. I highly recommend going there and ask for the manager. I have went through a lot in the last several months about a humming coming from my car. It started when I bought new tires.I bought them from firestone, and I started hearing the noise. Firestone and toyota, all talked about a rim being bent. It had to be a rim was warped or bent for this to have this sound they both said. So I spent quite a bit of money on a vin restricted special wheel that went on my vehicle. The car came with the vin restricted bronze wheels. So the new rim went on, it didn't do anything. Before the new rim went on, I went to several places who could not guarantee that fixing the rim would even work. New rim on the wheel. I went back to firestone, for their ninety day buy and try, and trade those tires and got a new set of tires in exchange. Good tires. The noise is even worse. Having looked at the car multiple times neither firestone nor toyota could even suggest anything else maybe causing the problem. I happen to stop in tire choice in downtown tampa near my office beecause firestone had inflated my tires at way too much pressure. Tire choice took air out upon my request and I happened to mention to the manager what has been going on for the last several months. In two seconds, he says it's a wheel bearing. But he told me not to get it repaired with them because it should be under warranty with toyota. I call toyota to inquire whether a wheelbearing can go out on a car that's only two years old, and would it be covered under warranty. I happen to mention to him what the gentleman at tire choice told me and his exact words were whoever you talked to knows his stuff. I take it back up to toyota, they order a wheelbearing, I have to of course go back when it comes in, to have the new wheelbearing put on one of the wheels. And guess what. It fixed it.There is no more noise at all. Went through several months, stopping at different places, spending money when the manager of tire choice knew it in two seconds. read more

I will start by saying that the manager Gabrielle was quick and friendly after I experienced poor service at the South Tampa location. On another note, the corporate company, Monro, Inc. rips people off! I bought all new tires ($172 per tire) from Tire Choice and paid $120+ extra for the road hazard coverage. After hitting an object in the road and having a blow out, I needed to have a tire completely replaced. Unfortunately, after inputting my mileage and road hazard info into their "new program", I was going to be actually paying more this time for my tire. How is this possible that I now have to pay $182 for a replacement tire when I have the road hazard coverage and I am still within the time and mileage parameters of said coverage. I could have gone to Pep Boys, or anywhere for that matter, and bought the same tire for $150 (labor included)!!! In summary, do your research people. The corporate office is out to make lots of money and not make customers happy. OVERPRICED and selling coverages that do nothing for the customer. I will be filing a BBB complaint as to the Monro, Inc. and Tire Choice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE I went there to change my worn out tires. My bmw Z4 started driving worse with the new tires than the old ones. It started weaving at high speeds. I took it back to them, got a diagnosis of various things including the tire rods and wheel alignment which should have been checked in the first place. The store manager was unfriendly, impolite and rude. I took the car to another place close by. They rebalanced the wheels and the car drives fine now. Please avoid Tires Choice in downtown Tampa at all costs. They do a poor job and will try to rip you off into stuff that don't exist. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! While a simple mistake made could have been easily resolved with correct customer service.. it has now escalated because of the blatant RUDENESS of this company!!! I was visiting Tampa and had gotten a flat tire .. went there & it was going so smoothly. Manager was nice at first, then I get told that my tire was done but unfortunately my back windshield was accidentally broken and completely gone. I'm in a state of panic because I was due to get in my car and drive home 4 hours way (with my daughter) he begins to tell me he can't get it fixed for me until Jan 2 2024 (this was December 21st) so I was going to have to drive home with no back windshield and then wait 2 weeks to get it fixed ? What ? So I asked for compensation off my bill & that's when he was not so nice anymore! Began to tell me he compensated me enough by setting up the appointment ( I have this all on video too btw) and that they did enough to make it right.! I went back and forth with him and paid for my tire because he threaten to call the police and take it off and I wasn't about to have no tire and no back windshield! I called my dad... that's when he all of a sudden wanted to be nice and help me and was sorry this ever happened (of course, I was a female and he made that clear he was trying to get over on me) That's when I was asked to stay in Tampa another night & that he would ensure me a rental car to drive home in. I was hesitant because I had to work the next day but figured I had no other choice because my back windshield was gone!!!!! Stay another night ; arrive there the next day to the shop manager saying he can't do anything and his district manager told him to stop. No rental, no nothing. So I'm now stuck in a city I have never ever been to, with a broken back windshield and no other way to get home other then to drive my broken ass car FOUR HOURS AWAY! WITH MY KID IN THE CAR. The shop taped it up and sent me on my way without a car for the safety of me, my daughter or anyone else on the road! Fast forward; dealing with their insurance company (they did pay for replacement & detail , once you see the pictures you'll see why it needed detailing) and I was pushed from their insurance back over to MONRO CUSTOMER SERVICE for the loss of wages because their insurance plan did not cover that. Ok no problem (travels insurance is amazing and they were sooooo helpful and nice) Get to speaking to their customer service at MONRO because tire choice is owned by MONRO and let me tell you, TRASH. The customer service was on a scale of 1-10 .. a solid -10 Not only was I asked to stay another night in a hotel room for a rental care I never received, but I also had to miss work. Times are tough & it was literally FOUR DAYS before Christmas & this company DID NOT CARE AT ALL. They are MONEY HUNGRY , GREEDY , SCUM OF THE EARTH people. they do not care about the safety of their customers at all, they want your money and literally could care less if you died as you were leaving their property and they made that abundantly clear when they allowed myself and my daughter to drive four hours away after they broke my back windshield. STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPANY UNDER MONRO And apparently they don't know how to read considering they commented saying to take it up with their insurance. MONRO you are cheap as shit! I am not impressed with this place. I got a flat on my 2019 Volkswagen. I had to go back 3 times to get my tire adjusted. The wrong tire was sent the first time which Jason claimed wasn't his fault. They put it on and told me to come back 2 days later when the correct size arrived. He also felt the need to tell me how he wasn't a fan of Volkswagen cars - cool but I didn't ask for your opinion on my car ?? Why would you go out of your way to tell a customer that you don't like the brand of your car ? Then I came back and they put the correct tire on. Then I had to come back AGAIN because I drove off and there was a noise being made due to the weight distribution being incorrect. I don't know a lot about cars but I knew something was wrong. Overall I wouldn't come back here. I have a lot of doubts about the quality of work performed and honestly I felt like the mechanics there weren't knowledgeable or professional. For $225 total to replace 1 tire I would expect exceptional service and that isn't what I received. The manager Jason didn't even apologize or compensate in any way for the multiple inconveniences. He also had a huge wad of dip in his mouth spitting as he was talking to me and I just felt like it was super unprofessional and gross. read more

I sent my daughter here to get her brakes looked at 3 weeks ago after visiting her and not liking the way her car drove. They sent her home and said that after performing the free brake inspection that everything look great. Fast forward 3 weeks to last Saturday. I made an appointment online for a specific time for an oil change stating that she needed the blended synthetic oil change and my daughter shows up only to be told that there isn't time for that to be perform and was told to come back on Monday. Today, Monday, she goes in, 23 year old blonde that stands 5'4" tall and weighs 120 lbs, drops the car off for the stated oil change and tells them she will come back when its finished. She later receives a phone call from them stating that she needed a radiator flush, brake fluid change (which i thought would of been checked out 3 weeks earlier by the same place), a new battery and an oil change. Keep in mind we just purchased the car and had a copy of the the inspection report from Estero Bay chevrolet stating that all of these had passed inspection from there trained mechanics. I feel that they totally took a young lady for every penny she had left in the bank and walked away happy. I have already contacted the chevy dealer and double check that all was inspected less than 4 months ago and they said nothing but the oil change should have needed done. STAY AWAY!!!! I brought my car in for an oil change & Brian told me I needed new tires. I was quoted approximately $972.00. I almost died!!! Then he quoted me a price on a different tire which was approximately $708.00. He quoted me a 3rd tire of approximately $613.00. I went to Sam's Club & was quoted a price of $505.00. I asked Brian if he could match it, he told me those tires were tier 3 & not as good as his tires. I did find a set on Tire Choice web site. I asked Brian if he could possibly get the price down to what Sam's had quoted me. Brian told me he would call me the next day as he had to work the numbers & talk with someone about it. I called a few days later & was told that Brian had left for the day & a message would be given to him to call me back. I'm still waiting for Brian to call me back since Tuesday, 2/26, today is Wednesday, 3/6. I truly want to continue with my business at this Tire Choice store as it is so close to my job & I've used them for many years. But don't tell me your going to call me back & then you don't. I've been taking my car for oil changes here for years. I know I can get it done cheaper else where l, but I work nearby and it's convenient. I brought my car in for an oil change and to have them change my battery as it had died at home before leaving for work. They called me and advised that the total cost was $390!!!!! The oil change is about $70 (synthetic), and the remaining was for the battery!! That's $320...for a battery! The mechanic advised that the battery was $180 because apparently it's super special. So the remaining $140 was labor. That's nearly 100% of the cost of the batter for them to do a 10 minute battery replacement. I'm not sure if they're aware, but EVERYWHERE installs batteries for free - Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, Sears, WALMART. I priced the battery and the most I found it was $160 at auto zone, free installation and 3 year warranty. Ended up getting the battery way Walmart for $93 out the door. I'll also note, that I waited longer than I ever have at this visit. I got there around 8am, and had to knock on the door to the garage to get any help after waiting for 10 minutes - to be told "I'm not on the clock but I'll help you." Then when I got to pick up the car I got there at 5p, again waited at the desk for 10 minutes before calling their phone number. The mechanic answered and told me "Well my hands are covered in oil but I'll be right there." After all this - I got a bill for $105 for my oil change + $29.99 to tell me I needed a battery - which I told them I needed when I got there. Shame on them. I've been warned by many co-workers that this location is a rip off. I've never had an issue with my oil changes, but after this experience I'll never go back. read more

i have tried to schedule an appointment to have my car fixed her 3 times. all three times Jason has lied about one thing or another. He use to be a car salesman and I think that says it all. He tells me one thing on the phone and another when I bring my car in. he doesn't seem to care about people, their time or their vehicles. Also the quote he gave me he said he covered a belt but later I found out he never planned to replace it. when I brought this to his attention he went off on me on the phone and told me to take my business elsewhere, no one questions him. When I discovered that my car had a flat in the morning before heading to a full day of work (on a Friday no less), I ended up needing to take my wife's car for the day. Meanwhile, the Tire Choice received my car via tow truck that same day and worked with her to not only replace the affected tire, but also address my interest/concern (conveyed over phone/text) to replace the other tires because I had intended to anyway. As it would turn out, they had the exact tire model and sizes that I wanted for my car's staggered setup and were able to complete it all by the time I finished with work for the day. I can't say enough great things about Jason and the rest of the staff. I came here with a flat tire and as a woman am always speculative of the mechanic shops I visit. However the staff and Jason here immediately welcomed me in a non-intimidating way, expalained the damage that caused the flat tire and provided me with the best option to resolve the issue. Since the tire was completely flat, I was unable to plug it but they were able to give me an agreeable cost for a new tire that was cheaper than the one I purchased from the dealership. The new tire performs great and I've had no other issues with my vehicle. In most cases you'd go to a mechanic shop to fix one thing but for them to break 15 additional things. The team here works with integrity and honesty as you can tell the value of their customers in their work. I hope I don't encounter another flat tire anytime soon but if I do, I'm confident that the team here will get me back on the road quickly without any hassle. read more

I needed to replace the rear brake pads and rotors on my Audi. I went to another shop near by and they gave me estimate for $1010. I called McGee Auto Service and they quoted $671. I had them do the work, when I went to pick up the car, the bill was $523 which is $150 less than they quoted me. They got the parts cheaper and passed on the savings to me.
