This location has always been neat and organized when I've come here. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Orange. They remodeled here a year or 2 ago & it's so much better now. The dressing rooms are very nice & modern & I always find something I like here for me, the pup & great gifts for friends & family. This place would normally get a 3 or 3.5, just based on the cool finds here and the "not bad" customer service, plus the fact that it's the closest one to my home. Today however, I returned after purchasing about 10 frames on Monday night in order to memorialize my best friend and brother of 14 years. Needless to say, I was not in the highest of spirits to begin with, but the service I received from _________ at the registers didn't help much. She wasn't outright rude, just sadly unaccommodating and while she probably didn't go out of her way to be unhelpful, she was borderline right there. I'll explain: I stood in line with 2 returns - one with a receipt for aforementioned picture frame that did not fit photo (it was a red-tag clearance item) and the other - a place mat that I'd purchased at TJ Maxx Home Goods (I'd returned Home Goods items here at this very store 4-5 times prior). _________ took my return with receipt for the frame (great & thank you) but went on to explain that they could not take the return for any Home Goods items at this store. I told her I'd returned 4 or 5 Home Goods items at this location. She ignored me (no "I'm sorry sir," or "let me look into that") -- nope; just ignored me and made me feel like I didn't say anything. I told her that I wanted to simply exchange the frame and the place mat for other frames - purchase more items from her store... she let that go over her head as well; instead, she asked me if I had the credit card used for the transaction. Again, I told her that I simply wanted to exchange the items for more items. She said she'd get me store credit for the frame, and when I asked about the place mat (since again, I'd returned other Home Goods items here), she asked aloud, "do we take Home Goods items here?!" -- someone responded "no." Way to make the customer feel like an idiot or like he's lying over a $4.00 place mat lol. Again, I've returned Home Goods items here in the past; they finally made it clear - "you have to have a receipt." "Thanks for not calling me a liar!" ~Sam Rothstein [CASINO, '95] I understood now, clearly... It's policy. Thanks for making it clear. Finally. Probably not in the nicest most customer-friendly way, but thanks. I asked if I could leave the large place mat (which I purchased again at their stores lol) with her while I shopped for new frames. Her response? "No I don't think we can keep your property here!" (I thought she was kidding!) This is when I told her she was being rude and going out of her way to be difficult. This is when I grabbed my card and went (against my own will) and shopped and spent MORE MONEY at this poorly-ran store). When I came back in line with my new items to purchase, _________ was at the register, but she looked at another rep, said something and walked away so that she didn't have to "deal" with me again. Thanks for making an already tough time, tougher, and for no reason. Hope you enjoyed making a regular customer feel like lower than he already felt today. And still, as "off" as that entire experience was, all I could ask for is some better training for these folks. If you go through life not knowing that the small things you do to make people happy or ease them in the slightest way could mean the world to them, then maybe you have no business working in retail or making face-to-face customer interaction. To her credit, I don't think she knew how difficult she was being (or why she chose to be so, not holding my items at the register while I shopped) and furthermore the second gal who helped me was an absolute peach, and I appreciated the kindness wholeheartedly. Again, I don't think _______ was trying to be rude (even when she handed me off or made me feel like an idiot in front of everyone), but she could definitely use some training on how to treat folks when these situations arise. I love shopping at TJ Maxx but I am very annoyed with this location. I have already experienced problems twice at the cash register where the cashier either charged me for an item and it was never bagged or I return an item with the receipt for them to say it's not on the receipt and give me a gift card instead of cash that I paid with. This locations customer service is bulls#@t. If I owned this business/location I'd be very concerned about the type of employees that worked fo me. I worked retail for about 20 + years & I NEVER NOT ONCE, treated customers the way I was treated here! On top of that I didn't even return the attitude & disrespect I was given for ABSOLUTELY NO reason!!! Not even after I noticed what seemed to be loss prevention or just the regular employees without name tags following me around watching me like fucking hawks! I had NO fucken intentions of stealing ANYTHING when I intended to return something I had bought from another location! I ended up shopping around for a bit & bought something else! I NEVER gave ANY fucking reason for these women to treat me that way! NO attitude, NOTHING, NONE!!! Only sincere pleases & thank yous when I did approach them to ask questions before going to pay for my stuff. If they only fucking knew how things coulda potentially went down! FUCKING WOW! Mileena helped me in the dressing room & I immediately noticed the level of customer service she had by her facial exspressions & the tone of her voice! Not to mention the COMPLETE lack of even a fake smile! Even IF I WAS there intending to steal, SOMEONE needs to teach these ignorant women how to customer service a person you feel is suspicious!!! WOW! :\ Talk about making UNeducated assumptions! I mean I was afraid of pulling my pants up cuz (they're a bit loose) in fear I'd get attacked by security who had been called out! SERIOUS! Then Evelyn the cashier who rung me up - gave me immediate attitude when I POLITELY asked to speak to a manager TWICE about requesting a discount on something because it was damaged! Who (manager) at LEAST TRIED to fake a good attitude & give/gave false good customer service btw! If I was her (Evelyn, my cashier) superior & I heard her speak to a customer that way accompanied by the DIRTY ASS look on her face, ESPECIALLY if the customer wasn't being rude, I would have wrote her up or possibly gave her some type of suspension!!! This TJ Maxx is just a tad bit smaller compared to the ones I usually go to. The selections were okay and not much people there to help. I'd come back if I have to, but If I have the time of day to go elsewhere, I would. I love TJ Maxx, don't get me wrong. I just like to have more varieties. Some things are overpriced and some thing are reasonable. I love going to the purse aisle. I have been going to this store for a while now. They have good customer service every time I have stopped in. I did have to wait one time because the guy at the cashier was having a hard time with a coupon and no one seemed to help him out but in the end he figured it out. read more

So I hadn't ever visited a business where every person who works at store is mildly mentally challenged...until I went to TJ Maxx today.... It seemed like it was going to be a great shopping trip, I usually never walk out of the TJ Maxx home section empty handed. Today I discovered a dog food bin that had a picture of a labrador, german shepherd and australian shepherd on it that looked just like my old dog. My australian shepherd recently passed away so I wanted this as a remembrance. It, however, had a dirt stain on it and a broken latch. I was willing to purchase it for a cheap price. It did not have a price tag on it, so I brought it up to the front and offered to pay 10 dollars for it, as it was plastic and broken. One of the ladies then told me that it would be 40 dollars, yes, 40 dollars for a broken plastic bin. I told her that it wasn't worth it and that I would pay 10 bucks for it. She talked to the manager, who may have been mentally challenged as well, and said the cheapest they would go would be 20 dollars for a broken plastic bin. One of the ladies then tried to prove it cost that much and ran back to grab a cat food bin that they were charging 15 dollars for- which was missing its lid. I declined to purchase the bin as it would be robbery, and attempted to purchase a picture frame instead. The strip on my credit card did not seem to work so the clerk handed it back to me and said it was a bad card. I told her to enter it manually, which would have taken 5 seconds, but she said she couldn't do it. She must have been either lazy or mentally challenged as well,because all modern systems in major retail store chains allow credit cards to be entered manually. So I left empty handed, thanks to the bozos who work here. Unless you have a half an hour (and extra money) to waste dealing with these clowns, don't waste your time going to this TJ Maxx. read more

Prices keep going up and selection keeps getting crappy. They need to keep the beauty selection clean. Everything looks used, open and old.

Had a problem with our purchase of $100 gift card,spoke with Elsie who is very helpful and courteous(over the phone)she's going to let her manager call for the outcome of my inquiry. David,the manager gave me a call back,asking me what my problem is..explained to him,he is very professional,compassionate and helpful..he will get back at me after some other necessary protocol to do. Not long after that he gave me a call back with the good news..a new $100 worth of Gift Card is ready for pick up. After 5:00pm..I can ask for a Diane to give it to me..he is already off. I will say that they let me return something without a receipt- but they watched me as a struggled to get my id out of my wallet because she needed it out and couldn't just look at the number through the window. Small store with out a lot of merchandise. But the checkout line is very efficient. As soon as a cashier is done with a patron, a little voice says the lane number that is next available. Lots of parking outside. Store is a bit dirty feeling and there is a fair amount of disorganization from guests not putting stuff back and nobody cleaning up. read more

This location was remodeled a few years ago, and now it's clean and fairly well organized. Good source for home goods and kids' basics. Women's clothes, which seem to occupy the most floor space, are very hit and miss. I see many items that are not much of a bargain. Just makes it sweeter to find the rare nice item! read more

Nice clean store but not very many items on sale. Most of the items are price a regular TJ Maxx prices which are certanly higher than Marshalls. The selection of items here is not bad compared to other discount stores in the area. read more

I can only give this store 3 stars maxx. It's a smaller store. So less variety: mini shoes section, limited skin care collection, tiny kitchen utensil selection. Some areas of the store are well organized, whereas others are a mess. Some of the beauty items are icky. Needs to be wiped before putting on shelf. The employees are polite. Came here around 10 am on a Monday morning. The place was a total mess. I'm not sure if they had just opened that day, but as I wandered through the aisles, there were shopping carts filled to the brim with items, at least one to two workers in those said aisles, trying to tidy up some supermessy shelves and put out new stuff. Their clothing selection was standard; I browsed through the racks but nothing caught my eye. They had quite a large purse/suitcase area, and the messy areas were the the housewares/Christmas stuff. The workers were supernice there, didn't pass anyone without getting a how are you today. This place is nothing special, nothing bad either. Would not drive out of my way to go here. read more
