I don't know where to start. Reached out to VIP Auto and was greeted by Mallie. He's not a bad guy;…read morehowever, the vehicle I received was in horrible condition. I purchased a vehicle sight unseen and had a mobile pre-inspection done. I'll get to that later. If I had flown to VA, I would have saved myself the headache and the tens of thousands in negative equity. There were many scratches, dents, and touch-up paint all over the vehicle ($2,000). Cheap aftermarket AMG replica rims with snow tires ($3,500). Lower center chrome trim damaged ($250), driver headlight cracked. The interior was also in terrible shape. Cigarette burn in the headliner, missing rear console door ($185), overly discolored leather seats, rips in the leather, and if there is a clip to hold something together, it was either broken or missing. Two main clips that were broken and missing held the chrome strips on the door handles ($740), a car that is supposed to be quiet was filled with rattling noise when driving. After 3 months with the vehicle, the check engine light came on. Hooked it up to the computer; 3 cylinders are misfiring ($1,000 in parts, work done myself). The dealer wanted to charge $4,000. Rear window stopped working ($385). The mobile mechanic stated that the brakes were in excellent condition; however, they were as thin as a sheet of paper and squealed even when the transporter was backing the vehicle from the truck ($1,500). After five months, a significant leak occurred from one of the coolant reservoirs. I didn't know how much that cost because I had to sell the vehicle after having it for 6 months and driving less than 2k miles. My total was $46,560, and I sold it for $27,500 because it was in such poor condition. Almost $20k in negative equity makes me want to vomit! PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

He was such a laid back and helpful sales person, unlike some cars sales man who try to take advantage of people. Mr. Mallie had answered my email in a timely manner and scheduled my test drive within the same week. The staff their was so nice offering to valet my car or if I wanted something to drink like water or Gatorade. The lot had so many amazing brand cares with low mileage I was in disbelief. The 2009 BMW 335i I test drove was in great shape with only 72k miles on there. I loved my experience so much I bought the car the same day. Mr. Mallie made the process very smooth and I even had them do my tag and title! 10 out of 10 would recommend this dealership! Reasonable price and great service!!

I mention that I have already gone through one of these scams with Koons before, and will not waste more than 10 minutes. He tells me straight up to my face that I welcome to leave now. Biggest scamming sacks of living feces I have had the displeasure of ever talking to. As I left, they were attempting to take advantage of an elder African American woman in her 70s. Hope she took my advice and got the hell out of there. Koons is a terrible company, and this location in particular should be investigated by the law.

If I could give them a negative star, I would. Not only did they misrepresent their advertising,…read morebut they were also condescending in tone and assumed I was the customer instead of the woman who spoke to Dale on the phone. If you want to experience the worst car-buying experience, look no further than Koons Automotive of Fredericksburg. My friend was trying to sell a 2011 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, and the dealership had offered $4,000 over KBB (Kelley Blue Book) value. When she spoke to Dale earlier that day, he confirmed that the deal was legitimate. After driving over 40 miles during rush hour traffic, we arrived at a location that resembled a backyard auto auction, with a limited supply of vehicles. The salespeople reminded me of vultures, hovering and waiting to swoop in for their next prey. As we entered the building filled with loud music, the open spaces with makeshift folding tables and partitions gave off a shady vibe. Steven greeted us and kept insisting that he liked to "shoot straight," which is a classic red flag indicating the opposite. He claimed he was unaware of the $4,000 over KBB promotion, and after my insistence, he finally called Dale over. Dale instinctively approached me, seeming to imply that I was not the primary customer, and then acknowledged the deal he had mentioned on the phone. The issue was that he changed the terms of the deal, stating that the $4,000 over KBB only applied to cars traded in towards a purchase. This is a classic example of bait and switch, and I strongly advise anyone looking for a quality deal and trustworthy salesperson to beware.

I had a very disappointing experience with CarMax from start to finish…read more After purchasing my vehicle, I was told by the service department that it would be ready on a specific date. When that date arrived, the repairs were not completed, causing an unnecessary delay. Once the vehicle was finally ready, I was incorrectly told that I needed to obtain a physical check from my bank before taking delivery. My bank does not issue physical checks, which CarMax should have known. To make matters worse, I was given this information after the bank had already closed, creating another avoidable delay. Because the repairs could not be completed before I took possession of the vehicle, I was given documentation and told I had 30 days to have the remaining repairs completed at no cost to me. However, when I contacted the service department to schedule the repairs, I was told I would have to pay Tesla out of pocket for the parts and then seek reimbursement from CarMax afterward. That is not what I was told when I accepted delivery of the vehicle, and it is unacceptable for customers to receive conflicting information depending on who they speak with. On top of everything else, I was promised that $250 would be waived due to the delays in receiving my vehicle, but that never happened. The biggest issue throughout this experience has been the lack of communication and consistency. Different employees provided different information, commitments were not honored, and I was left to sort out problems that should have been handled by CarMax. Purchasing a vehicle should be an exciting experience, but instead it was frustrating, stressful, and unnecessarily complicated. I expected much better customer service and professionalism from a company of this size.

In September 2026, we had a terrible experience. The dealership presented a 2019 Kia Forte at a…read morevery good price on their website. The pictures showed the car was in good shape, including a working dash display, that is approximately 10 inches across. When we test drove the car, the computer display did not WORK. It was 100% black, no images trying to show through, truly a not working display. They sales rep said this is not a problem, they've ordered a new computer display for the car. The rep wanted us to buy the car, and then the would fix it, when we brought the car back for the repair. We asked, what if there is a problem in the wiring, that the display is not the issue? Would they fix that if the new display change-out didn't work? The dealership would not commit to guaranteeing they would fix the display issue, only that they would install a new display. (Very shady) TWO days before we made the 3-hour drive to look at the car, we talked with the sales rep. We asked, why is this car so cheap? He said they have many Forte's and they want to get rid of them. When there, the sales rep also told us they get 100 new cars every week, which was another lie. I find it very hard to believe this dealership has the capacity to prep 100 used purchases every week. And there were only a couple couple Forte's on the lot. On their website in the car description, it read that the car comes with a remote. When getting ready for the test drive, the sales rep provided us with one metal key, and said that's all they have. He said to unlock the car, you have to pop-off part of the door handle, and then unlock the car manually. We had to ask them to provide a remote, as they did not offer to provide one. Seriously, they wanted us to unlock the car manually forever... I'm guessing the piece of the door handle that you have to pop-off to get to the manual key hole, will likely become loose and fall off after a few weeks of being popped off regularly... ALSO, when they brought the car up for us to test drive, it was covered in thick dust. The sales rep told us they have a detail shop, and they didn't do a good job on it. They knew at least 1.5 days in advance we were coming. They could have washed the car. (It looked like the dealership has a drive through car-wash beside their garage in the back) During our negotiations, we asked if we could speak with the manager because of the display not working and not having a remote? The rep said he is in a meeting. But the rep kept going into the manager's office to talk with them about our situation. The manager NEVER came out to talk with us. He obviously didn't care if we felt like we were not having a good experience at their dealership. They tried to push us into another couple cars, but we quickly saw damage on the other cars from accidents that were not properly repaired. For example, in the front passenger wheel-well of an Altima, there was foil tape trying to seal the busted plastic wheel-well guard. On a Honda accord, the hood had a spotty / poor paint job, definitely not a manufacturer or professional paint job. Everything about this used car dealership was shady. They need new management that will push quality service and honesty. Be careful here. Maybe they have some good cars, but we had a terrible, untruthful, and non-customer friendly experience with them. *** I'm anxious to read the dealership's reply to this message. I'm sure they will spin it, and try to make it seem that we were unreasonable. All we expected was for the car to be what we were verbally told before visiting the dealership and of course for the car to be 100% as indicated on their website.
