He didn't even ask if I wanted to go through with the service and stated that the AC has a leak and it will cost another $500 to fix the leak. The next day I had another AC company come out and they were able to fix the AC for under $100 and there wasn't even a leak. The repair guy stated that he put 7 pounds of freon in the unit when I found out my unit only takes 5 pounds. This company is a total rip off and never used them if you have the opportunity.

Michael and Chris came prepared with a 16' ladder for the fan. Long story short, after numerous tries to repair, the fan needed to be replaced. They left to do another job so I had time to get a new fan. They came back as promised and replaced the fan. It was tested several times before they left. The wiring for the guest room light switch needed to be installed. Michael knew what they needed to do right away and got it done. I did have an appt originally scheduled for last month and they had to call that morning to cancel as someone was sick. I understood, but I was unhappy as I was home that day. Considered an essential business, (thank God, we live in Florida where it's a sauna!!) they…read moreanswered my call for a checkup and an evaluation for cooling the garage. So happy they are open during the quarantine/covid-19. They were able to come sooner than I could accommodate, so we agreed on Thursday. Two guys came out, one was training the other to be on his own soon. It was an all day affair. One of my units checked out fine. The other one had some issues so they had to drain the Freon and check it out. I asked if they wouldn't mind cleaning up the squirrel skeleton under the unit. The young guy straight up said no! The older guy chuckled, grabbed my trash bag and went up and cleared it all out. So thankful! They were very considerate of my carpet etc. Protec installed my hot water heater which is why I called them for my AC needs. I figure, if they can do plumbing and AC, they can figure out how to cool my garage. As it turned out, I needed a separate appointment for evaluation for the air conditioning install. They are not allowed to tee off my existing unit into the garage. It's illegal. So I called and they said they could send someone out on Monday. The guy came and we talked about the options. We agreed on a new install and he was able to schedule me that week, Thursday. The team of three guys, the one who grabbed the squirrel carcass, and two other men came on Thursday and installed the unit. They were here all day, but as promised, they did it in one day. They had some issues with the wrong piping and had to redo it. They also made a small hole in the garage wall for the drainage pipe that didn't work out, so they have to come back and plug the hole. They also need to come back and cover the pipes. They didn't have everything for this custom project. The idea for the garage to be cooled is to take the edge of in the summer when I work out, not to cool It all the time. It works amazing. It has a remote control. A thermostat install would be an extra charge, but you could get it WiFi compatible and control it from your phone. Protec has an optional membership which can be tailored to your needs and is priced out depending on what you want and how many units you have. I joined. It includes 15% off plumbing and AC repairs. Hope I don't need to use that benefit. They're really good about calling and emailing. They will communicate both ways or whatever you prefer. Very professional. I would recommend them. You might get a better price with someone else, but you won't get the same warranty and guarantee.

During the maintenance, my attic air handler was never inspected. I was also charged in full for a proposed UV light installation and other work before it was performed. Because my AC issues remained unresolved, I canceled the installation and am currently disputing that charge with my credit card company. Since then, I have called, texted, and emailed the company requesting assistance and asking for an itemized invoice for the services performed on June 29. Despite my repeated attempts, I have received no response. As of today, I am still waiting. Good customer service doesn't end when payment is collected. At the very least, I expected follow-up. Unfortunately, my experience has been silence.

Experiencing Florida's ruthless heat, my A/C recently took a nose dive. Having a condo that uses a…read morenon-traditional chiller system makes it difficult to even find techs willing to help. Before calling Renaissance, other companies simply would not even come out. Upon calling, a knowledgable tech immediately answered. This was refreshing simply because there was no hold music nor a time wasting answering service. An appointment was conveniently scheduled within two hours. Given that I have a tenant in the condo, the tech was willing to text me half an hour before so we could rendezvous at the same time. This level of customer service is very much appreciated. The tech arrived on time in a professional manner. Turns out the tech is the owner. He is knowledgable and conducted an investigation explaining the process along the way. This was great given that my A/C is from an alien planet. He admitted he had only seen three other units like mine in his career but still plowed through troubleshooting the issue. The price was fair and expectations set appropriately. If the issue reoccurs, there is no trip charge to come back out (a fair and honest practice). Bottomline: Very satisfied with the service I received. Finding honest service can be difficult these days but there is one truth for certain, I will be a repeat customer!
