    Seafood boil

Everything about this restaurant was great our waitress was amazing the stuffed crab appetizer was awesome the seafood boil was to die for would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone ONLY DOWN SIDE IS CASH ONLY but knowing that going in shouldn't be a problem they do have a cash machine on hand to get cash

Referred to this restaurant by the staff at Explorida, we went for some fresh seafood and that's what we got! We started with the shrimp dip which was amazing and comes in a handy to-go container with a cover and extra crackers. I love that they think ahead! I got a bronzed grouper sandwich. The fish was delicious, but it was a lot of bread. The potato salad was ok,but also not why I was there. C got the scallops and shrimp Alfredo and loved it - large serving so we brought home leftovers that sadly, we did not get to eat but that's another story involving baby spiders in a door that you don't want to hear. Service was fantastic and quick, the view is great, right on the river, and there is outdoor seating to eat takeout if it's not August. Restaurant is cash only, so be prepared.

The Crab Plant does not serve Raw Oysters. You can buy and take with you from The Crab Plant seafood market next door.

I've been here twice and both times was pretty good. Due to COVID we did take out and ordered steamed shrimp with a side salad for $12 plus $1.50 up charge for the side salad and a soup and ate in the car overlooking the water in their lot. 4 stars the steamed shrimp. Good portion, nicely steamed and a good kick to the cocktail sauce. 1 star or less for the soup. Overpriced and not good.

Food was fresh, but bland. Batter on calamari was way too thick and not seasoned. I was really thinking it would be delish, being right next to the water and all. Everything was just okay. Nice water views.

Crab yeah! I'm joking. I don't eat anything living, I'm like a manatee, I eat plants. My husband does, this was his heaven. The Crab Plant was our first official restaurant in Crystal River. The Crab Plant is just up our alley, we aren't fancy people and love a simple place that serves good food. This place is that. Set in what I would consider a warehouse? Located along the water next to a fish market. Paper towels are on every table, for those buttery fish meals. You might be wondering, what did I eat? Let me tell you. First things first, I ordered a sweet tea, but asked if it could be mixed with half regular tea. Don't want my teeth falling out y'all. It's hard to find sweet tea in California, this drink was the best. I ended up ordering sides: corn on the cob, cheesy grits and garlic bread. Just enough so we could split their chocolate peanut butter pie, which was to die for....*drool*. My husband ordered the a grouper sandwich. It was his first grouper and he was hooked. In secret, he said this was his favorite seafood meal during our trip. But still enjoyed every place we ate at.

We dined at the adjacent The Crab Plant restaurant. After lunch we checked out the market. It's rather small, but it has a decent selection. A lot of fresh fish, and some frozen options too. Also a selection of sauces and other supplies for cooking. Since both the restaurant and the market have the same name, I was a bit confused over the two yelp listings. There's a listing for the market, and a listing for the restaurants, and it seems a few reviews (and pictures) are in the wrong place, well mine was, until I fixed it. After lunch, and checking out the market, we wandered the area a bit. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a working crab processing plant. There are piles and piles and piles of pot, as well as what looks like an industrial steamer. All quite interesting, and some good photo ops. Bottom line: You can accomplish a lot at this one location.

Amazing. Simply amazing. The boats roll in and the fresh fish and crabs are at the market and restaurant. No frills. Scrumptious!!! Brought my husband here for his birthday as he loves eating blue crabs. Even though we lived close to Chesapeake Bay, these were hands down the freshest and best steamed crabs that were very meaty. Definitely a win for us now that we are residents of North Central Florida to have a go to market!

This is a 'down home' experience for locals and those lucky enough to find The Crab Plant. The restaurant and market are tucked in an established neighborhood along the bay. This restaurant has obviously been around a very long time. Don't go for the ambiance, but do be prepared for excellent service and superb food. A variety of options for every course. Prices are very reasonable (cash only). Good selection of nonalcoholic beverages, beer on tap or bottle, red and white wines.

I had a fabulous lunch & thanks to Yelp I found this gem right on the water. Service was fast and a very friendly waitress. The food was delicious & very fresh seafood prepared very well!

Located on Crystal River, we just pulled the boat over and bought ice on a hot day. They brought the ice to us and filled our entire cooler up for $5! This place is fish market but also serves fresh steamed crabs and shrimp! Would love to try them.

Dozen blue crabs Maryland style, and hot stone crab legs!

I got a crab tasting of ammonia in the low country boil but as I understand that's luck of the draw sometimes.

Our lunch order of the pick two (I had shrimp and clam strips, while hubby did stuffed crab and the upgraded oysters. We both chose fries and slaw as our sides). The outside isn't much to look at and I found the handicap parking and access a little strange. The parking spot isn't located near the wheelchair/handicap entrance. You have to walk further down the building to get in and that might prove difficult for disabled people who use a walker. One would think they would have thought this through a little better. Once inside however things improve for the better. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with different decorations of marine life. The dining room we were seated in was large with a choice of tables and chairs or booths. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in by a hostess. Our waitress was Kayla who was efficient and sweet as can be. She took our drink and appetizer order as soon as we were ready. For drinks my husband and I ordered unsweetened ice tea with lemon slices. The tea was deliciously fresh. Their menu is a nice size with plenty of choices to choose from and not just seafood. Land lovers have some dishes to pick from. Our appetizer of choice was their Conch Fritters. They came out six in a serving, very warm and delicious with an accompanying sweet sauce. Loaded with conch meat - these were a treat! For our main dish we chose their AUCE shrimp meal and two sides. You can have your shrimp fried, grilled or blackened and can interchange with each serving. I started with the blackened shrimp. I was served a generous portion of the shrimp. Nice sized and piping hot they were delicious! They have squeeze bottles of cocktail sauce and tartare sauce that they bring you for the table. I found that I didn't need any sauce because the flavor was perfect. My choice of two sides were macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Both were very tasty. The macaroni and cheese had a spice that I believe was nutmeg. Not overpowering but just a hint to make you think - this is different but scrumptious. The macaroni was perfect and not mushy. The collard greens were also very good. Nicely flavored and went well with my meal. We were also served two nice sized hush puppies. Very nice flavored with a onion flavor. My next portion of shrimp was the grilled shrimp. Very good but not as flavorful as the blackened version but I still enjoyed them. I did use some cocktail sauce with these. And my last portion of shrimp was their fried shrimp. These were fantastic, I mean who doesn't love fried shrimp? These were my husband's favorite. All three versions of the shrimp were wonderful so it depends on your taste buds as to what you chose. You can't go wrong on any of them. The AUCE shrimp special is only on Mondays through Thurdays. They also have AUCE Flounder on those days too. We will definitely go back again and again!

I got the Seafood Alfredo (from the dinner menu) and it was FABULOUS!!! Chock-full of seafood. Perfectly cooked fettuccine. And great Alfredo sauce. Im a bit of an Alfredo sauce skeptic because I make a great one at one, but this was even better than mine! My garden salad had a house-made ranch dressing which I love that they didnt skimp on. AND they bring their fabulous onion straws out to nibble on beforehand! Kudos Peck's! Exceeded my expectations. P.S. As I was leaving a pod of 5 dolphins were feeding in the inlet among the mangroves. So great atmosphere too! P.S.S. First of all, the drive out there can take some time, especially if you get stuck behind a driver who seemed to almost stop at every hairpin turn...not just slow down but crawl to almost a stop. There aren't a lot of spots where you can legally pass so we just had to hope they get off the road or take a turn before we get to our destination. As luck would have it, they turned right into Peck's Old Port Cove. Doh! Upon entering, we requested outdoor seating and the hostess gave us a couple of menus and two sets of silverware and instructed to head out and find a table we liked. We secured a table right by the water. After reading reviews and checking out the menu, my wife and I both ordered the almond crusted fish with lobster cream sauce and with fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry and the views and refreshing breeze more than made up for it. While waiting for our food, we were served some complimentary fried string onions to munch on. The fish was prepared well. Flaky white fish (which we were told was farm-raised swai, aka basa which Google indicated is related to catfish but didn't taste like it) in a nice almond breading and a sauce that perfectly complemented the fish. The cole slow and hush puppies were also good. My wife and I thought the portions were generous and we wouldn't be able to finish it...but we ended up part of the clean plate club as we ate all of it. We're so glad we made it out here...good food and good ambience. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $46. NOTE: We drove out to Ozello Community Park after reading that it's a worthwhile visit. Nope! Save yourself the time...nothing to see there.
