I had a very disappointing experience with CarMax from start to finish…read more After purchasing my vehicle, I was told by the service department that it would be ready on a specific date. When that date arrived, the repairs were not completed, causing an unnecessary delay. Once the vehicle was finally ready, I was incorrectly told that I needed to obtain a physical check from my bank before taking delivery. My bank does not issue physical checks, which CarMax should have known. To make matters worse, I was given this information after the bank had already closed, creating another avoidable delay. Because the repairs could not be completed before I took possession of the vehicle, I was given documentation and told I had 30 days to have the remaining repairs completed at no cost to me. However, when I contacted the service department to schedule the repairs, I was told I would have to pay Tesla out of pocket for the parts and then seek reimbursement from CarMax afterward. That is not what I was told when I accepted delivery of the vehicle, and it is unacceptable for customers to receive conflicting information depending on who they speak with. On top of everything else, I was promised that $250 would be waived due to the delays in receiving my vehicle, but that never happened. The biggest issue throughout this experience has been the lack of communication and consistency. Different employees provided different information, commitments were not honored, and I was left to sort out problems that should have been handled by CarMax. Purchasing a vehicle should be an exciting experience, but instead it was frustrating, stressful, and unnecessarily complicated. I expected much better customer service and professionalism from a company of this size.

Previous damage on the car that was not disclosed to me. Passenger's side door was damaged severely…read moreand was independently repaired- not up to standard. Paint color on the passenger's side from the front to the quarter panel in the back is a different color from the rest of the car. Furthermore, on closer inspection at a body shop, there is a dent remaining and dirt in the paint scattered throughout the passenger's side. I contacted Carmax sales representative- Scott Snead and he told a service worker to tell me that the passenger's side including the dent and the dirt in the paint were up to CarMax's standards. Apparently, CarMax's "standards" are like having no standards at all. The passenger's rear tire was also leaking from its patch that CarMax had put on there so it's obvious now that damage occurred on the passenger's side that was undisclosed to me during the sale.

Worse experience ever... Traded in a 2012 Ford Edge Sport 2 YRS AGO for a 2015 Ford Explorer…read moreSport...Have had problems with the Explorer since I left the lot...It's 3 hrs from my home so bringing it back wasn't going to solve anything, just cost me more money... IE, defroster don't work, don't blow heat on the feet, sunroof won't open, "never been in a wreck", but has bodywork in "BOTH" rear fenders, O2 sensors are bad so check engine light is on, air bag light is on, remote start don't work...I can go on all day...And today, almost 2 yrs to the day, I receive a registered letter saying that "My EDGE (the vehicle I traded in)" has been towed and has been abandoned...A abandoned fee, a administration fee and a storage fee for every day it sits there...I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about this place...There should be laws in place that deal with dealerships that do this to people...

Worst experience. I bought a vehicle from here in April and I have had nothing but problems with it…read moresince I have purchased it. I was told the car was in good condition, I brought the car back several times to the dealer when the check engine light came on one day of driving it off the lot. The car shuts down at random while driving, the RPM's zero out, and the struts and springs are bad. Yet it has a new inspection sticker, I have only had this vehicle for four months and all these problems, but was promised the vehicle was in good condition.
