If I could give 0 stars I would. They did my oil like complete amateurs and did it incorrectly before I went on a cross country road trip in my 8 month old car. By the time I got to VA my car wouldn't go past 45MPH on the interstate and I had to pullover at a dealership who actually helped me. They told me I would've never made it to my destination before my car would've been fucked. Do not ever go here they have no clue what they are doing. I brought my car in for an inspection and for my wheel to be fixed. I picked my car up the next day and not only was my wheel was not fixed, but a new clanging sound began coming from the front of my car. I brought my car back so they could fix whatever they messed up in my car and came back to pick it up another day later. My car was STILL making the horrible noise that was NOT THERE before I brought my car into this tire plus. I am now taking my car to get looked at by someone else because the technician at tire plus told me that they do not know what is wrong with my car. Horrible customer service. I needed brake pads and made an appointment for a saturday afternoon. the email said it wasn't a guarantee but that they would call if there were any issues. I had my husband and kids drive seperate, showed up early to wait 15-20minutes while the employee complained how short staffed they were to another customer that was deciding what tires he wanted, ignoring the phone or just putting it on hold, to find out they don't even carry my brake pads. I was livid. In that 15-20minutes of him complaing, he could have picked up the phone and called me! He had the nerve to give me attitude and say well the email says it's not a guarantee. I went on line to the Tires Plus Website, provided my precise tire size, selected tire and scheduled installation. I was proved with a confirmation of the appointment and a discount coupon. When I arrived the next day for the appointment, I was told they did not have the tires in stock as the information was never passed on to the store. Shop manager quickly rescheduled. I took my car in for an inspection and saw an ad for an inexpensive oil change (approx $20-30). So I said, sure while I'm at it, u can change the oil. Well they refused to pass my car's inspection u less I got all kinds of upgrades (AND TIRES!!) and when I said I'll take it elsewhere, they reported the "failed inspection" to the state! (FYI- that's a total scumbag thing to do for mechanics.) on top of not inspecting my car, they charged me $60 for the oil change!!! I said, whoa, why did u do that? That was an add on if u inspected it. They said they did it anyway and my car needed "special" oil, which is why it was more expensive than the one that I thought I was getting!!! The manager told me I needed new engine mounts that would cost 4 hundred dollars. He then added I would then need an alignment that was another hundred dollars. This was a surprise and came out of nowhere since my SUV was only a couple years old and it was not having any problems. The manager in my opinion was acting very suspicious and very unconvincing, I sensed that he was just trying to make his monthly quota. I told the manager no thanks, and I took my SUV to a Toyota dealer. The mechanic at the Toyota dealer put the car on the lift and inspected the engine mounts and then test drove my SUV. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my engine mounts, in fact he said that on this particular model they rarely ever go bad. I feel sorry for gullible people who fall for these unnecessary repairs! Note: This happened several years ago and is the reason I never went back and the reason for this poor review. Unfortunately, this type of practice is not unique to TirePlus, it happens at many of these "chain" stores as well as all types of repairs shops. I will not go anywhere else. The staff in general is always very friendly, even when I have to call to get an asap. Last year I brought my 2001 Camry with 230k miles to Tires Plus for my annual inspection, as well as get new tires. I made an appointment to get the tires replaced and the inspection done in the same day. When I went to pick up my car later that afternoon, they let me know at the time I was picking it up that the inspectors on site that day left and my car was not able to be inspected, therefore I needed to make another appointment to bring my car back and get it inspected... A few days later I brought my car back in the morning (with a 9am appointment) to get my inspection done. I told them I needed the car back by 2pm to go to work. Around noon they called me and told me that I had an oil leak that needed to be repaired in order for me to pass inspection. I wish I was told that when I had my car there previously during my first appointment...because I wouldn't have spent $500 on new tires in addition to the few hundred dollars I had to spend to fix this oil leak. Which I expressed to them when I brought my car in. SO, I needed my car by 2pm and it was not going to be completely worked on in the two hours. Therefore, I needed to make ANOTHER appointment to get my inspection done. At this point I was VERY annoyed and felt like my time and business was not being appreciated at this business. After my third appointment, I went to pick up my car and they ended up charging me over a hundred fifty dollars more than they quoted me. I can understand if it is $20-$40 dollars more than they initially quoted me, but $150?! At this point, I was NOT going to pay a cent more than what they quoted me due to the poor communication that they had with me. I ended up arguing with the manager over the phone because he had left for the day for a good 10 plus minutes to express how incredibly frustrated I was with this poor experience and that I would never come back here again. After a few minutes of back and forth, he agreed to charge me the price that I was initially quoted which I felt was already very over priced. I do appreciate that he understood my level of frustration due to the lack of communication. I do give him credit and thank him for that. Overall, I felt like I was being taken advantage of and was not being offered good nor honest service. I am a young woman in my 20's and felt completely taken advantage of and manipulated into coming back for 3 appointments. I learned my lesson and I will NEVER return here as a customer and suggest that you go elsewhere to have your vehicle serviced. I would give them zero stars if that was an option. read more

I would like to give this place zero stars... I had just moved to the area and found a bolt was sticking out of my tire. So I stopped in, figuring they could pull it out and patch it. However, they told me they were too busy and I would need to schedule an appointment for later that day - so I did. Even with my appointment, it took THREE AND A HALF HOURS. Whenever I've stopped at a gas station for a tire repair, the whole process usually took about 20 minutes - most of the time was trying to locate the leak, but in this case - there was a GIANT BOLT. It didn't require any detective work and I can't understand what took so long. Maybe they had other repairs to finish, but I would think since 1) I had an appointment and 2) I was physically waiting there - that they could have finished up my quick job. At the end, I was billed almost $30 for a "patch." It has since started leaking... During my unpleasant wait with a three year old that was burning up with a fever (my luck kid gets sick while car is sitting in the back) - and most of the time the shop was empty. Sporadically people would come in to pick up their cars, many getting angry and complaining about the price! read more

I can't speak to their prices or paid services, but I do want to put in a good word for the integrity of the manager, Rob. When my car wouldn't start after work, I started walking till I found the nearest auto shop, which turned out to be Tires Plus. I told Rob I thought my problem had something to do with oil (the little oil can light came on when I unsuccessfully tried to start my car). Though he expressed doubt that oil was the issue, Rob went into the back of the shop, filled a spare container with oil, and handed it over to me free of charge, along with paper towels. He even used a picture of an engine to show me where to put the oil in (it's the compartment with the cap that says "ENGINE OIL"... retrospective "duh" moment). Of course, when I got back to my car it turned out oil wasn't the problem (corroded battery terminals were the culprit), but I'm still grateful to Tires Plus for helping me out. And hey, I got a free thing of oil out of it. Thanks, Rob! P.S. Pro tip: if your car won't start and there's blue crud coming out of the battery terminal... that's probably why. read more

They then screwed the job up so bad that I had to come and get my car, order the tire myself which they confirmed 3 times that they had, and then reschedule another appointment at a different garage. NEVER GO TO TIRES PLUS IN WEST CHESTER. Got tires and inspection. I live an hour away and stay in West Chester weekends. Said they'd run out of inspection stickers, come back. Came back following Saturday for the stickers and they wanted to re-inspect the car. Ok, do it. Hour later was told emissions machine "was down", come back. Went back third time and nobody believed me that it had been now "inspected" twice. Said they needed to inspect again to only "PUT THE STICKERS ON". Made an ass out of myself to no avail. An hour later, I had stickers. Apparently nobody knows what anyone else is doing in the store. The "come back for inspection" is a very old trick to nickel and dime you, so beware of these clowns. I will try my best to burn them at the Better Business Bureau. read more

Last month, I took my car to this Tires Plus to have all four tires changed on my car and had an unsatisfactory experience. While the staff was helpful and knowledgeable (they honestly and correctly identified some legitimate issues with my car that needed fixed), it was unorganized business practices, presenting an appearance of dishonesty, which results in my one star rating. After the initial installation and driving back to work, I discovered that only three of the tires on my car were of the model which I ordered and which were on my receipt. One tire was an older, cheaper model from the same manufacturer. I called the manager and he admitted it as a mistake in inventory and asked me to return so they could install the correct tire. When I arrived, Tires Plus told me that there was again another mistake and they did not have a fourth tire in the model which they had sold me. This was a huge red flag for me, indicating that they likely sold me four tires which they knew they didn't have, hoping to clear inventory of an older model. While not provable, it seems they were hoping I wouldn't notice. Thankfully, once I brought the issue to their attention, they promptly acquired another tire that day from a nearby store. While my experience ended well, with four tires correctly installed, balanced and mounted, the process to get there was an inconvenience and built distrust. I can not recommend this location to friends. read more

My vehicle needed its state inspection. I knew a front headlight bulb was out so I provided approval to fix that when dropping off. I received a call back later saying that the bulb had been replaced ($65 for a $30 bulb, which was frustrating to hear as I've replaced headlights myself but just thought I would have it done at Tires Plus during my inspection for the convenience) and that the rear breaks had failed inspection. Altogether between the bulb, *entire* drum brake replacement, labor, and inspection the cost would be $700+. I asked to call back. Spent a few minutes looking up information about drum brakes online and called back to ask what exactly failed. After a fair amount of what I would consider "hemming and hawing" (the staff member was friendly but took time to explain to me that the reason the brakes failed was because the "numbers came in too low" -- I may now know anything about cars but I understand that with an inspection there's a standard measurement that needs to be met and if it's not the item does not pass), I asked if in fact the drums, shoes, and lines all needed to be replaced/flushed. Finally I was told that only the shoes actually needed to be replaced to pass inspection -- a much more cost efficient solution to the situation at approximately $300. While the service was good and the staff friendly, I will never return to this location. It's difficult to not attribute this type of customer service to being sized up as a "young, dumb woman" who they thought would simply say "yes" to whatever fix they said needed to happen. As I mentioned previously, I know absolutely nothing about cars but I do have a friendly tool we affectionately refer to as "the Internet" that proves useful time after time in making sure I'm not being taken advantage of. My family and I have been going to this Tires Plus for a few years since we moved to the area. Total of 5 cars with 3 being 100K+ miles. Mine being one of those high mileage cars, so needless to say, I've used this Tires Plus quite a bit. My father and I (who is an aviation mechanic) trusted the manager (Rob). Unfortunately, they have a new manager who is incredibly sleazy. My father and my sister both had suddenly really poor experiences. I'll just share my bad experience to save time. I took my car in for my annual inspection not knowing they were under new management. I asked who apparently was the new manager (tall, bald, big glasses) where Rob was and he starred at me and said, "Who's Rob?". Ok, already not getting a good vibe from the newbie. Didn't want to press it since I had somewhere to be. I received a call back from this guy saying my rear brake cylinder was leaking. My sister had the same "need" just a few weeks prior so my radar went up. I told them to put it back together and I'll pick it up. We have a family member who works in a mechanic shop a little too far north to see on a regular basis but close enough to drive to for a second opinion when I'm feeling cheated. We took the drum off, looked at the tiny cylinder boot and without hesitation he immediately recognized that they had removed the boot (no damage to boot) thus causing the leak that this guy told me he would show me in their shop. We did the work on the spot. I paid a fourth of the part cost Tires Plus was quoting and overpaid my honest, respectable family mechanic for his time. We also had to balance and mount the tires since Tires Plus gave me my car back with a vibration at 55+ mph. Thanks a lot. I'm giving these guys 1 star from a previous rating of 5 because they went from an honest, hardworking service to a shop that takes advantage of people with no knowledge of their vehicles. Shop around. The current management thinks we're all stupid. My family has found a shop very close to this one that doesn't rely on tricks to pad their revenues and steal from you. Edit* I should add that I decided to replace the cylinder not because there was something mechanically wrong with it but because no other shop would pass it since it has hydraulic fluid all over it from moving the boot off (can be done with your fingers). read more

I had an appointment for state inspection for my car at Pep Boys up the street, when I arrived I was told I would have to wait 4 hours. I called tires plus and was told to bring it over the wait would be less then 2 hours because it as a busy Saturday for them. When I arrived, I was treated with excellent customer service, they took my car in and did the inspection and I was out the door within an hour. Inspection cost was $39.99 all included. Can you say CROOOOKED MECHANICS! I sent my wife (WOMEN) in for an inspection and this is what they said the car NEEDED to pass inspection: I declined the repairs and this is what I found (among other little things I didn't even mention here). Needed to replace a ball joint (most don't even know what that is) for $700. I had the car home and checked the ball joint myself and it was fine. Another shop actually performed the same inspection that week and passed it AS IS. Also, the ball joints are $35 at parts store and it takes an hour of labor to install (as per book). Shoud have been less than $200. One brake drum must be replaced. I looked at the written inspection report and the current drums were 0.001" off the spec. I don't believe these clowns have a properly calibrated or technical knowledge to measure brake drums down to thousandth of an inch. I ended up replacing both drums and new pads for the cost of one drum at this crooked shop. One tire needed to be replaced to pass inspection. I verified before and after I got the car back from the shop. The tread on the tires were over the wear indicator marks and should not have needed tires to pass. In addition, I had oil change and wheels balanced. Guess what, this allmighty shop charged me for the wheel balance and never performed the balancing. I believe this shop is out to scam valnerable people into spending thousands of dollors for unnecessary work! I would AVOID IT LIKE A PLAGUE! read more

I went to Tires Plus due to a check engine light coming on in my car. They claimed to fix it and charged me upwards of $500. Less than two days later, my check engine light was back on and now, my car was stalling as well. I took it back in, assuming they'd done something incorrectly. When they did a diagnostic test on my car, they found that it was a "different" problem. However a quick google search found that it was a problem within the same system. Representatives there did not want to own up and admit they made a mistake and tried to charge me another $700 for a new part and labor to replace it. Only after I raised Hell did the service manager agree to fix my car for real this time and with no additional charge. It took them all of that day and much of the next, but this time they claimed it was truly fixed. I left there a semi-satisfied customer, despite the frustration and stress this had caused me as I have no other way to get around and had had to miss a day of work to get my car fixed. However, now a month has passed and my check engine light is back on. I took my car to Meineke and they informed me that it was the same part that Tires Plus claimed they fixed. Amazing! I have never been so frustrated in my life. The entire time I felt that staff at tires plus thought they could pull one over on me. When I took my car in for an inspection, they told me my car did not pass the emmissions test & wanted to replace my intact & unrusted mufflers. They also wanted to replace my front control arms all to the tune of $2,000. I happen to be mechanically inclined, so I put the car on jack stands and inspected the control arms - they were absolutly fine. I also looked up what the parts cost they wanted to use & found that they we're looking to markup the parts by 400%.
