I wish I could give a better review because I know it's important to support local businesses. But..... my called-ahead pick-up order was 25 minutes late. There was total confusion behind the counter...uncomfortably so. After waiting all that time for 2 dinners, which were supposed to be a combination of grouper AND shrimp, were grouper only. The portions were fairly sized but we found the coating salty. So much so that we didn't bother to finish our meals. Unfortunately, we definitely won't return. read more

My sister and I went for lunch last Friday. We ordered two of the $22.95 meals, two chowders, a diet coke and a sweet tea. My sister used her debit card to pay for the two meals. The meals should have totaled around $60-65. Her debit card was charged $92!! We are going back today to see how this total was arrived at. The chowder was good but watch what you are being charged. We recently moved to Inverness FL and were anxious to find a good fishmonger. TJE is all of that and much more. They are a family owned business and they know what they are about. The selection of fish is always fresh or freshly frozen, it is varied from many sources but mostly their own boats. Their selection of smoked fish dips are all superb, their crab cakes are the best we've ever eaten and we have sampled crab cakes everywhere along the East and West coasts. Their prices are reasonable, but more importantly they are wonderful people to deal with. I highly recommend TJE Seafood. read more

We've been looking for a great fresh seafood market in the Floral City area for a long time, and TJE Seafood seemed to be open, then not. Fora while there, we couldn't figure out what was going on. Probably thanks to COVID, their hours and inventory seemed a little sparse. But now they are definitely open, and our lives are better for it! Hurrah! Just brought home some really fresh grouper, and some smoked salmon. So far we've had some of the salmon, and it is awesome! Best smoked salmon I've ever eaten, and I've tried it from California to the East Coast. I think they start with good, fresh salmon, then smoke it themselves, no doubt using some special wood and a little magic. I almost hate to mention it because now it will be sold out. read more
