I went in for a simple tire plug because I only had a nail in my tire. The guy working on my car removed the tire from the rim for god knows why when it clearly wasn't necessary. Then he told me I needed a new tire. Before I arrived, there was no visible damage or slash on the tire at all. After all that, he demanded payment and had a hostile, nasty attitude when I questioned him. It feels like the tire might have been damaged while in their care. Went here to get two rear tires changed on my car. The mechanic used a pneumatic Air Mag impact wrench to take off my wheels which is fine, but I watched in amazement as he started to put on my LH rear wheel with the same pneumatic tool. I figured he knew what he was doing, but sure enough he stops and says "one is no good", and hands me a stripped nut. He assured me that its fine because its only one and started on my other wheel. I stood over him as he did the rear RH one and asked him if he could use a regular torque hand wrench instead, but he told me that was all he had and pointed to the Air Mag. I drove right to the auto parts store to buy more lug nuts and found that he actually stripped 3. Two of the other nuts had already come loose on the short drive there. Glad he didn't screw up the studs or else I would have been looking at spending more than just $20 on new lug nuts. read more

The tire shop is located two blocks from my apartment. I came in late Thursday night to have my two tires patched or plugged. Stay away from the Mexican guy with the ponytail who tried to hustle me into buying new tires. Both of my left-hand tires are slowly leaking. He informed me that the left rear tire was worn out and that I would need a new tire, which would cost $165. I told him I'd think about it and get back to him in a couple of days. He performed a water test on the front left tire and informed me that I needed a new tire. I told him to do the plug job, but he said he doesn't do that. lol He then tried to charge me diagnostic labor $10 for putting back the tires. There was no real work and I told him to call the cop on me. I let him know this is a civil manner so he can take me to court for an unpaid $10 diagnostic job. He was having trouble with a tire because we're in the fall and the changes in pressure kept setting off his 'tire pressure alarm'. I drove by this place a lot so decided to come in one day for a tire change. I already bought a brand new tire on Amazon and I had the wheel off the car already (I was on my set of winter tires.) It was only $15 bucks to get the tire installed onto the wheel. The guy even checked to see if the directional arrow was pointing the right way. This business is good for minor patch up work but overall they employ shady practices. You can pay for some work with a card, for some only with cash with no receipt - which means they do not pay all the taxes to the city and state. When you need to replace the tires, they have a very limited stock and overcharge for no name tires, takes an effort to get receipt (if you pay cash) and no mention of any warranty. I had a small screw in my tire, The screw was not anywhere near the sidewall (closer to the center) and did not fall in the groove, but on the block itself. In my experience with these sort of issues, and with other shops in this area, this is the kind of work a plug can take care of. I was not aware that the technician would be patching. That required me to get the tire re-balanced. Fine either way. My main issue is that I suspect this shop of committing Credit Card fraud!! Shortly after using my CC to pay this shop, my card was hit with fraud. This is not a card I use regularly, and definitely not one used online. In fact, I had not used this card in weeks prior. I had to get my card replaced as a result. Buyer beware. I give 2 stars because the patch has held up fine. read more

Fine for a patch job. They are open 24 hours, and the mechanic is fast. Tire repair is what this place is good for; I think cabbies and cops come by. But for tire replacement, these guys are ripoff artists. Offered me three cheap to mid brands, and priced all of them within two bucks of $100, per tire, for four tires. Cash only of course. What? New tires are stored offsite, so any repair with new tires takes over two hours (guy will claim 90 minutes tops). Finally . . . the used tires here are USED. I had plenty of time to look around. These are highly worn out tires being sold, most of them over four years old (you can tell by a four digit code on the sidewall. "0206" means it was made second week in 2006). I saw many from 2006. That's older than the ones I was getting taken off (which I am sure they are going to try to sell back to you). read more

Went to have tires rotated and after waiting 30 minutes, worker claimed that the owner would not allow them to rotate tires if they appear a little worn. I was not doing an inspection, therefore, policing a tire rotation smells like a sale tactic to sell their stale crappy worn tires. With the down turn in the economy they should be lucky to have someone's business. Serving the community is want they do not appear to be doing. THEY SUCK BIG TIME FOR PULLING THAT GARBAGE. BEWARE! stay away. Got quote to take my TPMS from factory rims to new ones. Was told one price but charged more when I took it to him days later. Specifically asked if any other charges apply during quote, he said no. Used tricky practices to add cost, (especially if you don't speak their language). Now the wheels are OFF balanced even though they came balanced from online site and they deliberately broke all the stem valves. Have to do it again. Must think everyone is stupid. While waiting another customer came and told them they put the wrong size (used) tire and feel unsafe. The manager said he didn't personally sell him the tire and the other guy is not there. Had a problem with my tiire and had AAA come out and put on the donut. Then went over to Papi's. It was a tossup between Great Bear and Papi's but my daughter said we always pass by Papi's lets give it a go. Went to the joint whick is now called Who's Papi which was always our question. Guys checked the damaged tire and proclaimed it unrepairable and then offerred aused but completely serviceable tire for $45! Tire was not worn and was in pretty good condition.They put tire on in jiff and off I go. Only 4 stars as couldnt pay with credit card and couldnt check other tires cause their hose was frozen. AVOID AT ALL COST!! I went in here to patch a small leak in my tire. My TPS was alerting, about every 7 days. I saw the worker take my tire in to the back and he was trying to find the leak. After about 10 minutes of him being unable to find the leak, I SAW him take a screwdriver and puncture the tire. He then calls me to the back, shows me 2 huge holes, and says I need a new tire. I refused, had him put on the tire and came back in the morning(Tire almost completely flat) to talk to management, which is a joke.
