We took a trip to try out Tiverton Bakeshop & it was exactly the kind of experience you hope for when you walk into a small neighborhood bakery. It was calm and quiet--such a change from the usual "large" coffee shop. The moment we stepped inside, the smell of fresh pastries was incredible. Then the fresh ground coffee hits you! Everything looked like it was made with LOVE. The pastries were flaky, rich, and full of real flavors, We tried a little sweet & savory! You can tell they focus on quality over quantity 100%. We got a little bit of everything. We tried the cinnamon roll, almond croissant, jalapeño, and cheese, sausage croissant, everything but the bagel croissant, pesto and goat cheese croissant, when they ask if you would like it warmed up... say yes! For beverages we tried raspberry Matcha latte, hot chocolate & other signature hot lattes. If you're looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy a really well-made pastry this place absolutely delivers. Cute little bakery. We came about a hour before closing on Saturday and they were pretty much cleaned out, which I wasn't surprised by. Would be nicer if they had longer hours on a Saturday, it is the only time I can make it out here. There is a church across the street, so probably explains what wiped them out! lol. We got a turtle and plain cheesecake and a sticky bun. Wasn't really fussed by the cheesecakes - they were bland. The sticky bun was nice, the topping was delicious - shame it wasn't served warm. Service is on the slow side, but you're in the country - they are in no rush. Would like to come back when they are fully stocked and enjoy a pastry with a coffee in their dining room. read more

I haven't been to the actual bakery (yet) but I did get a chance to try some of their baked goods at the Shadow Creek Pumpkin Patch. I will absolutely be visiting their bakery in Ovilla. After taking to the most pleasant man, I got quite a few of the apple caramel hand pies, the snickerdooodle cookie and a rice crispy treat that was cleverly decorated like a slice of pumpkin pie. The hand pie was lovely. It had a nice amount of cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. But didn't eat it immediately, so I can confirm that it heats nicely in the microwave. There was a good amount of apple compared to crust. I'm so glad I bought extra for my sister My son put his snickerdoodle in the microwave as well. He likes warm cookies and really enjoyed it. My husband and I first experienced Tiverton delicious baked goods when we had visited an amazing barbecue joint called Hurtado. I mean who can resist sweets after meaty salty bbq!? At the bbq joint we had the peanut butter chocolate cake slice and the Mexican hot chocolate pecan pie.... WOW!!!! It's hard to find a solid cake that is moist and spongey with plenty of flavor!! Plus it had Pb cups inside and on top of it and the best light and creamy PB frosting ever! The Mexican hot chocolate pecan pie was LEGIT!! NAILED the flavors even with that slight hit of spice!!! Wish we had an entire pie!!! We didn't know that they had a bakeshop so when we resisted Dallas we knew we had to make a stop to check out what other goodies they offer! They are THE CUTEST and hippest little bakery ever!!! It is a little house that is so inviting and adorable to hang out, eat some delish food and drink some coffee! We tried out their mini cheesecakes, savory breakfast sandwiches, chicken salad, cookies, sticky buns, cupcakes and kouign Amann. Side note their coffee is also too die for and is brewed especially for them! OMG.... Just as good as we expected based on our first experience! The cupcake, flavorful and moist, the cheesecake creamy, the kougin Amann with a crunchy sweet and salty flavor that was layered.... Seriously some of the best cookies we've had....and we're pretty particular on our cookies!! Chewy, slight crisp on outside, tons of flavor throughout! I called them back about a month later and called on three separate days (Only left one voicemail) and they never answered phones (one of the days ended up being a weekend) or called back to the voicemail. I'm obsessed with this place. The pastries are the absolute best, coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere is so cozy. The owner is super personable and treats everyone like a friend. Tiverton Bakeshop definitely exceeded my expectations today and I can't wait to go back for more. Ashley is so sweet and makes you feel like you just walked into her home to pick up some fresh goodies. This is a tiny, out of the way place in Ovilla, but my prediction is that it will be a huge success. From beginning to end, everything is the highest quality. We came for breakfast on Saturday morning, and shared a breakfast sandwich and a green chile quiche. Both were incredible. Nothing pre-processed or packaged here. It's all made by hand, and there is a demonstration table in one room, where you can apparently learn the art of baking. The quiche comes in small individual muffin sized servings, 3 to an order. The breakfast sandwich is served on a homemade brioche bun, and contains similar ingredients, but a less pronounced green chile flavor. The real star of the show is The Queen, an unbelievably tasty and light croissant in the shape of a muffin. I know I have spelled the name wrong, but the recipes and menu items are authentic European recipes, and this one has to have been developed for French royalty. It seems lighter than air, and amazingly tasty. Check out their hours and days open, and make your way to Ovilla. I promise, it will be worth it! read more
