I decided to try a local business instead of the normal larger tire companies - the staff is friendly and also willing to order a tire for you which usually takes a hour to get. Please note - this isn't a fancy place; they do have waiting room with cable, vending machine, and restroom in the back. I compared prices with Belle Tire - even though they were a couple bucks more for a tire i didn't mind; less customers and no one trying to sell me additional things (I'll take it). So one of my tires was just ripped apart - they say it dry-rotted because of the weather. Needed a new tire fast. Went to Belle Tire on Telegraph and they were not open. So, I put on my thinking cap and there is a tire place at the corner of Warren and Beech Daly. So, I decide on this place. Go there and the young man was nice enough, he checks my tire and yep I need a new one - all ready I only have 25,000 miles on my car. Firestone - that was the name of the tire and I am pretty sure that Ford Motor stopped using Firestone because their customer service has gone down. So, I inquire about another brand. The salesman was perplexed that I did not want another Firestone - I said why would I want another of those tires when this tire completely broke down!? Duh, just because I'm blonde does not mean I was born blonde! So, I ask about price and the cheapest is about $140 - WHAT???? You use to pay that for 4 tires! WTH. So, I tell him I am a Sr. Citizen - can I have a discount - woo hoo he gives me $5 whole dollars off! Gee whiz. Anyway, I need a tire - so I tell him okay. He says come back tomorrow we'll have the tire in by then. I look at him and say really! What a bunch of losers. He made me put a deposit down and the next day yes - I had a flat tire - thanks Discount House - you were very expensive and not amenable whatsoever. Will definitely not return. Price shopped getting my rim repaired from a bend that was making it loose air all over the city, finally ending up here. It only cost $25, the owner was straight up with me and seems like a great guy. While I was there he was constantly walking around checking on his repair men, helping when needed, training the new guys etc. After they got my tire off the rim they showed me where the inside of my sidewalk got ripped to shreds because of the impact. They got me into a used Michelin tire for $35, lots of tread left on it too. The wait time was about an hour right in the middle of the day. I love supporting local businesses and this is one I will definitely continue to support. read more

They are reasonably priced right now because they want to make a good impression at their New location... I don't want to be real descriptive of my complaint, because I might need their service again " because they're close " They misdiagnosed my suspension problem & wanted $ 600 / $ 700 to correct it... I went to a different Tire Shop & got it resolved .for only $ 20. !!! Beware of this place..get a second opinion ... Well I went back for some work. Again , I think they're on Dope. Tire Discount House has been in business since 1959. I've been going there since the 1970s. The owner, Rick Bixman, really knows the tire business. He's always takes the time to get me the right wheels and tires for my vehicle. He's never tried to up sell me something just to make a buck. I've always gotten extremely competitive prices. If something needs to be special ordered, he can sometimes get it there the same day. There is really no need to go to anywhere else for wheels and tires. read more
