One shot of Baileys, one hot cocoa, and one grilled cheese. Almost $30 with the tip.

I like the staff. Really loved coming here for years but I just simply can't afford cascade bar and grill anymore. $11.50 for a shot of Baileys in a packet of hot cocoa? No. This is ridiculous. I know they suffered throughout Covid but we're way beyond that now and the prices should not be this high. Looking for a new local dive bar if anybody has any suggestions...?

The food is absolutely outstanding. I hope Justin and his staff survive this pandemic. The burger my wife had was fantastic and the chicken fried dinner here is delicious, along with many other things including the fish and chips. Big outdoor party to eat safe this summer. Awesome food! Decent atmosphere! Service is a little slow, specially if your not a regular. Regulars seem to get served first.

Lovely. We could see a fountain. There was also a fireplace near us, which was a nice touch. Service was OK. A little bit slow, and in my opinion, the server was not well trained in basic table service. I would expect a bit better in such a nice location with a lovely restaurant. We both had coffee with plenty of cream. We asked what the soup was, the server didn't know if they had soup. A few minutes later, she returned to say they only had clam chowder. Which is exactly what my friend had had there before and wanted. After a long wait, a very nice bowl of clam chowder was served. It was a healthy portion and came with some oyster crackers. Very tasty. I ordered the roasted beef salad. The beats were on top of a bed of totally overdressed spinach for my taste. The beats were nicely roasted, and there were plenty of them. Candied pecans as well. Not a lot of feta. Pickled onions on top. It was OK only I would not order that again. My friend got the Caesar salad, which was very nice. The croutons were light and crunchy. We also had some bread that came with olive oil and vinegar. This item was fine, not great. The clam chowder was $10 for a bowl and it was the best thing that I had. We had to ask for a refill on our coffee, and also to clear some plates away that were finished. We did stay for a very long time. My friend felt relaxed there and was talking to me quite a bit. I do appreciate that we were not rushed out, however, it was not busy. We were never offered dessert. Perhaps we would've enjoyed that. I see myself returning, if my friend would like to.

They have a unique menu in the Lounge, and the wings are superior! And the sauce is amazing. I also love how the drinks (Tiki) are listed with a "moon," to show you how strong they are, super helpful when deciding. Cause if you like it strong, you know what to get or if want a lighter drink, as Tiki can be intense, you don't end up sabotaging yourself. Haha. I wish there was a half star option, as the only real ding here was that they don't seat in the lounge without your whole party (and yes, I get that there's a time limit, so I suppose that they are trying to make sure everyone has time), but, there's nowhere to wait, so was left standing by the door for some time. Offer to seat me in the bar or something, was very awkward to just keeping shuffling around when people are coming in and out.

I would prefer something a little bit more done. But their steaks definitely do not disappoint. I have been to other steak houses in the Portland area. Roots beats other famous Portland steak houses by their flavor, tenderness, service, atmosphere and portion size. However, their menu items are quite pricey. My steak was nicely cooked and seasoned. The mashed potato and veggies were excellent. They topped the steak with couple pickled onion rings which was quite refreshing. And don't forget the garlic infused butter served with the steak. It was wonderful. I had my wedge salad while my husband had their soup of the day. It was a big salad which Ai appreciate. The blue cheese crumbles and salad dressing was fantastic. The chocolate mousse dessert was a piece of art. It was quite big and can be easily shared with another person. The atmosphere inside was nice and modern in a warm sense. The servers were very attentive. I am not sure what brand of root beer do they serve but it was very good.
