Tessie or Tessa the lying ass manager is a horrible person to have running a retail store.I I went to return 3 items, with my receipt which I paid cash for, a this manager claims "the system is only offering merchandise credit for your return." I said that is not true, and asked to see the screen. "We aren't allowed to show. Customers our screen, its a security issue." I said thats untrue as well. Its my transaction on your screen and I'v been shown the screen on many occasions. Then asked why she's lying to my face, and claimed she wasn't This manager sure knows his not to be even satisfactory in customer service and should be demoted to cart straightener since that is all I saw her doing my time in the store before mishandling my transaction. Then a young boy with a horrible perm, followed me into the baby isle, gym isle then the cash register. I assumed he thought i was steal and was shocked to see me paying for my items. 3 stars Located in the saddest mall I have ever been to, this TJ Maxx is quite neat with everything spaced far enough apart. Basically, everything here is also at Marshalls. Some will be available at Ross and HomeGoods as well. I don't think there's anything unique about it, but it is still a decent shopping experience. read more

This selection here is ok. I was able to find stuff for a trip I was going on fairly easy, but the variety was lacking. They're located inside Buena Park mall which is empty compared to other malls. The selection I found at other TJ Maxx locations so nothing special but it is a little less busy. Parking is easy to find and they're visible from the outside. read more

I've been hearing about this chain for the entirety of my life & at last came the day I would pay a visit. I was on the hunt for a medium-sized baby/light pink purse & an electric eyebrow hair remover/shaper. Literally walked in and out within 5-10 mins with not only exactly that but also a gorrrrrgeous nude eyeshadow palette & an adorable planner for 2022. I really didn't want to have a shopping spree so I ran away from the beauty aisle to the cashier, pausing briefly to admire the crop tops, 3/4th crop tops with the ties at the bottom, & "schoolgirl" skirts, all well advertised. I thought of these discount chain stores as selling products "out of season" but the trends were pretty on point. The skirts were of much better material than what I tried on at H&M, Madewell, Free People, & Forever 21. I had to get out of there bc I was on a time crunch but I think I might actually come back for the clothing. This schoolgirl needs to dress the part. The walkway/line to the cashier is compacted with literally every product you realize u need. I noticed the planners & swiped the most perfect small marble-design 2022 planner ever. Couldn't have planned it better (hehe). I'm SO happy with my vegan leather purse- it has to be one of my top favourite 2021 purchases & it was a complete steal. V impressive read more

This is a very nice TJ Maxx - definitely one of the nicer ones I have been in! Stuff is still all over the place so jua be prepared to dig! You don't always find what you're searching for and sometimes you discover another treasure! I was looking for matching sweaters - found one --- and discovered in the same design scattered throughout the racks --- but only found one size out of the two I was looking for. Located within the Buena Park Mall which is kinda sad, they have a TJ Maxx, where you can enter in the front or from the back which is the mall entrance. Very spacious probably due to social distancing. I do feel the men section continues to shrink in space, which makes it harder to shop. The staff are friendly and the store is relatively clean for the most part with labels of sections to know where things are. Parking is easy to find as they have an entire lot for the strip mall. read more

She is turning 3 years old and we wanted to have a little something special for her at the house. This is my favorite off-price store so when I saw that there was one close to Knotts Berry Farm, we went here last week. Someone at Porto's told hubby about it. We didn't want to go back to the hotel on such a full belly. We wanted to do some walking which means let's go window-shopping. Well, shopping is just a regular thing when you're visiting another city, just saying. Plus I had some gift cards to spend. It's a good size. It's well-stocked and organized (well, off-price stores are sometimes picked over). I thought clearance was good. I always check socks, always looking for smartwool brand. But no dice. I almost bought something on clearance but it was damaged. I contemplated. I almost went back for it. Athleta leggings $18, there was a one-inch rip on the front of it. I passed on it. There was quite a bit in home clearance. An entire long aisle, as a matter of fact (near the exit door leading to the mall). Soy candles (large) were $12.99 (not clearance, regular price). It was attractive but since we still have a whole box worth of candles, that stopped me. I'm trying to really be practical and not impulsive when I make purchases nowadays. Horrible horrible service. Had a little manager come verify my credit card on my app and my ID to only tell me to log off again and log back on. After that I was ready to type in my credit card number on the pin pad for her to tell me SHE has to do it. I thought the whole purpose was to "be secure" I didn't feel comfortable her typing my credit card number for me when I'm standing there I could do it myself. TJ max needs to train employees and get them all on the same page. I will be paying off my card and never coming back. read more

Come here when I'm free and I always end up leaving with a couple of items! They have a nice selection of home decor and kids clothes. Wish they had a bigger selection of hand bags though..The employees are always so busy doing what they are doing that they don't really acknowledge you. Love this TJ Maxx. I'm glad it's finally open since it's so close to my house. I love that they carry name brands at affordable prices. I prefer TJ Maxx over Ross or Marshall's because most of the locations are pretty well organized. It's easy to find what you're looking for & they tend to carry multiples in each size. The makeup, hair supplies, shoes, purses & jewelry departments are some of my other favorites to browse through. I love seeing those red labels because when stuff gets marked down at TM, it gets marked way down. Of course, I can't leave without looking through their home goods department where I always end up finding something that I usually don't need and don't have anymore space for, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Especially when it comes to candles, unique decor, serving dishes & nuts & candies from around the world. And one last thing that I love about TM is that their clearance items end in zeros. Weird I know, but that .99 & .98 trick is getting old. I like seeing $1.00, $2.00 & $3.00 items! :) pennies are so yesterday! read more

I shop online . . . whenever, wherever possible - food to major appliances. Why? Expendience and customer reviews. Recently shopped for yoga clothes. UGH! Outrageous prices online. No deals. No seconds. No discounts. Needed sturdy, comfortable pants and several cozy wife-beaters (what a name for a t-shirt, huh, but discriptive). Didn't want to invest much in case I hated the exercise class. Headed for the Kirkorian theater saw a sandwich sign annoucing the opening of TJ Maxx. Made a beeline for the store. (It's a converted DSW shoe store, which was moved a few doors closer to Ross.) Bright, beautiful, neatly arranged store. Good amount of active wear to choose from. Lots of dressing rooms. What I found is exercise pants MUST be tried on. Sometimes the leg area is too wide or thigh and derriere area too small. Depends on cut. (I'm buying pants to wear BEFORE regular exercise . . . let's say Roomy Fit is preferable right now.) Even at discount prices I found the pants too expensive - $30-40 at discount. I want pants at $10-15. If I get serious I'll spend more down the road. Tank tops. Wide variety at amazingly low prices - $4.99. I bought 5 eight weeks ago. Wear them everyday (interchangably). Easy care, keeps shape, great fit. Stays in place during exercise. LOVE THEM! Want more. Good customer service at TJ Maxx. I'll definitely check them out from time to time, especially at Christmas time. read more

Grand opening was today so of course it was PACKED. Even with how many people were inside, it still managed to look clean so people were doing a really good job with keeping up with things. The store is very well lit, the register was moving very quickly, and the aisles are pretty average for a TJMaxx. I'm really looking forward to going back right as they open in the morning during the week day to wonder around with less people. The manager offered me only $.99 deduction. It's kind of offensive and such an insult. But, another words, I can find a brand new non broken same one if I pay $.99 more. Yes! I stopped by cuz I was in the area and had a little time to kill. I scored some great items I needed on clearance. At the checkout they were very careful with the glass vases that I purchased and packed them up nice and tight and offered me assistance to my vehicle to ensure that I would have no trouble with the fragile items. I really like this store because they truly do have it all. From home decor to regular household items and fashion splurges. It's definitely better than Ross. You might pay a bit more for certain items but the quality is very good and I don't mind paying more. I bought my Kenneth Cole wallet here for a fair price and have had it for months and still looks great. My only concern was the way the manager treated her employees. She was a bit rude and I could tell that the employees were uneasy about her being around them. read more

TJ Maxx is one of the most fun Stores to shop at- as long as you don t have a list, and never plan to return anything. TJ Maxx has the worst customer service for returns I ve ever experienced. Even with a reciept, often times they process a return as a purchase without a receipt. Also, do NOT try to return an online purchase or you will be refused; even with online receipt and packing slip! I tried to return a pair of sunglasses bought online, and I had to print off TJ Maxx's own return policy for them !! The manager intervened and said, ( quote), " if the register won't take it, then we cannot return it." Their policy states that the store WILL in fact take it back, but I gave up after 2 tries ! I have had return troubles before, so I usually just write off my unwanted purchase as a mistake and donate to goodwill. This is really frustrating and plain WRONG !! Before residing in one of their stores, you need to know that all of their merchandise are not made for them but are unsold objects purchased from other retail vendors. With that being said, it is still a store which can mostly provide you with many of the things (clothes, decorations, small furnitures, toys, etc.) you are looking for and need. The atmosphere is clean, light, and well organized. The employees are nice and helpful. It can also be stated that their quality is good and prices reasonable. Again, it is worth your time, effort, and money to shop and purchase here. When you go in and walk out, it will always be with something you want and need!! read more

My phone got stolen here, notified their associates right away and were told I need to file police report in order for me to view the camera with the loss prevention. After looking around to make sure I didn't misplaced it anywhere in the store, and checked with the store multiple times by phone to make sure no one turn it in,I filed the police report. Then I called the store to review the footage, I was transferred by the associate to the manager, the female manager would not let me see the surveillance, she would not even tell me if the loss prevention team are on-site. She was rude, did not show any sympathy and didn't even care. After talking to her nicely, she agreed to send an email to loss prevention for them to give me a call. 1 week later, after I still didn't receive any phone call, I followed up with her, she said there's nothing she could do but she will send the email again. Now 1.5 month later, still haven't receive any phone call. Bitch manager, I just hope you don't ever lose anything anywhere! read more

Fri 12/29/17-went into TJ Maxx in BP Mall to shop Xmas clearance items with my Mom. I found a silver crystal glittery makeup bag with handle but no tag or I'd in the product. Asked a floor sales rep & was redirected to cashiers for help. Got up to register & explained the situation asking if they could give me the clearance price as I was interested in buying it. At that point, the cashier told me she'd be right back & she left the register to the makeup Dept of the store.She came back with a plain makeup bag with no handle, it was cheap navy blue shiny plastic & had a price tag on it of $9.99. She said this navy blue bag & my selected sparkle bag with handle were the same brand and that they were the same price because the sparkly bag was NOT a holiday bag or a clearance item, I was mistaken. I countered stating I knew precisely where I'd picked up the sparkly bag with no tag & it WAS indeed off the holiday clearance rack & my Mom concurred so they understood we weren't telling a story. I'd like to say the two bags shared NO SIMILARITY except brand name. Then my cashier turned to another cashier (an African American woman middle aged) who began to chastise me about the item NOT being a holiday item & that the two bags were each $9.99 even though they were radically different in color, shape and size. I again explained where I got it and she told me it came from the makeup department NOT the Xmas clearance and then turned her back on me to attend to a customer dismissing any further conversation of the matter. VERY RUDE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I then went to seek a Manager for assistance. The only person on the floor we could locate was a gal in the clothing dressing rooms. We explained and she offered to call the manager stating she was in the front at the register. I asked whom was the manager & she said it was the African American gal who was so rude. At that point, I left the store. Lo and behold - we went a few doors down to Ross & I found the same case on holiday clearance for 50% off Plus it was filled with 4 high quality bath items all for $9.99. Needless to say..... I will no longer patronize TJ Maxx in Buena Park Mall due to being treated as though I was trying to get something for nothing and that I was telling stories at the register to the cashiers. NEWS FLASH to that Manager - I realize you deal with many types of folks but not ALL of us are the same, next time try treating each person with some courtesy, respect & dignity rather than like they're a liar trying to get one of your products for a cheaper price. After dinner shopping with no agenda to buy anything. But TJ MAXX is always my go to bargain store. By far, this is one of the bigger stores I've been to, which obviously allows for more variety in the store. The store is fairly organized. The associates were clearly cleaning and organizing the store while was window shopping this day. Some areas were a bit discombobulated, but still worth taking a glance through for a deal. Found some great merchandise while walking around, but didn't feel that it was the best bargain to walk out the door with. So empty handed I walk out the door.
