Trust me! Take my advice and ignore all other places. This is the place to go for all your car needs especially if you have a european car, whether it's mercedes, audi, Vw, BMW, mini, Saab etc. Tom is great and very knowledgeable when it comes to these cars and also a very charismatic individual. My wife's car, 2006 VW Jetta TDI was having an issue with the car going into limp mode at random times especially on the highways. It was beyond frustrating because the check engine light would go on with a generic code which made it hard to pin-point the exact cause of the issue. Tom took my car in and drove it for couple of days to troubleshoot the problem, and he did find the problem. It was a broken waste gate actuator that'd fail to open intermittently especially when the engine was under heavy load. After replacing the actuator the problem went away.. thanks to Tom. Here's the deal, I took the car to several mechanics prior to Euro Specialists, and none of them could figure out the problem. They all charged me diagnostic fees along with other things that they thought was causing the limp mode. Unknowledgeable crooks that will call you a liar. Charged like 400 bucks for a 60 dollar ecu and they didn't even program it right. So I have lived in the area for 7 years now and really didn't have a reason to try European Specialists. I purchased a 2007 750 LI BMW. I needed a oil change and brake fluid flush. But the real reason I needed to go there was my right passenger front door soft lock wasn't working and my door wouldn't latch closed. So I was driving the car with some string to keep the door closed. after the string broke 2 times and the door opened fully on 95, I figured I better get it checked. I had a feeling the price was around 1k to get it fixed as its not just a door lock, its a BWM fancy lock that has a brain and computer chip the controls the entire world. So being in trouble already with my wife over the price, Tom called me from European Specialists after I dropped it off. Now rewind 35 hours. I made a appointment on the computer to drop it off. It was confirmed right away after making it. I was off that day so I called and asked if they could take me in today vs tomorrow. Tom said I am sorry but monday's and fridays are booked. I said no worries and will see you tomorrow. I dropped the car off and the first person who I met was Tom. Extended his hand and said good afternoon. He explain what they would do and start in the morning as I was dropping it off the night before. Two other guys introduced themselves to me as well. I was surprised of the service offered. I am in the hospitality industry and understand service and the value of WOWing the customer and creating raving fans of a business. So now its Wednesday afternoon and here comes the call from that number that is going to cause me a fight when I get home with my wife over this 1.3k invoice that Tom is going to tell me about. Tom said I have bad news and good news. I said Tom, I am in trouble with my wife already so don't kill me on pricing. He explained the oil change and the brake flush was completed. I said great. Now whats the bad news.... He said I can't fix your car. I said ok but why. He said there was a recall on the lock and we can't fix it , but take it to BMW with this paper we printed out and the will fix it for free as it is a safety recall. I was like no F...ing way. So think about this.... In todays world everyone is looking to make a fast $$. Most would never know if there was a recall or not. They could have replaced the part and my invoice would have been 1k +. European Specialists did not do that. They had integrity. So that 1k+ invoice that they didn't collect because of their honesty, will become 10 fold in $$ because of not ripping me off. This was my first experience with bringing my vehicle to a mechanic seeing as I'm normally a DIY kind of guy, but my Mini Cooper was having computer issues that went way beyond what I could fix. I was very nervous to drop it off, until I got there and met the crew. Very nice lady at the front counter introduced me to the mechanic Tom, they both quickly made me much more comfortable. I highly recommend them and going forward I will not hesitate on bringing my car there with any needs I might have. A couple years ago the factory warranty ran out on my other car, a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT. I had always taken that car to the dealership for any work done on her, even just oil changes. I will not discount the incredible car that the dealership gave me, but the personal care that I and my cars get at European Specialists makes the dealership pale in comparison. So yes, I take my "American" car to ES now. I say American in quotes because it was actually manufactured by Holden in Australia. I know that getting parts for both of my cars is a challenge, but ES is on the of their game! I wouldn't trust my cars to anyone else. In addition to the mechanical work that they do on my G8, John had highly recommended putting Nokian Tyres on the car. It's a rwd beast, that by any right should not be driven in the snow, but it is. First winter with the Nokians on my car and I had never felt so sure-footed! So, not only do I highly recommend ES for all your auto repair needs, but also for the Nokian Tyres they sell! I normally would never give a poor review unless totally permitted. Brought my Volvo xc90 to European Specialists because I was having troubles with my drivers side window control switch. The drivers side window wasn't working. I tried to troubleshoot the problem myself, but to no avail. The mechanics told Me that my master window control switch was bad and that it would cost over $950 to fix. $450 just for the part and the other $500 or so on installation and programming fees. They told Me that the new switch would have to be programmed and that I would have to buy a brand new "blank" switch. It couldn't be bought used and installed. Needless to say I thought $950 to fix my window was absolutely ridiculous. I had to pay the $135 diagnostic charge for them telling Me what the problem was. With a little research I found out that they were totally lying to Me about having to buy a new switch for $450 and that it needed to be programmed as well. I went on EBay and bought a used master switch for $26 and installed it myself in under a half hr. Please be careful if you are bringing your car to these people they are totally looking to take advantage of people. read more

LOVE euro specialists....i bought a 98 volvo v70 awd on ebay....and got scammed....i would have not known it if it wasnt for the guys here....not only were they totally upfront they also acknowledged my issue and worked with me....my car sat there for weeks while i had to hash things out with my lawyer, the lot i bought the car from and them....they understood what was going on on my end and were gracious enough not to charge me for storage....if i can help it...i will not take my car anywhere else... read more

I give credit when credit is due, but this facility has been robbing my elderly mother for a while. She uses them because the Saab dealership in Guilford closed and she lives very close to them, despite my telling her to stay away from them because of my one and only experience with them. So my mother's car sprung a gas leak in the front portion of the car between the two front tires. I visually saw where it was coming from and so did the fire department that had to be called in order to be towed by AAA. Unfortunately this happened on Saturday, so we had the car towed to ES with a full page note on the front seat that there was a gas leak coming from the front of the car and to call my mother (name and number provided). When we didn't hear from them by 10:00 yesterday, I called them to discuss what they would do to find the problem. I was shocked when the woman who answered the phone indicated that they had already pulled the gas tank out because there was a leak in the back of the car. There was no leak from the back of the car and I as well as the Madison Fire Department will confirm and validate that. I was mortified that they had pulled the gas tank off of the car without any prior discussion or authorization because the leak wasn't from the rear end of the car. When I began questioning why they did this without prior authorization or discussion, the woman with whom I spoke indicated that she was not the individual who worked on the car so couldn't answer any of my questions, although she was able to tell me that pulling the gas tank out was going to cost my mother $278 and a new fuel pump would be replaced for an additional $975. I was flabbergasted and totally taken aback. Why would they begin work, totally ignoring the note that the leak was at the front of the car, remove the gas tank and presume the fuel pump needs to be replaced. I told them we did not authorize this work and would not pay for it and that we would have it towed elsewhere to a more honest and reputable facility that wasn't going to rip my mother off. They offered nothing but dug in their heels and said it would cost my mother $278 and they wouldn't give us the keys or relinquish the car without payment to take it some place else. I contacted my attorney. I am contacting the Department of Consumer Protection, the BBB and the local television stations to report this facility. This is just not the way you do business. After having a very disappointing series of issues with Audi of Wallingford I needed to find a new mechanic to service my Q5. I spoke to Tom at European Specialists and was immediately impressed and relieved that I had found a new place to go for service. I booked the appt with ease and brought my car in to have my brakes done as well as have them look at some other possible issues with the car. I was also provided with a loaner. I have been a customer of European Specialist for years and can't rave enough about their service and professionalism. They always inform me along the way as to the repair and cost associated. Nothing is a surprise - the service advisers contact me if an unforeseen element would alter the original estimate and await my okay before they proceed without authorization. Just recently I had them install Nokian snow tires on my SAAB 9.5 and I just want to note how pleased I am. John ( the owner ) said I wouldn't be disappointed and he was on the button. I travel about 750 a week in all kinds of weather and with this unusual harsh Winter, these Nokian's have been a life and stress saver. Even in dry weather conditions, the handling of my auto has been outstanding. Slightly more expensive than my previous brand, but worth every dollar more. I just recently placed four snows on my wife's Toyota and she has noticed the difference also. I will never again buy anything other than Nokian tires. read more

I never write reviews on products or service but this one is something that cannot go without comment. Worst customer service ever! A place like this is the reason car dealerships get such a bad reputation. This company sold me something but then didn't deliver upon the product. When we purchased the vehicle it was advertised as coming with an extra set of tires. When we picked the vehicle up, the dealer could not find the tires. We paid for the vehicle in full and took the word of the dealer that they would be finding the tires and calling us as soon as they were able to locate them out of storage. Big mistake!! After two weeks of not hearing back from them, as promise, we called them and were finally able to pick up the tires but minus the hubcaps. They told us they would look for them but never got back to us after several calls and stops into the shop. They finally told us they were "missing". No one from the dealership offered to replace the caps and when asked if they would pay for a replacement set of hubcaps, as sold with the vehicle, we were told "no." Buyer beware! read more
