Lot is stuff. Mostly not for me. I don't think I have you ever found any clothing here that I actually wanted to buy. I did look through the pile of clothing for men and it was very sparse. Very few items in my husbands size as far as shorts or polos. There's some grocery and gourmet items, but I am usually a little leery about buying items like that at a store like this. This store years ago used to be managed very well. I know where the manager went and her store is currently the nicest and most organized. This store on Orchard Lake road is messy .. the lay out of the store is absolutely the worst I have ever seen!! Opened now for a limited occupancy. Most of the items are marked down to clearance and up to 75% off. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Great source to buy designer items like Gucci, Long Champ, Tori, MK and many others for a lower price. The dressing room is not open, so one customer bought her dresses and will try wearing them at home. If it doesn't fit, she'll have it returned following the new store policy. I was in your GrandRiver store doing a return. I had my receipt and the tag was on the item. The sales associate stated she had to look it up without matching the receipt to the item or scanning it. She stated it wasn't in the system. She told me I had to take to the original place of purchase. She treated me like I had switched tags. It was clear racial profiling. I spoke to the manager of the grand river store after I returned it to the original Orchard Lake store (Karen). It was ignorance by the sales associate. This is one of my favorite TJ Maxx locations. I've read some of the other reviews about it being disorganized and in some ways that's true but also it's important to not expect a Nordstrom or Neimans. It's a discount store with higher end merchandise. I usually find a lot of good stuff here for a decent price and don't mind that's it's a bit disorganized. I like this particular location because it's what's called a 'Runway' location which means that they get more on trend items from more on trend designers than other TJ Maxx locations. In particular I like TJ Maxx for workout pants and shirts and they have a good selection of mens dress shirts (though fair warning they do run on the small side for the most part). I wouldn't come here for my whole wardrobe but I do like coming here for a few unique items and accent pieces. read more

Terrible customer service and management. I waited in line for an entire HOUR to check out. They had three people on cashier but then reduced it to one person even though the line was to the back of the store. When I finally was being helped, I asked why the line was so long. The woman responded not with an apology but with, "Do you think I want it this long?! We don't have enough people on staff." I don't think this was an appropriate or considerate response and as I mentioned, they had reduced it to one cashier. There were many other upset people in line and a good number that left their purchases and gave up waiting. This isn't good for business and certainly doesn't make customers want to come back to this location. read more

The management here must suck because my God the amount of time I had to wait in line to buy 3 items is absolutely ridiculous. 2 people on the register with 20 people in line. I don't blame the workers, I blame TJ Maxx for not paying livable wages to these poor workers dealing with this mess. Hire more people, pay the people decent money, and stop shoving credit cards down people's throats. I am obsessed with TJ Maxx, so much in fact I write down all their locations when I go out of town and actually map out my trip around making sure I can stop by each one. Also, I add a star to the runway ones, as those are my deifnete must sees. Between this insanity and my need to stop at every bakery in the area my husband is always in for a real treat when its time to go on a trip with me. This TJ is not only next to my even more beloved Loehmann's so that half the day is gone between the 2 stores alone. I think I peed my pants a little when I saw they had an entire wall devoted to Prada, Miu Miu, Gucci, Fendi, Dior, Balenciaga etc. shoes! Fortunatly for my credit card most weren't in my size but I did manage to snag a pair of baby pink soft as can be Dior snakeskin pumps that I petted and cradled in my arms all afternoon in the car. The rest f the selection is also great, I always go straight for the clearance racks and there is always something to be found, love TJ's! read more

This is a 3.5 star TJ but gets an extra 1/2 star on location alone... there is a loehmann's, marshall's and home goods in the same shopping center! this store definitely ain't no ann arbor in terms of organization and cleanliness but it's got a really good mix of stuff... the runway dept is pretty big so you can find a good selection of designer jeans, miu miu dresses, prada, l.a.m.b and other good priced designers here. solid jewelery counter and great handbags. huge men's dept. i'd like to deduct a star for the stinking line's at the register but i won't since that's part of the experience at every tj maxx. this one can particularily annoying so i visit late nights or early mornings. read more

This TJ Maxx had gotten so much better over the past couple of years. It used to be a complete disaster and was totally disorganized. I was in the area a few weeks ago and decided to stop in. The store was clean, organized and very well staffed and stocked. I was looking for jeans for my daughter in the "contemporary brands"section and found two pairs plus two blouses, a sweater and some really cute black treated Levi's that looked like leather for myself! I went again yesterday and made out pretty well. This is my new "go to" TJ Maxx. I used to frequent the one on Telegraph and Square Lake, but I've not had the best luck there lately and the store has been a complete mess. read more

I posted a review on the Marshalls in the same shopping center. I also posted a review on the Marshalls and TJ Maxx locations in Novi. In Novi, I prefer Marshalls over TJ Maxx. Here in Farmington, while I give both 3 stars I prefer the TJ Maxx much more. The TJ Maxx is disorganized, chaotic, messy, always restrucutring and crowded. It is hard to park here even though there is a lot of parking. Still I can always find jeans here that I like and shorts and shirts for the summer at good prices. Everything is always on sale from the sale price. I've asked for help here on multiple occasions and the employees are pretty good. Of course it's budget shopping so I don't see too many people all dressed up like I do at Marshalls a few stores down. That Marshalls is so much better in many ways but this is a better store for my needs so I would give it a 3.25 versus the 3 of Marshalls :). read more

Though I've been to bigger and better T.J. Maxx stores, I really love them all. I remember when I was young and my mom told me she didn't like shopping here because you have to go through every rack to find just a few things that you like. But to me, that's the fun of it! If you didn't know already, I LOVE shopping. Maybe a little too much, but that's beside the point. It's so great that places like T.J. Maxx and Marshall's have nice brand name, and some designer, clothes at more affordable prices. My problem is that my style is not terribly compatible with my budget, so these stores help me find a happy medium. I can't tell you how many times I have gone in looking for a pair of jeans and come out with shoes, shirts and dresses as well. Sure, the selection can be hit-or-miss depending on when they get new shipments in but I am willing to deal. read more

I have to say I'm always hopeful to find something here, but usually leave disappointed. The store isn't organized very well; the women's clothing is supposed to be separated by sizes and yet I see everything thrown in random racks. I understand customers are most likely responsible for this, but a sales associate should be organizing throughout the day or during the week... Also, I don't know when they restock but it's always picked over when I get there. The only sizes left of anything trendy is extra small, small, 0, or 00. Call me unimpressed. This TJ Maxx holds the usual assortment of luggage, personal care accessories, lingerie, women's and junior's wear, a children's section, and a perennially picked over menswear area. I think more local guys clued in to TJ Maxx as a source for discounted threads and the racks look half empty much of the time. I love a deal as much as anyone but I rarely find any shirt above size small. Usually the shoe section offers some respite, but not here. Size 10 never has anything in the clearance section, and the clodhoppers remaining on the regular shelf are mismatched 9.5s, 11s, and nothing in my real size. Occasionally I find a Jessica Simpson or Guess pump scattered among the shoes. Check price tags to be sure you are getting the most current discount; size 6s and 7s may be cheaper than the larger sizes, for reasons unclear. The women's lingerie section is a great deal for bras and panties from Wacoal and leading brands, especially if you score a clearance priced deal. The juniors section is a dead loss for me as a lot of the stock doesn't suit my taste. Likewise, hunting through the women's section leaves me dissatisfied. Most of the clothes are dowdy, bland, and from a narrow range of brands on the whole (like Nautica, Willie Taylor?) that suit when you are 55, but not so much 25. Recently this TJ Maxx, like others, got their designer pop-up which carries Tory Burch, FCUK, and other mid-range lines in limited quantities. Prices vary widely from $79 for a cute sequined top to $129 for a sweet Tory Burch sweater and much higher for coats and dresses. The disorganization in the pop up tells me how many ladies are searching for a good deal, and to be honest, I'm more comfortable shopping online or trying out Nordie Rack on a quieter day. The horrible parking lot for this TJ Maxx causes me endless headaches. The narrow lanes are just wide enough for a shopping cart and require you to crank your wheel the instant you hit reverse. Pedestrians with a death wish like jumping out between vehicles, trusting you to catch a flicker of movement in your rearview mirror or the corner of your eye. Others stroll oblivious between Carter's, TJ Maxx and Ulta, walking behind moving vehicles. They boggle my mind. read more

This is probably the worst TJ Maxx. The workers are rude, the customers are shady and the store is a complete disaster.

This location of Tj maxx is a disorganized mess compared to some of the stores I have been to however they have a really awesome selection of clothing and brands I've never seen at any other location. I always love coming here to see what designer clothes they have. read more

I gave them a 2 star because they do have nice items, however their return policy changes depending on how management feels! Price checks are a joke, and they tell you items can't be found in return system until you go on floor and find a full rack . Management is rude and workers need to be better trained on exclusive items (maybe if they made a little more money in runway and were familiar with the product you could receive better service. Kind of below average for TJ Maxx, but it's not really bad per se. The selection for mens' clothes wasn't wonderful and was poorly organized. Parking isn't the best, and at the time of this writing there is construction happening making it even more inconvenient.
