I like this TJ Maxx location. It's located on the outskirts of Short Pump's urban sprawl in the same center as Wegmans. Parking is generally easy despite being located in a smaller lot. The store itself is well-stocked and I have been able to find various clothing items, including a lovely/warm winter jacket recently, and home decor, beauty, and kitchen wares. The line typically doesn't take terribly long, and the folks working are generally nice and competent. Prices are decent. read more

This place is dangerous! We loaded up our cart with some cool clothes, funky jewelry, and housewares! I love Lucky brand and they have some really pretty boho tops (I bought 2)! I also purchased some reasonably priced jewelry, Lucky brand reversible necklace and some lucite earrings. (The cashier in the jewelry department was abrupt and not very pleasant). They also carry a lot of Kate Spade and Betsy Johnson baubles! Many other brand names at bargain prices to maxximize your wardrobe! My hubby scored a couple of fun summer shirts here for under $12.00 each! He'll be rocking the flamingos and pineapples!! The shoe department is ok, nothing there wowed me. But the array purses are awesome! The faux plant section is nice and the beauty department is plentiful! I found some great deals on clearance! We tried on quite a bit of clothing, I like that they don't really set a limit to the amount of pieces you can bring in the fitting room. (Again, the employee here was like a drone, she obviously doesn't like her job, y'all need to have friendlier staff. I heard two employees straightening the clothes racks complaining loudly about how customers leave things half off the hangers. Save those convos for the employee lounge folks.) Anywho... Channel your inner Maxxinista! I liked shopping in this store, but leaving wasn't as thrilling... read on... Check out was a bit delayed because the cashier wasn't sure how to process a gift card. It took longer than you'd expect and a manager had to be involved. Also, we found a maxi dress in the clearance section with a broken zipper. It would clearly cost a pretty penny to repair. They would only discount 10%, (like $2.50 which is a joke!) and the manager's decision was laaaa-mmmmeeee. So we reluctantly left it there, doubting anyone else will purchase it. Bummer. Dude, I get store policies, but use your discretionary common sense and managerial skills. For all the trouble it took to check out, he should've cut us a deal! The downside of chain retail... nobody can override company "policy". Although I enjoy the inventory here, the service is disappointing. read more

This TJ Maxx location is one of my favorites! It's always neat and organized and I always leave with something even when it's not on the list! Lol I love their purse collection and their jewelry is my favorite and within the budget. I love the fact that they have a little of this and a little of that! I managed to find a pair of workout leggings on clearance and the customer service was ok. There are better TJ Maxx stores in the area, so I'll most likely shop at those moving forward. read more

This TJX is still new and not yet up to par. It looks like they haven't yet gotten full stock of merchandise, because there are lots of empty shelves and spaces. That said, I did find two jackets that I liked and bought :-) read more

I love all of the TJX company stores, and I usually have a very pleasant experience; However, this time was not the case at all. I found a cute workout top in the final clearance section with a yellow sticker tag for $6. When I got up to the register the guy checking me out proceeded to tell me that he needed to get a price check for the $6 final clearance item, although he did not explain why at all. From my understanding, the original TJMAXX tag was gone and the yellow sticker tag was stuck on the brand name tag, which I did not even realize myself before I got up to the register. He asked for a price check over the intercom, and then I could see two women looking in the regular-priced workout top section. I knew then and there that they were going to come back with a price that was much higher than $6. After several minutes, they came back with the price of $16.99, which I then proceeded to not purchase because of its ridiculousness. Of course, I can afford a $16.99 top, but I just didn't want to give them my money anymore. I assume that this "policy" is conducted because someone could very easily take the sticker tag off of something and put it on something else to "make it cheaper" (however if this can be done so easily, then why do they use stickers instead of tags in the first place?). I told the guy ringing me up that I got it from the final clearance section and he just seemed like he didn't care. Even if there is no way to get around this "policy," they could have at least taken my word for it and gotten a price check from the final clearance section (which is what they should have done in the first place considering that I got the top from the final clearance section). If they really didn't believe me, they could have seen me on the surveillance cameras finding the top in the final clearance section. It wasn't like I even found it randomly. It had a final clearance tag in the final clearance section, who would have thought of such a crazy thing? Not only am I mad about the price not being honored, I am also mad that they made me feel like I switched the tags and took off the original tag. Overall, the customer service at this TJMAXX location is the epitome of awful and they need to learn a little lesson called "the customer is always right." read more

I couldn't find a big set of athletic clothes which was disappointing to me because that's the reason I went. I wish they had more gym leggings and tank tops. I ended up finding one shirt I liked and my husband bought it for me :) Maybe we will go back sometime but not sure read more

New store in the short pump area (near Wegmans). Spacious and relatively organized compared to some of the other locations I've been in over the years. They have a good selection and lots of staff available to help. Glad this opened. read more

The cashier was incapable of being pleasant. I had made a special trip to this location to do a return and look around for some new items. When I was ready to check out, the cashier waived me over and I waited for her to sanitize the counter and put away some hangers, but no verbal greeting what so ever. I said: Hello, I just have this return today and she literally just said: give me your ID, and I waited and waited and then, without explanation, she walked away to another cashier and I am just left there for an unreasonable amount of time. Even when she needed me to sign she said: sign this. Very odd and frankly, it was my last time in there. Side note: I tried to complain at the time, but was told a manager was not available. read more

This TJ Maxx is much nicer than the one down the street, but, I think it's a little smaller. The make up isn't as picked over.

I normally dont review that many businesses but i want to get better lol. This TJ Maxx i have to say is one of the better retail stores i have been to as of recent. When compared to other stores in the same category,this one like they have there stuff together. Just about any of these discount stores to me you have to go in with the mindset that you will have to search threw racks of stuff to possibly find something you want. This is still the case here but the key difference is this TJ Maxx is organized! This was a welcoming surprise to me and a much appreciated one. The associates where also helpful while i was in this location. I will definitely be going back regularly to check this location out and see what new inventory they get in. read more

I decided to update my initial review. I still really love this TJ Maxx location however, it seems that selection isn't what it has been in recent times that I've visited. The selection of items could be better especially when it comes to clearance items and junior clothing. They've got a wide variety of luggage, beauty products, handbags, home decor, and more. The people who work here are young-I'd say 25 and under. They are always sweet and polite. I have been to many places where it isn't the case, but the staff here is very friendly and sweet. I'd like to see more swimsuits but overall, great place. read more
