The food was really delicious, and the atmosphere was nice, definitely more of a sit-down restaurant than a taqueria. Since it is a wait-to-be-seated place, though, you are completely dependent on the servers, and unfortunately, the service was almost nonexistent or it would have earned an extra star or two. This seemed to be especially true the farther you were seated from the kitchen. We were essentially ignored throughout our entire meal since we were seated by a far wall. The only time we received service was when we made an extended, concerted effort to flag someone down. Since no one would even look in our direction, we repeatedly had to stand up and wave at staff whenever we needed something. They brought out our shared appetizer without any plates. We tried several times to get someone's attention but eventually gave up, so we ended up eating it without plates and getting elote all over the table. When our entrees arrived, no one acknowledged the mess or offered to wipe down the table. They simply set our food down on top of it and walked away before we could even ask for hot sauce. Once again, we tried to flag someone down but couldn't get anyone's attention. We finally gave up and started eating without the hot sauce because our food was getting cold. Eventually, I managed to get someone's attention, and they brought us hot sauce, but immediately walked away before we could ask for water. We actually had to stop eating again while trying to get someone's attention just so we could get water. The second time I needed a refill of my tiny 8-ounce glass, I finally got up, walked over to the waiter station, and asked for a carafe of water so I wouldn't have to get up yet again. The frustrating thing is that the food is genuinely very good. This restaurant simply seems to have no idea how to provide basic table service. That's a shame, because with decent service, it could be a great place. I might try it again someday to see if they've gotten their act together. read more

Ok. What even is this place? I saw it on some foodie TikTok video and decided I need to make my way over here... I had no idea, when pulling into a random strip mall type parking lot in north Portland, that I was in for one of the best meals yet. Don't let the unassuming storefront fool you. This place is a hands-down knock out taquito fest. When you walk in, you order at the counter and then there is ample space to wait for your rolled and fries plate of pure JOY to arrive at the window to pick up. For me, I am hardcore potato lover, and the fact that these taquitos are filled with potatoes, and then have the rest of the protein served on top makes these next level for me. All of the condiments are perfect, perfectly balanced, and make these some of the best taquitos, truly, that I have ever had. Finish it off with a delicious Mexican brownie, and then my advice is to go home at that point because your day has peaked and it's not getting any better unless you plan on coming back for dinner. read more

I went here with a group of 4 other friends and there was about a 40 minute wait but we were able to kill time walking around Multnomah Village. We really wanted to like this place more than we did, but the service was really slow (but friendly) and we were not there at a busy time of day. Between my husband and i we had mini Sopas, Shrimp taquitos, and fish tacos. The fish tacos were great; the fish was fresh, crispy and moist, and the taco shells were handmade and very flavorful, but perhaps a bit too thick. The Shrimp taquitos were sort of bland and dry but presented very nicely, they were filled with perhaps polenta that gave off a sort of cream of wheat vibe, and topped with grilled shrimp which could have been more flavorful and saucy. The mini Sopas were good and probably my favorite of the 3 dishes we shared. Overall i was impressed with the menu, several vegetarian choices were available. We wished they had different sauce choices as far as their salsa's are concerned. They offered a verde which was medium, and 2 others which were red and reportedly hotter to hottest. We will definitely try them again and probably make a more informed decision of what we think will be the most enjoyable for our tastes. Had a wonderful experience at Tito's for an early dinner. I loved that for the mini sopes I could have a different protein for each one so I was able to sample different meats. Don't let the name fool you - Tito's entire menu is spectacular. The food is fresh, inventive, crafted with care, presented beautifully, and a joy to eat. The staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is modern and bright. We grab lunch here a few times a month and look forward to it every time. Our usual order is the chorizo taquitos, chicken taquitos and of course, Pacificos. This place never fails to amaze. We went to the food truck and then to the N Portland lunch spot, and now this perfection in Multnomah Village. There was about a 40 minute wait (on a Friday, so expected), but there is a cute Bar next door to grab a drink. The hostess who sat us was friendly and informative. The waitress was very helpful, apparently yesterday was their grand OLCC opening (aka first day they could serve alcohol). The drinks took a little longer but it was a first day logistic thing and the waitress was very sweet about it. We got the Tamarindo ribs, Churritos, and the citrus pork taquitos. Churritos are fun to eat and a perfect initial bite. Ribs were spicy in the best way, and were a perfect starter to the taquitos that have lots of flavor but are not spicy. That was the perfect amount for two people, which is unfortunate because I really wanted dessert and just couldn't manage. I have had their tres leches at their other spots and it's amazing. I don't typically like tres leches but they do it SO WELL. Worth a try if you also don't typically go for tres leches. read more

We waited for over 40 minutes to get a table for dinner- there were 3 adults and 2 children. It seemed half the restaurant wasn't being seated- I'm not sure if it was due to a server or kitchen reason. Service was decent but the whole place had a mildly chaotic vibe to it that evening. We ordered the chips and guacamole, along with three of the house salsas (verde, arbol, and cuete habanero- each with a nice amount of heat that doesn't linger or burn) for the table. We split the sopes appetizer with Chicken, pork, chorizo (portion is small for each, maybe 3 bites to it). Good way to try the different meat options here. Then we split the Papasotes with chorizo (huge portion, good but wouldn't order again- maybe as a breakfast hash for home), Braised Beef Taquitos (huge portion, good flavor!) & Garbanzo Al Pastor Taquitos (huge portion, unique take on Al Pastor but very good!). We also tried the ribeye taco and that was pretty great with fried onions on it. I enjoyed a Jamaica Agua Fresca to drink, which I find you can never go wrong with. Overall would return. It definitely wasn't what I thought it would be and I'm not sure I'd wait the amount of time we did to go back but the food was good and I'd like to try other plates. read more

I had been really looking forward to eating here given all the fanfare by so many local food writers. Right before I wrote this review, I heard a guy behind me in line at a coffee shop waxing enthusiastic about it. So people seem to love it. I however did not. First off, The taquitos, the signature dish are really, really bland, even if you make sure to get your choice of toppings in the same bite. The vegetable salsa that comes in the topping was very nice when eaten by itself, fresh, vibrant, wonderful. However it couldn't compensate for the aggressive blandness of the dish and meat topping. The service, however was impeccable. Our server, was attentive without being overbearing and was pleasant. I'm going to come back and try the tacos, since people say nice things about them on reddit, but I'm not giving the taquitos another go. read more

This place 1000% deserves 5 stars! I'm visiting from LA, home of some of the best Mexican food, and Tito's is totally unique and SO yummy! The staff was warm and friendly, and the combination of flavors in every bite was chef's kiss. I usually modify when I order out, but I left everything as is and wow! My only gripe is that you can't mix and match taquitos, and I didn't want to commit to one kind of protein, so I didn't get to try them, but they're probably great for shares. I ordered the sopes - one shrimp, one pork, one beef - and a fish taco. The beef sope and fish taco were the winners for me, so fresh and tasty. So happy this place opened across from the Multnomah Arts Center! I've been in three times now. Service is super friendly and helpful. The dining room is nothing special but comfortable and roomy. The tacos here are fantastic! Considering what restaurants charge, the street tacos are a lot for the money. My son and I also split the shrimp ceviche and it was fresh and delicious. I love this place with more passion than I can reasonably express. I was heartbroken when the food cart (that was directly in front of my apartment complex) closed, so when they opened a location in Multnomah Village I was over the moon. They been open a month or so and I think I've been five times. The citrus pork tacos are fundamental to my way of life. The chorizo is also extremely tasty. The aguachiles are a surprising flavor bomb that I would never have ordered if I didn't trust this place to be amazing, but I am endlessly glad that I did. Ceviche was rubbery and the accompanying chips were not fresh. The ribeye tacos that were ordered medium-rare were well-done cubes of meat. Overall I'd say it was just ok. The fit and finish of the restaurant is nice. Though the lack of any noise deadening in the industrial space made the dining room quite loud. The drinks were ok, not amazing. The food was also ok. The steak on the tacos was ordered medium well and it came out with red centers, not pink, red.
