I was getting my oil changed this morning and during the checks they noticed I had a low beam…read moreheadlight out and ask if I wanted it changed and noted it would not be a quick fix. I said OK and I searched YouTube University to see what it took. Well, 45 minutes, and 3 employees later it was done, and they kept me informed, and I watched, the entire time. They first tried from the top, and that required unbolting the ECM (engine control module) and moving it to the side, and putting your arm/hand in a 5" hole and trying to reach the plug/bulb assembly and turning it. After 2 of them had blood showing they took a different track. They raised my Jeep up on the lift and took off the passenger side front tire AND the inner fender well shield. There was another capped 5" hole in theshield, but they already knew how that worked. And YouTube said to remove the shield. Now they could reach the the plug/bulb assemble by reaching up and then turning their wrist 90 degrees and they could put their fingers on it. Since it had been in their for 6 years and 70,000 miles it was a little stuck, but they finally got it out. Then it took 2 tried to reinstall the new socket/bulb assembly, the first time it was not aligned correctly. Ine note - Engineering school should have classes where Engineers actually have to work on what they design, just saying. Jiffy Lube at 317 W North St, Kendallville, highly recommended.
