Very helpful. In a rental and one of the tires has a leak. Tried to go to the gas station across the street but the machine didn't work. Stopped here and the gentleman managing intakes greeted me, welcomes me to have a seat while he finished providing service for his current customer. Overheard him provide a clear explanation for the repair service for the person before me. He was pleasant and provided realistic expectations. When it was my turn, I explained about the tire. He had a technician come out to the car and check the pressure for ALL the tires and give them a quick glance for FREE! This town has had such hardship over the last year. Brought my car in to have a leaky tire looked at. They seemed to be slammed with lots of cars on the hoists, in the parking lot, some people in the waiting room. Thought I was going to be there for hours and probably have to buy a new tire, maybe 2. But after less than hour in the waiting room (entertained by the owners' puppy, a brilliant idea for any business with a busy waiting room), Juan tossed me the keys and said the car was ready to go. They were able to patch the tire and clean up the goo that had been injected when I used the tire repair kit (no spare tire for my car). Very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The worst customer service I have ever gotten there. Used to get everything done there when I lived in Lahaina but that was years ago. Everything has changed. When we called Gabriel was really nice, when we got there he said he doesn't remember talking to us. My husband was explaining what he thought was the problem then he said he won't help us because my husband knows what is wrong, but we can come back tomorrow. I have never been here until my recent visit. I called Gabriel and asked if I should make an appointment, he asked when I would be coming and said I wouldn't need to schedule. I went in, he looked at my tires and said I wouldn't need to buy all 4 just the front two. He went over 3 options of tires with pricing, explained each and told me how many miles to expect from each one. I said I was thinking the middle option would be best and he agreed. He ordered the tires, called me as soon as they were in and I went back the next morning. I was out in 45 minutes and everything was smooth, and I loved that he explained everything to me. I have had these guys work on my vehicles several times. Every time I took it in what they were supposed to fix was not fixed and something else was broken. If you are going there just to have your tires rotated, I'm sure they're fine but the mechanics there are horrible and their pricing is ridiculous. I would never recommend this to anyone. Similar to another reviewer, I had a low tire that needed air. I believe it was the owner or manager who greeted us with such aloha even though we could see that he was very busy. He had one of his very polite technicians fill the tire for us and wouldn't take any payment. It's such a wonderful surprise when you're treated with such kindness. I rang to make an appointment to get a wheel/tire fixed, and Gabriel told me to bring my car into the Lahaina branch. I informed him that my tire was noisy and vibrated. I had determined that it was either the rim or the tire by changing it from the back to the front noting the noise and vibration changed position. I have worked with cars for more that 50 Years and I was just trying to make it easy for them. He suggested that it might be a wheel bearing! I told him that they had been recently renewed, obviously trying to scam more money, thinking I was ignorant about car repairs. He then said he would not do the car and gave the keys back! My first experience with them because I had a "nail" in my tire. Called ahead to find out how fast they could do it. When I got there Shande (I think that was her name) took a look at the tire and told us, could be fix and no problem. She said the two people who booked appointments didn't show up so they could do my tire right now... Took all but 30 minutes like she said and only cost $33 and some change... Wooohoooo! I have used this Lahaina facility before and I understand prices go up. I was quoted 180.00 for 2 front tires mount, balance and front end alignment. I called day before to confirm the appointment and was then quoted 249.00. I said this is not what I was quoted. I was told that is what the employee put in system. Second guessing my quote I guess. This is bait and switch and not ethical practices. I then informed them that the call I made was on a recorded line and was told that is the rate. Options are limited for car care in Maui but this shouldn't be a stop for anyone. Originally we stopped into the Tire Warehouse to get new tires for our car because they were worn down to the wires. The tech recommended we get new tires, tire alignment, and balancing to ensure the longest life out of our tires... Not even a year later our car started having vibrations. Thinking perhaps one of the tires was just out of balance we took the car back in to be checked. They informed us that all 4 tires were shot and needed to be replaced. Not only that but with our car not being in the original manufacturers condition they couldn't properly do alignment and if we got new tires they too would wear and be destroyed quickly. They quickly recommended a long list of replacements and fixes. We needed new tires(although they should have lasted a couple years at least), we needed our car modified back to manufacturer settings, and we needed new brakes, struts, and springs. Now I admit we did need new breaks, but outside of that none of this should of happened. The tires were barely a year old and we drive a max of 4 miles a day. They did the alignment and balancing for the tires and didn't warn us that it would wear in our cars current condition. They also didn't even balance the tires the first time so we had to return and have it redone. All very costly as our tires aren't cheap. The icing on the cake and the number one reason I recommend dodging this company is the fact that both times our car has been in their shop my battery has died. The first time they did tires for us our battery died and our car wouldn't start. So we replaced the battery with a new one and all was good. This time around(less than a year later, and our battery is still under warranty) we show up and have our car looked at and again the battery dies. Only this time the battery is new. On top of that there is an electrical malfunction. My dash won't light up and the radio won't work unless I punch the gas. This is an issue that didn't exist before seeing them at their shop. When I called to ask about our battery and why it's not working they recommended I come in and get my electrical system evaluated. All around I have left dissatisfied each time. My car has left with something else wrong each time. I haven't even mentioned the troubles I've had with simple oil changes. I understand they get busy and they often are staffed on a minimal basis but truly if you can't get the job right don't do it at all. Save yourself the hassle and issue and skip on tire warehouse. read more

Writing this review so others can be informed- A few weeks back I came into Lahaina Tire Warehouse after visiting their Kahului location because that location was understaffed- I traveled the distance because I heard this was a trust worthy company; So when I was quoted $1160 for back brakes and a master cylinder that FORTUNATELY I was unable to afford at the time, I decided to wait until I could save up. For a month I had to find rides and use other people's cars because I was informed my car was extremely dangerous to be driving due to my back brakes completely gone... long story short, two days ago I took my car literally ACROSS the street and they cleaned up my wheels to find new brake pads! The only thing wrong with the brakes was the wheel cylinders having a leak in it, costing $15 a piece with $90 in labor totaling $127!!! I'm a little unenthused definitely unimpressed with the honesty and work ethic of this company, $1160 vs $127.... idk about you guys but before going with a quote from Tire Warehouse, I suggest you look into second opinions! When I called management she said she's confident in her mechanics judgement. In my 38 years of life, I have been to my fair share of mechanics. I want to let everyone know that lahaina tires warehouse is the most honest and helpful repair shop I have ever been to. Today was a reminder of why I have been going back to them over the past 2 1/2 years. I need my car to last at least one more year. I went in with a list of about ten car issues. Instead of trying to get me to get any of those repairs done, they explained that due to an oil leak, my best bet is to check the oil monthly and add oil as needed and forget about the other issues and just drive it until it does not drive any more. These guys easily could have tried to convince me I needed to get at least a few of those repairs done, especially the oil leak. However, at over 250,000 miles, it does not make sense to put much more into this car. They also could have been like other places that complete a bunch of repairs before identifying a major issue to where a person would have never done the other repairs if had known about the big one. To top it off, not only were they all honest, but also friendly and knowledge in response to all questions I had. They also reassured me that my car should last at least another year, regardless of the many issues it has, as long as I make sure there is always oil in my car. Anyways, people are always posting issues they have with places and people so I wanted to make sure to post about one of the excellent places we have here on Maui. If anyone ever needs a repair done, I would not hesitate a second before giving my strong recommendation to have lahaina tires warehouse take care of you and your car. read more

I have one of the most common cars on Maui... but it is what it is. The worst part, however, is they said they'd call around to find the tires and call me back once they found them. I was treated very fairly by Tires Warehouse in both Wailuku and Lahaina. Having spent $600 to replace the tires on my new Toyota Camry it was only 3 weeks later when driving through Ulupalakua that I was on the side of the road with a flat tire. Initially I was disappointed and felt that this was my fault for not getting a better set of tires. Having fitted a spare and returning home to Lahaina I visited their sister location here on the West Side. I was certain that the tire had failed and was hoping to get a replacement on warranty. The store manager was there to see me in minutes and showed me where on the tire I had struck some kind of road hazard. So, starting this off from 2 years ago when I first arrived on Maui. I brought my vehicle here for an oil change because of the convenience of their location. The lady behind the desk sold me on an oil change and tire rotation for $100. I thought it was a bit high, but hey, this was Hawaii right? So after waiting over an hour and a half they come to me and tell me they can't get my tires off the vehicle because they don't have a thin walled socket to remove the lugs. I thought this to be odd as I have rotated them several times myself and never had a problem. They still insisted on charging me the full amount even though they never rotated my tires. I was a little aggravated but just took it as a lesson learned. I will never bring my vehicle back here again I said. I've never been much for bad reviews, being in the service industry, I never put much thought into someone who had one bad visit and left a scathing review potentially hurting someone's livelihood in the process. I just took it as a lesson learned. Fast forward to now. I am moving back to the mainland and needed to put my spare tire back on my vehicle for shipping. Unfortunately the bolt had rusted up and I couldn't break it free. I stopped by to see if they would put an air wrench on it to break it free. That's all. I would have gladly paid $20 just to get the bolt off. I walk in to two ladies talking behind the counter and they asked how they could help me. I told them what was going on and asked if they could just see if they can get the one bolt off the back of my vehicle. She said it was impossible, they were booked up and she wanted to set up an appointment for a later date. (Mind you this is one single bolt, on the back of my vehicle that they wouldn't even have to put on the lift). I said, are you sure? This will only take 2 minutes. She very condescendingly said, "it will take 2 minutes to pull it in the garage". I just laughed and said I will take it somewhere else. I walk out and as I'm getting in my vehicle this lady walks out of the store, walked behind my car and writes down my license plate. Seriously? I don't know her intentions or why she wants that. Maybe it's so they can refuse service to me in the future. If that's the case you have no worries there. This place has no Aloha. This is no way to do business. read more

Called to price tires, derick took my call and helped me out with that! He was very patient and helpful. I bought 2 tires at a great price, had it changed and balanced. He even reminded me that my safety check will expire at the end of the month and offered to renew it! Since i didn't have my insurance card on me (oops), I called my insurance co. had it emailed to me then I emailed it to dericks email! He didnt have to do that!! Such great service! I've gotten in the habit of checking the fluids on my vehicles after an oil change mostly because I have had technicians overfill the oil in some cases by more than a quart. I paid extra for a tire rotation. I'm grateful that they found a missing lug nut and replaced it. I was disappointed that they didn't fill the coolant reservoir which was completely empty. This was part of the service. The manager said he would have the tech. recheck it. It clearly hadn't been checked and I said so. He said he didn't want to argue about it and would have the tech. recheck it. If he did check it he chose to leave it empty. I really hope this wasn't the case. In any case they missed something that was important and very basic. There was no apology or explanation given. read more

I had an oil change at Tire Warehouse in Lahaina today. The manager was rude and offensive. She ripped the receipt from my hands after I signed it and was writing about my upset with my treatment. She closed by saying "from now on, you can get your service somewhere else". When I brought in my car, I told the lady I had a coupon and asked if she wanted to see it. She said no, present it when you pick up your car. When I picked up my car, another lady, the Manager, said my coupon was Tire Warehouse but was not honored in Hawaii. She said AAA was. I told her I had made my choice of services based on coupon. She said the lady that said to present coupon on check out was having a bad day and had gone home. I said I would take AAA discount, she said that was no longer valid, I asked about Senior Discount & she said no. WOW! What an attitude! On Columbus Day, this was the only place that would answer the phone and do business with me. Friendly and professional on the phone. Will follow up on the service! I got in at my scheduled appointment time and was out in an hour (oil change, safety inspection and check tranny). They advised against doing the diagnostic test as the very intermittent problem needed to be occurring during the diagnostics. They also did not change the transmission fluid as there is a leak they couldn't find because of the grime. They suggested I have it steamed cleaned (the only place on the island that does this is Joe's Upholstery on Dairy Rd in Kahului) then bring it back so they can find and fix the leak. Whenever an autoshop suggests NOT to do something they can charge a fee for I deem them to be good and reliable. I'll definitely be going back here for more auto work when needed! read more

I took my car in for a basic check-up (hoses, belts, tires) and after I got my car back, the air conditioner did not work. I called them and they told me to bring it in to look at so I did. They quoted me $1200 to fix the air conditioner and gave no further explanation of what caused it to stop working. It was working fine for the past five years, and all of a sudden it stops working after I bring it to their shop? I do not trust this place at all. Yes the Owner is very Grumpy and the younger mechanic's also have a very BAD attitude and staring problem. I went in for a oil change and they told me one of my tires had been slashed and that i would need two more tires! Then they also checked my battery. They wanted $900 for new tires and another $250 for a new battery! My Battery was starting my car just fine when i came in the place and when I was to leave my car wouldn't start! They drained the battery on the testing machine and then tried to sell me a new one! Unbelievable! Worst place to go in my experience. read more
