We really wanted to like this place more than we did, but the service was really slow (but friendly) and we were not there at a busy time of day. Between my husband and i we had mini Sopas, Shrimp taquitos, and fish tacos. The fish tacos were great; the fish was fresh, crispy and moist, and the taco shells were handmade and very flavorful, but perhaps a bit too thick. The Shrimp taquitos were sort of bland and dry but presented very nicely, they were filled with perhaps polenta that gave off a sort of cream of wheat vibe, and topped with grilled shrimp which could have been more flavorful and saucy. The mini Sopas were good and probably my favorite of the 3 dishes we shared. Overall i was impressed with the menu, several vegetarian choices were available. We wished they had different sauce choices as far as their salsa's are concerned. They offered a verde which was medium, and 2 others which were red and reportedly hotter to hottest. We will definitely try them again and probably make a more informed decision of what we think will be the most enjoyable for our tastes. I'm very happy they are in the village and appear to be well liked and doing well. Oh, they do have a full bar and some fun specialty cocktails.

Had a wonderful experience at Tito's for an early dinner. I loved that for the mini sopes I could have a different protein for each one so I was able to sample different meats. The chorizo was very flavorful and not oily which is my desired style. Ceviche was large and filling. The taquitos did steal the show with their perfectly crisp shells.

Don't let the name fool you - Tito's entire menu is spectacular. The food is fresh, inventive, crafted with care, presented beautifully, and a joy to eat. The staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is modern and bright. We grab lunch here a few times a month and look forward to it every time. Our usual order is the chorizo taquitos, chicken taquitos and of course, Pacificos. Multnomah Village is lucky to have Tito's.

This place never fails to amaze. We went to the food truck and then to the N Portland lunch spot, and now this perfection in Multnomah Village. There was about a 40 minute wait (on a Friday, so expected), but there is a cute Bar next door to grab a drink. The hostess who sat us was friendly and informative. The waitress was very helpful, apparently yesterday was their grand OLCC opening (aka first day they could serve alcohol). The drinks took a little longer but it was a first day logistic thing and the waitress was very sweet about it. We got the Tamarindo ribs, Churritos, and the citrus pork taquitos. Churritos are fun to eat and a perfect initial bite. Ribs were spicy in the best way, and were a perfect starter to the taquitos that have lots of flavor but are not spicy. That was the perfect amount for two people, which is unfortunate because I really wanted dessert and just couldn't manage. I have had their tres leches at their other spots and it's amazing. I don't typically like tres leches but they do it SO WELL. Worth a try if you also don't typically go for tres leches.

Great food and decent prices for what they are serving. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered the ribs (which were amazing), pork taquitos, and 3 different sopes. Everything was really delicious and portions were very slightly larger than expected (usually for higher end dining you expect to get less food and pay more).

    Scrumptious Mexican brunch.

Very kind and prompt service and great food. I would recommend anyone visiting the village give them a try.

This place 1000% deserves 5 stars! I'm visiting from LA, home of some of the best Mexican food, and Tito's is totally unique and SO yummy! The staff was warm and friendly, and the combination of flavors in every bite was chef's kiss. I usually modify when I order out, but I left everything as is and wow! My only gripe is that you can't mix and match taquitos, and I didn't want to commit to one kind of protein, so I didn't get to try them, but they're probably great for shares. I ordered the sopes - one shrimp, one pork, one beef - and a fish taco. The beef sope and fish taco were the winners for me, so fresh and tasty. This is a true hidden gem of a place that I don't think will be hidden for long, so hurry on in!

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!

For the amount of food and the overall experience, I thought it was a great way to experience the restaurant. Ángel took care of us and made the meal even more memorable by telling us the story and inspiration behind each dish as it came out. It made the tasting feel like much more than just trying a bunch of different dishes. I'm definitely a carnivore and usually feel like a meal needs some kind of meat, but surprisingly, my favorite dish was the mole with eggplant and rice. The mole was delicious, and I genuinely didn't miss having meat on the plate. I would happily order that dish again exactly as it was. The tomates en salsa arabe were another standout. I really enjoyed how fresh the dish tasted, especially with the seasonal tomatoes they were using. I also had the carnitas tacos, which had great flavor and texture. For dessert, we had what was essentially a fried concha, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It had just the right amount of sweetness for me and was a great way to finish the meal. Overall, I highly recommend doing the full tasting menu at República. For around $40 per person, you get to experience the entire menu, and if you're lucky enough to have Ángel there to walk you through the stories and concepts behind the dishes, it makes the experience that much better.

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season. Service and ambiance is friendly and knowledgeable about the food and its origin - another reason I love dining here so I learn about what I'm eating and how it was inspired. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past. Now I'm watchful and ready to go back and see what the chef Angel is serving up. What else is so special is Republica was a James Beard award nominee too!
