Went to Prime and Ember for a celebratory dinner last night (June 4) with friends. The ambiance was elegant and the wait staff professional and attentive. What made it a disappointment was the food. If you like everything salty, this place is for you. One friend had ordered the grouper with seasoned rice and creamed spinach. After just a few bites, she was done. Everything had been over-salted. My husband had a marinated pork rib eye, baked potato and mushrooms. Although he enjoyed it, I had a bite and it, too, was salty. I had pork medallions with huge baked potato and carrots, which were very good. I have never been served medallions that were an inch thick and cooked medium-well, but it came with a sauce that I thought would make it juicy. Unfortunately, the sauce was an inedible, pasty flour and water mix with mushrooms. The kind waitress brought a thinner and more tasty brown sauce that worked much better. But the pork was dry and tough. I would have rated this experience 2 stars, but the extra star was for the attentive wait staff, ambiance and delicious celebratory dessert that was "on the house". We don't plan to go back for dinner, but I once had a wonderful experience for lunch, so I could see doing that again. read more

After a round of golf we stopped to have drinks up on the rooftop bar area. Not only did we have delicious drinks but we share the crab and spinach dip and the seafood stack salad. AMAZING!!! We enjoy sitting at a bar, ordering food, interacting with the staff and other customers. Food wise, good food. The menu should indicate six (6) oysters, not a fully dozen. The staff was great. The atmosphere is bad. Being located across the street from the band stage, 100% of the loud band comes right into the bar area, INCLUDING the dining area. With the door opening every 10 minutes, very difficult to have a conversation. Prime + is trying to create an up-scale environment, they missing it because of this issue. Should construct a vestibule to significantly reduce the noise. Because of the noise, we headed upstairs, BUT it was open-air inside the facility. 100 degrees and the place was open. We had 5 meals, 3 were rated 7 out of 10. The two ribeyes were rated 5 out of 10. The food arrived warm at best. Baked potato was cold. The 78.00 ribeye was worth about 35.00. I so wanted this review to have more stars however it is not to be. I was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate Christmas Eve and didnt want to drive to Orlando and with all the hype for this newly upscale local restaurant I made reservations. Very easy to navigate on their website. Beautiful decor and was seated quickly in a half booth with view of the outside area of the restaurant and this is where things go awry. It took aproximately 10 minutes for any server to greet us and let us know they would be with us shortly or order drinks. The assistant waiter Hannah came by ad filled our water glasses then our server Chase finally came to the table. Either he did not want to be working on Christmans Eve or he has the personallty of a wet noodle. A tray of meat is presented to each table for review of the cuts of meat available and complimentary fresh hot bread basket with butter is served. We ordered the Surf & Turf and the Filet & Shrimp Fondue. - Surf & Turf - while the wagyu ribeye was cooked to medium rare it had a char taste to it which ruined the flavor of the wagyu, the lobster was not buttery but overcooked and rubbery, the baked potato was barely warm could not even melt the butter or cheese on top and the asparagus also had a char taste - total disappointment in this entree and yes I did bring this up to managment but their only solution was to remake the entire dish, who needs 2 of an already ruined dinner. - Fiet & Shrimp Fondue was cooked was cooked perfectly and only complaint was the baked potato again barely warm - - Pseudo Hugo - this drink is non alcoholic and not sweet at all, very prominent lime & mint flavor, this drink was not for me even after I added simple syrup and ordered a Shirly Temple which was very weak in grenadine flavor and no Cherries in the drink at all. Not sure if it was the restaurant being newly opened or Christmas Eve but it was not a great experience and maybe willing to try again in a few months when the restaurant has been open longer in the mean time I will go back to FMK's other higher end restaurant Chop House. read more

Celebrated our grandparents 90th and 95th birthdays at the newest FMK location in Eastport! Prime and Ember is now open serving delicious steaks, seafood & cocktails! We had exceptional service and the restaurant is absolutely stunning with very clean bathrooms. I would recommend substituting a different side for the rice as it was very bland and hard. Went here on friday night for a nice dinner to celebrate the buying of my house! The server charlie was very accommodating to my food allergies and the meal was perfect. The hostess came back 10 mins after being seated and gave us a card with a hand drawing of a house to congratulate us and her name was Hali. Four stars for ambience and decor. They did a great job and it's right on the square. The rooftop area is reminiscent of being in South Beach and is fabulous. Menu is three stars. It's the normal boring FMK selection every one of their other restaurants offers. Plus, it visually looks the same - the layout. Why these people don't change things up is beyond me. Don't they hear the feedback that Villagers actually want something different? You have an opportunity to make each of your restaurants a unique niche but you fail to do that with each new opportunity. So, this place is super great for drinks and music. I suggest reservation since this is a hotspot right now Arrived about 15 minutes early and the hostess informed me that tonight was the lucky night that the rooftop called "The Terrace" opened..... and she pointed me in the direction of the elevator and said I could wait there for the rest of my party and check it out. She would send a text when the table was ready. Beautiful establishment, nice elevator, gorgeous rooftop lounge. There was a hostess at the elevator that told me to go outside and sit anywhere open so I went out the doors and sat down. Two different waitresses came by and provided me with a menu for the rooftop so of course I had to explain we had a table downstairs we were waiting for. Then found out where we were sitting was reserved. Moved to another spot another waitress came by and told us that was reserved which left us standing up so why in the world were we directed to go to the rooftop? I'm not sure. We felt like ping-pong balls which should not happen in a fine dining restaurant like this. Went back downstairs to the original hostess, who said our table was ready, but we never got a text. We were seated in a booth and we're lucky to have a wonderful waiter who really seemed to know what was going on. He brought us a tray of the selection of meats to look at and explained each one ....everything was grass fed steaks. we ordered the French onion soup to start with, which was amazing, The best I've ever had. I ordered the Tide and Timber which was a 6 ounce filet and three Parmesan crusted shrimp with garlic, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We were provided with fresh hot garlic rolls and butter. Delicious! Service was on the ball. Our food came in about 20 minutes, which was pretty fast considering it was a full house on a Wednesday evening. For the prices this steakhouse charges, I expected an exceptional dining experience. Instead, it was a huge disappointment. The steak tartare was completely drenched in sauce, which overpowered the beef, and it didn't even include the raw egg that was listed on the menu. It wasn't prepared as advertised. The biggest issue was the lamb. It was served so undercooked that I couldn't eat it. Normally I would have sent it back, but our waitress never came back to check on us. Rather than wait even longer, I boxed it up and took it home to cook myself. That's unacceptable for a restaurant charging premium prices. The service was inattentive from start to finish, and the food did not come close to justifying the cost. Spending top dollar only to leave hungry and have to finish cooking my own meal at home is ridiculous. I won't be returning or recommending this restaurant. read more

My husband's birthday dinner did not go well with regards to his food at Prime & Ember last month. His filet was overcooked and when they tried to fix it with a new steak the new one was burnt in the outside, OK on the inside but the flavor was ruined by the burnt outside. For this price point and to be a signature restaurant I truly expect a higher quality of food. My husband ordered 8 ounce filet mignon with shrimp and scallops and the portion was poor , the shrimp were 2 shrimp and so so small and the scallops were about the size of a dime and quarter respectfully.... Not quality at all. I ordered NY strip and that was excellent. The sides are not served family style and come on your plate as a regular side dish, the carrots, asparagus and mushrooms were so so basic.... I could have made a better meal at home. The Baked Potato was stellar ! BIG and perfectly cooked. I love fine dining and this IS NOT that type of food experience even when the bill for 2 people is $250 plus tip, $300 Prime&Ember Definitely missed the mark. I have dined twice in dining room and will NOT do this again BUT I will try The Terrace for rooftop drinks and lite bites as I have not done The Terrace yet. We had an excellent dinner at the newest FMK restaurant in The Villages--Prime & Ember in Eastport. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was pleasant and efficient. Our Chardonnay was beautifully chilled and the bread warm and tasty. My crab-topped grouper was melt-in-your mouth good as were my carrots and loaded baked potato. My hubby loved his shrimp pappardelle. I only wish we'd had time for dessert! Next time. I hope this restaurant can keep up their excellent standards. read more

1st time here with my girlfriend and another couple. The server, Sean, couldn't have been nicer. The ambiance is upscale and matches the new Eastport area. I had the Cherry Embers old fashioned which was served under a smoke filled glass dome. It smelled great and tasted awesome. Three of us had the grouper dinner the other had the half rack of lamb. The food came out cooked well and hot. Sean was persistent in his duties at our table and was thoughtful and provided opinions on various dishes. P&E is fairly expensive. I didn't have to sell a kidney to eat there, but you get the idea. The experience balanced out with cost, which is a sign of a good restaurant. read more

The rooftop atmosphere was nice, but the service was disappointing. We had a long wait just to get our drinks. The wings eventually came out, but the crab spinach dip was forgotten entirely and had to be reminded. For a total bill of $56, the experience didn't really match the price point. Like other FMK establishments, it's on the pricey side, and unfortunately the slow service made it hard to justify. read more

The worst excuse for a steakhouse. They offer "prime" steaks that are somehow of lower quality than you'll find even at a standard steakhouse. Charging nearly double what you'd normally pay. We've been twice and each time not only was the food overpriced and underwhelming, the service was not good at all. They said our server was one of their best and had been with them for years? Chris took over 15 minutes to greet us, was no where to be found any time we needed him, and his time spent at our table always felt rushed and made us feel stressed. The other time we had a server we can't remember their name, that goes to show how memorable it was. A tall guy who seemed like he was obviously on drugs and his pacing was disastrous. I feel like at this price point, the food and the staff should be impeccable. This was very disappointing as we hoped the villages may have finally had a quality steakhouse. We've eaten there several times but lately the food has been not as good as it was when they first opened. This last visit I ordered the fish entree and it was still fleshy raw in the center so I ate around the edges of the fish along with the sides so by the time our server came to check I was full. However, when the server did come, he even commented on the raw fish " oh my" . At the very least, I would've expected the manager to come and apologize but then again we've met the manager who in my opinion is not very customer service orientated. read more
