Pricing was more reasonable than the dealership for a repair I needed done. They asked what the dealership was charging for one wheel bearing to be replaced, and once I shared it, they were suddenly insisting I replace both, even though my research indicated for my car that both did not need to be done at once. The dealership said only one needed replacing, so this was suspicious. They also went ahead and did a realignment after doing that work, even though again my research said this didn't need to be done for my car after this type of repair. I said not to do it to save me some money, but they did it anyways without asking my permission first. Shouldn't that be standard practice? I haven't had any issues since the repair was done, and my car is SO much quieter, so overall am pleased. One of the managers or maybe even owners offered me a ride to pick me up when my car was ready, which I accepted since it was a crazy heat wave and it was difficult to get back there otherwise. One thing that was weird was I made an appointment to have a wheel bearing fixed, was running a little late due to being stuck in a meeting (probably showed up only 10 minutes after my appointment time - I know, not ideal, but also not crazy), and when I got there they said they wouldn't have time to fix it that day as previously promised since they still had to order the part. They called to tell me this an hour or two after I dropped off the car. What?? I felt like Jerry Seinfeld on the rental car episode - I made a reservation/appointment, what do you mean you don't have time or the part yet? I had to pick my car up and come back the next day which was inconvenient, especially since it was right before a holiday. Very weird business practice. Their AI maintenance system flagged a ton of things as needing repair when I had just been to the dealership for regular service, and they hadn't flagged 75% of these new so called "issues," so I don't know what to believe. The system is cool because you can view the full report online and reference it, but the price I was quoted to fix everything was insane and much higher than the dealership even. They didn't offer any package deals or discounts to do it all at once which I feel is very standard. Kind of having mixed thoughts about coming back. They were nice and answered my questions, but their maintenance system seems way too over sensitive and recommends service you may not need - it's hard to tell what is true. I have used them in the past for tires issues, but I just needed my car inspected and have to say that they went above and beyond in providing the service. There was an issue that would have prevented the car from passing, and they called me to tell me, offering me options, and helping me make the decision for the best value and outcome. I brought my car to Tire MD for a routine fluid change, including the differential and transmission, which cost me around $2700. My vehicle had no issues before the service, but immediately after leaving the shop, it started making an unusual noise. I called Tire MD right away and was advised to bring the car back the next day. Upon returning, they initially told me the noise was due to a tire issue. After saving up, I brought the vehicle back for new tires, but then they informed me that the noise was actually coming from the differential/transmission. Notably, Tire MD is the only shop that has ever worked on these parts of my vehicle, and the noise began right after their service. I calmly explained this to the owner, who unfortunately responded by lashing out at me, accusing me of making baseless claims, and dismissing my concerns by saying it's a common issue with these vehicles. However, this problem only arose after their work on my car. Now, I am faced with the burden of legal fees and the cost of a new vehicle. This experience has been highly disappointing and stressful, and I cannot recommend Tire MD based on the service and treatment I received. read more

I have been taking my cars and trucks to this place since the business changed hands a while back. At least in the 5 last years, I have had a very good experience with this place. The owner Steve and John have been very good in communicating what the repair options are, and give me accurate level of effort and the price. I read some of the reviews left by other Yelpers. The price maybe a little on the high end for some repairs, but overall, I think their service rate is in line with other competent repair shops in the area. One thing that I do appreciate is that they list out all the possible things that I should pay attention to, but may not need to repair them right away. This gives me a time and budget to plan my spendings. I also appreciate that I almost never have to bring the vehicles back to have repairs done over. This saves time on my end, knowing that it will get done properly the first time around. I recently had my exhaust manifolds on both sides of the engine replaced on my Ram 1500 truck. It is a 13 year truck that needs a lot of work, but it is already fully paid for. I am not about to pay $40K on a new truck. It was a well known defect that needed to be taken care of. Not right away, but when I had the money to do a $1100 repair. I drove it with the issue for 6 months before I brought it because they told me that it is fine and not effect any safety issues. They told me what it would cost and the level of effort. It is a repair that I am not willing to do it myself because of complexity and the time required. I also do not have special tools to perform this type of repair. Most people may not realize how valuable this is. Without their knowledge and forward looking diagnostics and planning, you may be stuck with surprises. Its like your own health. If you treat one symptom when you visit your doctor, and not look at the whole health picture, you maybe back for other issues. No one is perfect and cannot predict what a 10 year vehicles will do, but at least you can anticipate what may happen. Taking into account of the whole picture is important. Car repair shops get bad reps for price gauging and dishonesty. I do not feel that way about this place. I always have an option of turning down the recommended services, but it is nice to know that they have my safety and comfort in mind. They also know that I am on budget and cannot pay for the repairs at once. They are reasonable and have worked with me on budget and timing. If something goes wrong with the parts or repair, they warranty the work and will perform the work for no additional charge, obviously. They have also told me to save money by not repairing something or defer it until later. These folks are not out there to get you. They know that having a successful car repair business depends on upholding their integrity and quality workmanship. read more

Fast friendly honest. They mounted my new tires and could not get the new Michelin tires to balance perfectly. Instead of just sending me down the road they were proactive and ordered new tires. Fairly certain 9 out of 10 would not have this integrity. read more

Since moving to Bristol, I have had multiple issues with my cars. And, I can not quite place how I feel about Tire MD yet. Every time I have been there I have been satisfied with the quality of service and the customer service seems to be great. I was slightly disgruntled by the use of OEM parts and when I suggest not using them they seemed less than happy by it. The main issue is I feel that they are always finding an issue with your car. And this is either 1. great because they are keeping you informed or 2. trying to get you to come back so they can milk you for more money. The reason I have this concern was because when I asked a representative whether or not a suggested fix was completely necessary he said it was completely necessary and should happen immediately. When I asked a friend who owns his own shop (not in the region) whether this was correct he said the opposite. Yes, I should get it fixed, but the immediacy was not warranted. Like I said, I would go to this place, but you really have to know your stuff. My final though is that this place is great if you have a lot of money and don't care how much it costs or how often they fix your car. read more

So grateful for this place!! I replaced my tires here earlier this year and was happy with the quick and friendly service. Today I came in at 8am in a slight panic over a loud rattling noise that my car started making last night. They looked at it immediately, found the problem (loose strap), got me a coffee, and had me out of there in under 30 minutes - no charge. I made an appointment for today yesterday morning, the guy was really nice on the phone etc, told me he would get me right in for an inspection at 2:30-3:00. I switched my entire day around to make sure i get there, & right when i do they tell me that they are backed up & cant take me today. isn't the whole point of an appointment to be able to have a time slot reserved for the person that needed your time? now i am stuck without an inspection that i am in desperate need of. read more

I have been using Tire MD for a few years now but my latest trip there prompted me to write a 5-star review. After getting a flat tire, I called the next morning and they had a new tire on it by noon the same day! I was stunned at this quick of a turnaround. And because I purchased the tires from them, there was a discount on the new tire (paying based on the wear of the tread, a guarantee from the manufacturer which is why the manger said they use this brand). They have always been polite and very helpful and have always been able to provide fast service. I will continue to go back there because of this. read more

Tire MD is my new auto repair service station. I took my car in for a nail in my tire, which could not be repaired. However, they put on my spare and ordered me a new tire. Within 24 hours I had new tire installed and I was off on my merry way! I came in the first time to Tire MD because of a nail in my tire, which they were able to patch up to my relief for a reasonable price. Since then, I have come back for oil changes and other more significant repairs. I was relieved to find a place that was professional and would take the time to explain the repairs needed without talking down to me as I have had some other places do. Their prices have been very fair, and they were also great about explaining what repairs should be done as soon as possible and what repairs could wait, since I have an older car. After my regular mechanic of 20 years closed his business, I didn't know who to trust and go to for my vehicle maintenance. I discovered Tire MD in Bristol, gave them a call, and was pleasantly surprised right from the start. The staff is respectful and takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why. Steve remembers me from previous appointments - I am not a "number" in his system. It is so convenient that I receive regular emails reminding me of my next appointment and what the scheduled checks are that should be done to keep my extended warranty in place. I can give those records to my dealer when needed to show that I am maintaining the vehicle without having to drive all the way to the dealership. They give me rides to work or home if needed while my vehicle is being serviced. Their prices are extremely fair and reasonable.
